In addition to the Defender's three body styles, there are four basic trims: S, X-Dynamic SE, X (110 and 130 only) and V8. To further confuse matters, there are four engines to choose from. The Defender 90 offers three of them: the P300, a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder (296 horsepower, 295 lb-ft of torque); the P400, a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder (395 hp, 406 lb-ft); and the P525, a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 (518 hp, 461 lb-ft).
The Defender 110 offers all three of those and adds a fourth: the P500, a slightly detuned version of the P525 eight-cylinder (493 hp, 450 lb-ft). Finally, the Defender 130 offers the P300, P400 and P500 engines. All engines pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive is standard.

The entry-level S trim is offered on all body styles and comes standard with the P300 four-cylinder. The 110 and 130 styles can also upgrade to the six-cylinder P400 engine.

Second-row captain's chairs are a no-cost option for X and V8 trims. For S and X-Dynamic trims, they're an extra-cost option.
