all around vehicle
This truck is fun to drive, comfortable, roomy back seat, lots of storage compartments, excellent radio and CD sound.Especially the XM and CD.I like the chunky look. Comfortable seats.Wish back seats would recline though.Glad we bought it
Best truck ever
Honda got it right with the Ridgeline. For 95% of Americans, a truck is something handy to have - not something necessary - and the focus should be on comfort rather than rugged off-roading ability. Honda knew this already and designed the Ridgeline around the driver and passengers rather than the load. For me, and most people who drive trucks, the bed is there to help me haul relatively big items, but not chunks of steel, engines, bricks, etc. The Ridgeline is the most comfortable, thoughtfully-created truck you'll ever drive in. So why many truck die-hards may balk at its lack of body-on-frame construction and solid rear axle, I'm enjoying a the quietest, smoothest riding truck ever.

Fantastic
From the time we purchased the Ridgeline all of my friends thought it was the coolest vehicle on the market, which it is! The interior design is perfect and it drives like a dream. (17 y.o. son) My son is right. Drives it more than I do. Mom was against getting any truck, until we test drove it. She fell in love immediately - interior extremely high quality as is exterior. Very comfortable, even back seat. Isn't a Luxury car - yet has a feel of luxury and quality. Runs very smooth. 6 banger - not construction worker heavy duty truck, but strong and will do more than we will ever need. I cannot say enough - best car I have ever owned in my 36 years of driving. >17 yo dad
Great Fun
This Truck is a wonderful in between for people who want a truck and need room for a family. I was real suprised with the way it drove. It rides almost like a car. I was also able to take it off road and was really impressed with the way it handled. I think Honda gave this market exactly what it needed.
Love my Ridgeline
No matter what the pundits say, I love my Ridgeline and have nothing but great things to say about, plus I have had absolutely NOTHING go wrong. Would purchase another one in a heartbeart...
No Contest
Was skeptical at first because of it's peculiar styling and V6 engine. 23 thousand miles later I am sold! Ride and reliability are a dream! Ive tested her with my 500 mile a week commutes and long distance interstate trips, but it still drives & handles like the first day. Its a V6 don't be fooled. She has more passing power than my 2004 Hemi Ram 1500 had & gets way better MPG's! Ive had many trucks in my life made by the big 3 when I only bought American that later had me sitting at the dealership for repairs, recalls & excuses. Not to mention losing my shirt when I traded up at the dealer because nobody wants used American trucks or cars. This truck has yet to let me down. Bravo!
Honda Ridgeline RTL
We just took delivery on a new Ridgeline RTL with moonroof. Initial impression: WOW! This is my first truck although you can hardly tell that it's a truck. It rides like a well-mannered SUV (ie Pilot or MDX). It is quiet inside, very roomy and loaded with all kinds of innovative storage ideas. Plenty of power although I'm sure it would be challenged if I ever decided to tow something. This is certainly not my intent. Rather, it will be a great vehicle for garden center runs, any other light duty hauling. Frontier, Tacoma, even F150 shoppers should drive this vehicle before making a buying decision.
Not a stupid big truck.
The Ridgeline handles and drives like a car. Power rear window, in bed trunk, hidden radio antenna, center console with plenty of room, all wheel drive, 60/40 rear seats that flip for hauling a bike. I could go on and on, but, true test is getting behind the wheel and take this truck for a test drive, you will be sold.
Total Satisfaction
I am not a car enthusiast, but this vehicle has made me one. I used to use my Ford Ranger to get from place to place and do occasional hauling. I now look forward to driving and I've already used the vehicle for hauling, finding the bed capacity to be at least that of the Ranger. More importantly, this car is incredibly comfortable, in every way and smooth driving. It feels very roomy inside, with plenty of leg room in front and back. There is tons of storage room, especially considering the flip up back seats and lockable trunk. There are so many places to put things that are so convenient, it's hard to explain. I can't emphasize enough how happy I am with this car.
