2010 Jeep Patriot Sport 4dr SUV 4WD (2.4L 4cyl 5M)

The patriot is inexpensive but you get what you pay for. The CVT has a horrible jerk, so-called engine braking, at low speed, and the four cylinder sounds like a diesel until it gets warmed up. Jeep says the jerking is "normal" and they are not working on fix. Good cheap transportation but don't expect a refined ride.

Best Features

Solid Vehicle. Rides like a military truck.

Worst Features

Get the CVT to run smoothly.

Sorry you don't like your Patriot !We have one, and love it. Also have a Toyota Highlander.....most cars and suvs have a clicking sound when in cold weather. The Highlander does the same thing, and is perfectly normal. The patriot ride is very smooth, and the jeep ride is quiet. Only when you are changing gear. i really get tired of the bad rap this SUV gets from edmunds...there are plenty out there that love them . Sorry you don't......there is such thing as a lemon, a perhaps you got one.
