I love this truck I've had it a couple weeks now and it's great. I wish it had a couple extra cup holders, there's only four if the rear center console is up for 5 passengers. I've had 5 trucks and this is the best ever.
My favorite vehicle
We shopped around before we decided on the Ridgeline. The safety features along with the options you can chose make it ideal for everything. It is even great on long trips, everything from gas mileage to comfort.

Excellent all around.
Bought in Oct. 2005 and have 15,000+ miles now. Bought it because of its handling, ride, interior room, and THE TRUNK. It drives like a taller, firm- riding sport sedan. Great room inside and super-practical. Wish I could get 20 MPG. Oh well - can't have everything. The RL is very close though.
versatility and roomy
Roomier interior. Fun to drive. Quality engine. Tough trunk bed. Excellent interior design.
Cajun Ridgeline
Was ready to purchase an SUV, saw Ridgeline in early March. Went to 4 different cities, 6 dealers and walked away with an exceptional deal. This is my first truck. The quality and the ride are fantastic. I am very impressed with all the safety features that come standard. My wife loves it completely. I am hoping for better gas mileage as I go. In town is 15.8 and highway is 18.9 so far. Have 1300 miles since 4/27/05 All my friends, family and neighbors are really impressed with the truck.
Love My Ridgeline
I loved the look of the Ridgeline the first time I saw it. After test driving it, I was really smitten. I bought an RTS Amazon Green model. It has a comfortable ride and doesn't feel like I'm driving a truck. Recently took it on a trip of over 500 miles roundtrip and the gas mileage was better than I anticipated, even with the air conditioning running. It ran at 22 mpg. The trunk "hidden" in the bed is the best idea. I absolutely love this vehicle.
Supercrew Convert
I bought my Ridgeline about a month ago while traveling with my family from Cincinnati to San Antonio. My 2001 F- 150 Supercrew 4x4 5.4L with only 79k miles experienced a repeated stalling problem that my dealer at home, and the one I stopped at in Memphis could not diagnose or fix. Being fed up with my second unfixable Ford of the year, I walked 3 blocks down the street to a Honda dealer and purchased my Ridgeline that afternoon. Though I had read its reviews,I was absolutely dumbfounded by how incredible it was to drive, how roomy its interior was. I own a boat, have a wife, 2 sons and 2 dogs and the Honda handles them all as well or better than my F-150, and handles like a touring sedan.
85% Perfect
I have a Volvo V70 that I drive daily (18k miles/yr), and a Mitsu Montero that I off road. I wanted one car to do it all, and the Ridgeline is almost that car. It drives VERY well, but it needs more ground clearance for off-roading. The 4x4 system is good enough, but it bottoms out too easy. The bed should be 6" longer, same as the F150 SuperCrew (5'6"). The bed needs a power outlet! The exhaust hangs low and will get destroyed off-roading. I don't climb rocks, but there are rocks on the trails and 2-track roads I take... The sound system is weak. Love the climate control. Would like to easily remove the rear seats when needed. And it needs to look "brawnier", like a Subaru Brat.
ridgeline is the best
i have put 22000 miles on in 4 months and have had no problems it is the best truck i have ever had it tows great plenty of power
my new truck
i have always wanted a ridgeline ever since they came out in 2005. i was very impressed the size and handling of this truck. it handles like a car, but you can do more with it.
The Best Truck out there
This vehicle drives great, as you drive it you can feel the power under the hood. The drive is comfortable and responsive.
Groundbreaking Utility Vehicle
Perfect vehicle for the gentleman trucker! Love the ride for everyday commuting - quiet and solid, like the outstanding Pilot that shares the garage with our new Ridgeline. Ideal for Saturday trips to Home Depot hauling landscape materials or taking furniture down to Goodwill. Great design, rugged good looks and incredible functionality (in-cab trunk compartment makes this one). Drive it and you'll want one! The Amazon Green is especially sharp.
Good Truck
Truck has been everything I expected and more. Is great in the sand on the beach and was very good in the snow. Trunk is awesome - hold lots of stuff.
really satisfied
Looked at Explorer Track and Toyota but the in bed trunk and Honda reliability got me. Priced a little high and designed a little younger than I wanted. I've got 60,000 miles on it and have only had regular service. Put 5200 mile on it on one trip in June this year and it rode great.
Bob's Truck
Best vehicle I have ever owned. I would replace with the same make and model.
2006 RTL W/Moon Roof
Awesome truck. The second week I had it I drove 1000 miles. Very comfortable, quiet and so much fun to drive. I had, however, a little whistle noise at 70mph. It seems quite a few buyers have this same phenomenon. This, however, is very minor compared to the quality of this vehicle inside and out. Honda did this one right and I'm sure will take care of the whistle noise. Very happy with my purchase.
