Overview

The Range Rover Evoque is Land Rover's smallest SUV, and as the name suggests, it belongs to the brand's Range Rover family. Though it may be small, it lives up to the moniker with a luxurious interior and surprisingly good off-road performance. The Evoque was fully redesigned in 2020, and though it loses some of the quirky form-over-function design of the previous generation, it's a stylish compact luxury SUV.
For 2022, Land Rover brings back the Evoque's 296-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder and mild hybrid drivetrain in a new P300 HST model, which effectively replaces last year's top-trim R-Dynamic HSE. Besides the more powerful engine, the HST gets you darkened exterior accents, premium leather upholstery, HST-exclusive 20-inch wheels and a 12-speaker Meridian audio system. There are also new standard features across the lineup, including heated front seats, a power tailgate, a wireless charging pad and more.

The Evoque performs better than you'd expect off the beaten path, but beyond that it doesn't offer much the competition can't do better. The Evoque is tight on interior space and light on seating comfort, which is a bad combination in a premium SUV. It's also not that impressive in the performance department, even with the hotter engine. If you're shopping for a luxurious compact SUV, you might want to consider the Acura RDX, BMW X3, Genesis GV70 or Volvo XC60 first.
2022 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque trim level differences

Which Range Rover Evoque trim does Edmunds recommend?
For the best bang for your buck, we recommend the SE trim. It builds on the base model's equipment list with handy features like blind-spot warning and dual touchscreen displays. We'd also add adaptive cruise control with stop & go, which is a stand-alone option on the SE.

Recalls
1 recall foundChecking if a car has a recall is simple. Just type the car's VIN number into the NHTSA website (https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls). If there's an unrepaired recall, you'll see it there.
If a recall shows up, just call your local car dealer. They'll know about the recall and will work with the car maker to fix it for free (if the recall happened within 10 years of the car being first sold).

2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque R-Dynamic HSE 4dr SUV AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo gas/electric mild hybrid 9A)
I have a 2020 Evoque, and the biggest problem is an engine noise that the dealership has attempted to fix 3 times and can’t. Sounds like a 20 year old car. No response from corporate for this official lemon. The start stop issues like other reviewers mention is also aggravating. Bluetooth disconnects every time the car is turned back on and I have to manually reconnect. And this one- the … steer assist jerks me out of merging into a lane I’m intending to merge into- even when I use my turn signal like the dealer advised when I informed them of this scary and dangerous issue.
It's a lemon :(

2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque SE 4dr SUV AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 9A)
I dreamed of owning a Range Rover, I even waited to get the 2020 evoque due to the new body shape and interior.
Well it's a lemon, the most unreliable car I've ever had (and I've had lots of cars!) It's now 11 months old and it's spent about a month of that in the repair shop.
Coolant went, suspension clips wore out, onboard computer has crashed 4 times and made the car unsafe, it … started deselecting it's gear when I was stationary, the screens get stuck and it disconnects from my phone on a daily basis.
It's also terrible to drive, the lag on the powertrain is dangerous, I want to pull out into traffic and yet the car responds so slowly that it makes it unsafe to do so. The unresponsiveness is horrendous.
So yes it's pretty to look at but it's awful to drive and spends most of it's life in the repair shop.
Do not buy one :(

2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque R-Dynamic SE 4dr SUV AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo gas/electric mild hybrid 9A)
I've had so many issues with this vehicle that the dealership (LR Cleveland) actually threw me out and banned me from the dealership because they couldn't and no longer wanted to try service the car. This vehicle is not only unsafe to drive, but it is also falling apart.
Beautiful Car but a LEMON!

2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque SE 4dr SUV AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 9A)
Car is beautiful but we have had 2 major recalls within the year. First one was that the car would randomly shut down in the middle of driving. Second recall was for the car rattling under the hood. There is also no fix for a new issue where there is no audio for ANY GPS apps such as waze, google or apple. Corporate said it's a known issue for the past few months and they still don't … have a fix for it or an ETA.