Love My Ridgeline
We love our Ridgeline. Everything about it is practically perfect -- only exceptions are a bit of windshield noise and a bit of a blind spot on the driver's side. It handles like a dream, it fun to drive and is unusual enough to garner attention wherever we take it. The trunk is especially fine -- very handy on roadtrips. All in all, one of the best Hondas we've ever owned.
First Honda
Everyone has told me about Honda's reliability and quality. I would have to say that what they say is true. The only reason I gave the build quality an 8 is because the outside mirror switch was broken on my Ridgeline when I received it. The dealership has made good on the repair and so far everything else is working great. I broke in the Ridgeline per owners manual and am getting approx. 18 miles/gal.
2006 Ridgeline
The Ridgeline handles extremely well for a pickup truck. I like the features of having a two-way tail gate and the rear storage space. It has good power and gas mileage (I get 18 mpg for my 25 mi commute.) The rear seating is comfortable and the lift up seat feature is very convienient. I had a problem with a bumping noise in the front suspension and the dealership replaced the parts willingly. The truck has excellent support from Honda. The front seats are comfortable. I recently drove 3,000 mi on a trip without discomfort or fatigue. Overall I am very pleased with the truck.
Supercrew Convert
Its a Performance Sedan with a Pickup Bed. As a former owner of 2001 5.4L F- 150 Supercrew 4x4, I feel I know what "nice truck" meant before Honda introduced the Ridgeline. While you can certainly buy "more truck", you can't buy a better one than the Ridgeline. If its ample capabilities meet your needs, you needn't look elsewhere. It asks for no compromise if you you want both a medium duty truck and a full size sedan, you get all of both. There is no truck on the market that is remotely similar to it in design or engineering quality. Drive one, and you'll buy one.
06 RTL Ridgeline
amazing, versatile, comfortable, great through snow, watch out American midsize trucks, hondas coming! I'm a woman owner of this truck have driven many and been a passenger in many and this is a great truck. Use to own chevys, sorry not anymore! Ford, junk uncomfortable and unreliable.
I Love it!
INever thought I would buy a pick up truck! but I am so happy i did. I love the extreme styling, the car like drivability and the functionality. Honda should refine some rough edges like: no driver's side vanity mirror, no mp3 player capability unless you buy a $700.00 option, no roof rack, running boards, towing package (things that come standard in other trucks on its class). I guess they want you to spend another 3k before you are all done with it. In general I am very happy I got it! At least for a while I will be almost the only one on the road with it :)
Love the Ridge
Almost made the mistake of waiting for the New Tundra. Test drove the Ridgeline, the 06 Tundra and the F- 150. Came back to the Ridgeline, it fit like a glove when I slid into the driver's seat. Just the right size for my "gentleman truck" needs (occasional trip to Home Depot). The F-150 was too big and on the test drive the MPG readout on the dash didn't get over 10.5 MPG on average. Didn't wait on 2007 Tundra, even though I had driven Toyotas for years and my other car is a Lexus. No regrets!
Better than hoped for.
We take two fishing trips to Canada each summer.18 foot boat loaded with gear.Back seat full, bed full including 4cu ft freezer. Drives great, only notice load braking and uphill.
First 3,000 miles
I bought this truck for sales and travel purposes with storage. I travel all over the USA representing a line construction tools. For years I used a Dodge Caravan with mixed feelings about having my euipment inside with me and the passengers. I thought the Ridgeline would be perfect for what I do. Living in Colorado I wouldn't think of the Ridgeline for serious off road purposes. There are too many very good trucks and SUV's for this. But if you consider the Ridgeline for light industrial usage and having to get to worksites and traveling long distances for a living, this is it! My gas mileage so far just under 20 mph on the hiway. 17 mph in town.
Drives Like A Car Works Like a Truck
I've had my Ridgeline for almost a year and it has been my favorite vehicle so far. It is fun to drive and handles more like a car. It has been very steady on snow and ice. When driving across country, I felt relaxed and comfortable all day long. I wish the gas mileage was better for this V6, yet overall I am very satisfied.
WOW - What a first impression
I have only owned my Ridgeline for a couple of days, but what a couple of days it has been. I was not sure I liked the looks of the truck when I first saw it. But after comparing and reviewing other models and trucks I decided to take one for a test drive. I was hooked as soon as I started to drive. The cabin inside is luxiourious, comfortable, and well thought out. Storage space is close to overwhelming with the coolest center console I have ever seen. The truck truly drives like a fine tuned machine with no shacks, shimmies, or jolts: I think it rides better than my Accord EX I just traded in. The power is good and strong and will not leave standing at a stop light. I love my truck
Owned for over one year
Most reviews are written by new owners. Have had it for one year, longest trip 2000 miles. Very comfortable. Love the truck. Best recommendation I can give is "I would buy another". Gas mileage as expected. Ride excellent. Presently have in excess of 20000 miles. Lots of storage space. Meets my every expectation.
Honda Ridgeline
Just drove the Ridgline 2,700 miles. Front seats very comfortable for ten hours of steady driving. Ride comfort was pleasant. Avg mpg 21 incl mostly interstate at 65-70 mph. Loved the lockable in bed trunk. Recommend this Honda product for anyone needing the usefulness of truck for small homeowner type jobs and one not requiring a comfortable back seat.
Great Vehicle
This truck is more of a gentleman's truck where the ride and the handling are far superior to the Chevy truck and the Yukon that I had previously. The interior fit and finish are excellent and the brakes are better than most cars. I have pulled trailers and it does this with ease. If you want a heavy duty work truck, this vehicle may not be for you, but if want a great safe everyday driver this is the truck. By the way, my son is 6' 3" and he can ride in comfort in the back seat. I would buy the Ridgeline again.
Best Truck on the Market!
I can only say that I am a 33 year old man that swore that he would not buy a non-american truck. Honda changed that after I personally drove every truck on the market I could except the Ridgeline. I have been stationed in Iraq so I never knew that Honda started building trucks. I had my mind made up to purchase a BMW X5 until my brother told me about the Ridgeline. I could not believe how much "truck", "SUV" and "High" end car Honda stuffed into one vehicle. It takes ten minutes to name all of the features. It is clearly the best truck on the market for the money...even if it cost more.
Truck that drives like a car.
It is the best truck that I test drive. It feels like driving a car. The first Honda that I purchased, it will not be the last.
Fun To Drive and Reliable
This vehicle has set a new standard that will force the big 3 to change the way they build trucks forever. I have never dreamed this would be so fun to drive.
A New Benchmark for Trucks
It took Honda a long time to decide to build a pickup, but I am glad they finally did. This truck is fantastic. I had a 2004 Toyota Tacoma before the Ridgeline. What a difference! The Honda is vastly superior in every respect. It's design is very intelligent. The ride is amazing! It's simply the best riding truck ever. It is roomy and comfortable. The trunk in the truck bed and the two-way tailgate are wonderful features. It has standard 4 wheel drive, traction control and side air curtains. Since it's a Honda, it will do well in crash tests. It has plenty of power and gets decent mileage on regular. All in all, it is a versatile truck that others will be copying for years.
Ridgleline has Some Neat Surprises
Just bought the RL with Navi and XM sat. radio. The build quality has been excellent honda style. Pretty smooth riding vehicle up to about 80MPH beyond that it gets a little less smooth. The Navi system is incredible with the touchscreen and voice activation for all of the major cabin controll systems. The XM sat. radio is also excellent especially traveling in the rural areas. Overall comfort is quite good with supportive leather seating. Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the vehicle so far.
2006 Ridgeline
The Ridgeline doesn't ride like my old Toyota truck, it's very smooth. The road noise is almost nonexistent. It's easy to step up into the bed w/ the tailgate that swings to the side. The hidden trunk in the bed is great for storing tools & even a cooler. It has plenty of glass all around you for good visability. The cab has all kinds of room, both front & back.
Lovin' It
Not having driven a truck of over 15 I must say "What a change". The Ridgeline has the cab space of the Pilot and a ride similiar to the Accord. I love the in box "truck". I'm glad to see that Honda added the lighting to the volume and cruise control on the steering wheel. I've only had the vehicle a week and I'm "Lovin' it"
Honda Ridgeline Review
This is the best car I have ever owned. It's fun to drive and extremely functional. The hidden trunk with sideways opening back gate makes access a breeze. Great for groceries. Only negatives are the sun visor was an after thought. Its a bit cumbersome to manuver. Gas milage is not that great either. Also there are blind spots but this is my first truck. Overall the interior is loaded with storage and the back seats fold up to allow for a ton more storage in the back. Buy the moonroof option so you receive XM Radio. I am really enjoying this new feature. I added a Billet front grill and chrome side boards. So far lots of people have made postive comments.
Best of both for me
This truck is GREAT, not a HEAVY duty truck, but very comfortable for everyday and for trips too, with the cabability to run to Home depot or Lowes, take the grandkids camping / fishing and seats 5 adults very comfy, I love the height of the seats so you are not climbing in and out of the truck you just swing your legs around and you are standing. the bed trunk is GREAT for storage and is large. Nav works very well along with the sound system, rides smooth and pretty quite, the adjustable console is really nice esp in town driving. I am very pleased with my purchase
First in Cincinnati
Great Performance except when the A/C is on. With the A/C on, the automatic transmission shifts up and down often. Great features, like the trunk,GPS, XM Radio. Matter of fact, the radio is fantastic. The truck is more quite than others that I have driven. Nice interior for a truck. The worst attribute is the poor mpg. I have averaged between 15+ to 16+ mpg. including expressway driving.
An Outstanding Truck
I first saw the Ridgeline at the Cleveland Auto Show back in February. I knew it was what I wanted, and I ended up purchasing one the day after it came out. It was the first one in Cleveland. I can not put in words how much fun this car is to drive. The ride is very comfortable and the features make this truck very cool. It turns heads a lot, all my friends love it, my dad takes it when I am not around instead of his Jeep, and I just love the experience. The car is less than 6 months old and I have already put 13k miles on it. It has been on many roadtrips to Florida, Chicago, Maine, and Canada. This truck runs strong and has not even hinted of having a problem. It is a beast!
A must have for every household!!
I've only had my RL-RTL for a month and a half, but I know I made the right decision the moment I drove it off the lot! It's great on the job site and it hold my two son's car seats with plenty of room to spare! My wife even likes it!
Excellent job
I consider myself myself as a rainy day driver(test drive on rainy days)of various trucks, the Ridgeline far exceeded all the other brands in all categories, just pick one. You can tell by the quality to detail and practicality of all the bell's and whistle's. excellent
Best New Product on the Market!
Well I had the opportunity to be the first to purchase this vehicle at Hudson Honda. It has so many features that are so versatile, that this car can be an all day truck.
An objective owner's viewpoint...
From the buying experience to ownership, I have had nothing but a great experience with my Ridgeline. No trouble, no drama, except for the folks out there that are all "experts" on this truck (talk about subjective), it's been a great ride. And thanks to the Ridgeline Owners Club. You folks are terrific, just like my truck!
Happy Owner
Just took delivery last week and could not be more pleased. Was planning to buy a sports car...drove the new Corvette, Boxter, and a two year old 911, as well as a Lexus 430SC. Also rented a new f-150 in October so new what a truck was like to drive. In the end, I went back to Honda and took a second look. I am so glad I did. This is the thinking man's truck for those who want a car/suv/truck but can only get one. The sports cars were nice, but sometimes I have more than a duffle bag to take along. This is one sweet ride. I am a happy owner. Try it, but only if you want to be sold.
Perfect for what we do
We purchased the vehicle for use as a work truck for Land surveying. The trunk and 4 doors are perfect for securing all of our equipment. We do not use it for severe off roading, but we do use it on muddy construction sites and in moderate off road situations. It has done everything we have asked it to do and have had no problems what so ever. We are very happy with the Ridgeline.
Honda has outdone themselves this time.
I purchased a new Ridgeline about 6 mounths ago, I was one of the first to own one in Minnesota, My only regret is that they didn't make this truck years ago. I traded in my 04 Trailblazer on it and there is no comparison. You couldnt give me another GM product. This Ridgeline is made with quality right from the start. You can feel it when you drive it, and see it when you look at it. It is a lot of fun to drive, gets great mileage (21 mpg highway) and turns heads too. I could not even begin to describe this work of art in only 300 characters. I would not hesitate to recommend this vehicle to my freinds.
The perfect truck for a car guy!
1 Month, and 1,200 miles later, I love this truck! I've wanted a truck for about 18 months. But I hated to drive and ride in one. Either they were too unrefined to drive, or too big. The Ridgeline gives you a smooth, quiet ride with the refinements of a sedan. It's sized like a mid-size SUV, but it feels more nimble. Drives great in the snow. I've been a GM buyer, and never would have purchased a Honda. But Honda must have had the suburban homeowner (ie. ME!) in mind when they designed the Ridgeline. This is a perfect truck!
The Best
I am extremely happy with the Ridgeline. The storage space is unbeleiveable-rubber bottoms on all of the dash board holders. Always four wheel drive. The lines of the truck, the smooth ride, everything. I have owned Fords, Chevrolets, and Toyotas, but I think I have a real winner with the Ridgeline.
Great but not perfect
The Ridgeline is a very impressive truck, and it is a Honda through and through. The engineering, design and build quality are impecable. I do, however, have two issues with the truck. First, the darn thing beeps at you every half mile until you put your seat belt on. I get it after the first beep. I don't need my car strong-arming me into clicking the belt. Second, the cab could use a little more room, especially if it's going to compete with full size trucks. The size is perfect for my wife, but if I were driving it full time, I'd feel a bit cramped. The under-bed trunk is perfect. No more grocery bags sliding around in the bed.
2006 Ridgeline RTS
I didn't expect to buy this yet, as I still had 10 months left on the Tundra. But I got such a good deal with 0% financing for 5 years, that I could not resist. Only have about 150 miles on it, but I really love the way this truck rides, handles and operates for creature comfort. Will be towing a motorcycle/sidecar combination with it, so that should be interesting. It gets a lot of looks and great comments. Everywhere I go, it is really an attention getter. But it deserves it. It is one great truck. And that after 15 years of Toyotas, 3 tacos and 1 tundra. Early mileage around town is very hige teens, but too earlhy to tell. Get yours now!
Good but Not so Good
Traded a Titan for this vehicle, Ridgeline much easier to handle and more fuel efficient. Seems well built and interior styling is good, exterior is groundbreaking. Drives like a car, easy to get in/out, locking trunk under bed is the best feature. Not so good-hesitation during acceleration, air leak sounds, interior moisture, windows and now floor board. Moisture causing unpleasant odor like old shoes. Dealer has new replacement windshield on order and others are reporting moisture problems with bad welds. Didn't expect this trouble paying top dollar for top-of-the line truck. We'll see how all is repaired.
Ridgeline
This is a great vehicle for us city slickers! It seems to do eveything I want or can think of. I personally installed all of the options. Even the backup camera. The Honda installation directions are very straight forward and if you are a little handy, you can save a bunch of money.
First Honda
After leaving items at Home Depot that would not fit in my much loved Mercedes C240 AWD sport Wagon my search began for something larger. Weeks and many test drives later. I have what I think is the perfect mode of trasportation. A truck that drives like a car! The Ridgeline is a hoot to drive and has tons of room and all the safety and creature comforts of a luxury car. You must at least test drive this truck. Honda has a real winner.
Jury is still out!
I have about 5000 miles on my R-line and so far I am disappointed with the fuel economy and I have a few rattels developing inside the cab (passenger- side air bag dash unit). Overall I am satisfied with the handling and minimal road noise. I have used it to haul feed and for limited off-road situations. I would like to run it another 10,000 miles before I would recommend it to a friend.
Good quality for a truck
I have owned Hondas since 1991 and they are a reliable vehicles. I was looking for a truck and thank god Honda made a nice little truck for the money. Plus they kept the price range very similar to the other trucks in its class.