I love my truck
My new truck is a perfect mix of a SUV and a truck. Loads fo room in the back seat and a great trunk in the bed. Im very happy with it.
Bad Air Leak
Took delevery on my new Rdgeline 8 days ago like everything OK except a bad air leak in windshield area near rearview mirrow. At 55 or 60 mph sounds like bagpipes big annoyance.
Best truck on the market
Most people who buy trucks think bigger is better. However, they never take advantage of the extra payload, power, size, etc. The ridgeline offers everything someone who wants the utility of a truck can offer. If you indeed need your truck as a "work truck," this isn't the right vehicle for you. If you need a family vehicle that will exceed every expectation of other family vehicles, the Ridgeline IS for you. How can you beat Honda reliability, resale value, safty and versatility? I have never owed a vehicle better than this one! And for all those people who claim the ridgeline isn't a truck, Honda has just redfined what a truck is!
Meets all my demands
First, the dealer experience was outstanding from no-pressure shopping, to the test drive and the conducting of negotiations via the telphone. I have had fusion spinal surgery and the firm leather seats with heating elements that cover both the bottom of the seat and the adjustable back is just what the doctor ordered. Plenty of room in the crew cab for comfortable seating both front and back. The addition of a trunk in the truck bed is pure genious. I am very happy with the composite bed and my bed extender-nice system. My wife likes the fact that she can control the temperatures on her side of the cab whether she is a passenger or the driver. The fit & finish is all Honda-they do it again.
My first Truck
I really like how the Ridgeline drives. It handles like a car with great power.
Ridgeline
Traded up from a 2004 Pilot and was pleased with the power and performance of the Ridgeline. The vehicle has over 18K miles on it and has not had one mechanical repair. The Ridgeline has a smooth shifting 5 speed automatic with plenty of power to pull a trailer, carry a load or just to pass a slower moving vehicle. Everything works perfectly. The gas mileage is a consistant 21 mpg which is reasonable using 87 octane fuel. It has high ground clearance with no real blindspots. Constantly get compliments on it. I would recommend the Ridgeline to everyone.
Love the Ridgeline!
The Ridgeline is my second Honda vehicle after having driven american cars for the past twenty-five years. This truck rides and feels like a luxury car yet handles like a sports car and possesses all attributes of a 1/2-ton pick-up truck. One test-drive and you'll be hooked! Trust me on that. Build quality is number 1 along with reliability and performance. Fuel economy is not what it should be for a 6-cylinder yet let's not forget that this vehicle is in fact a truck and not a Civic.
The best Hybrid-truck
I call it a Hybrid not because of the engine but because of the design. The inside comfort and room plus a truck bed, trunk and the reliability and engineering make this a great truck. I cannot express how nice it is to drive. I have had mine a month now and I sometime just go out for a drive in my ridgeline just to enjoy the vehicle. I have hauled a diverse payload in the past month from mulch to a ton of concrete. So far this truck has done nothing but please me.
Honda Ridgeline
I love this truck -- it drives like a car, but is so versitle -- with the bed and the trunk in the bed
This is a great truck!
This is my third new truck in 3 years. Started with a Hemi went back to a Sportrac and now the Ridgeline. The Sportrac was good but this is great. More power, better brakes ,AWD, NAV, inbed trunk etc... I use my truck for business, hauling from hardware store, loads of dirt and the normal household chores. This does them all well. The ride dynamics are much superior to any of the trucks I have owned in the past (not just the last 3 years) I don't believe that the Ridgeline will be a threat to those that need the lift kits, big knobby tires and a V8 with loud pipes, but for the average user this is the real deal.
I love it
I bought to replace the hauling capacity of a surburban and the passenger use of a GMC van. Of course not as large as the Safari van, but what a vehicle. Looks good, rides like a car and I got a good price.
Had to have
I had to have a new truck as the wife just got a new mini van, and I didn't need a van any more, so I got a Ridgeline. I am a big guy, 6'4" 300 lbs and needed something big feeling without the gas gussling effect. Drove the Honda and had to have it. Comfort is top notch, XM radio is awesome sounding and all the toys I could ever need and want. Gas mileage is a little less than I figured. About 16mpg in town, 20mpg on the road, but still better than a Trail Blazer I had. I got the extra fender flares that really add to the look of the truck, gives it that he-man take no stuff look with a trailer package. No towing yet but can't wait to try. You need to drive one.
Concur with most reviews
First and foremost, let me say, I love this car. It handles waaaay better than my 2004 Tacoma xtended cab. Gets the same or slightly better MPG. Has TONS more space in front and back (but the bed is a foot shorter!) The trunk and tailgate feature ROCK as does the rear window feature! But as far as CONS: They are all SMALL in comparison to the PROS. The non- automatic lights...hard to reach radio...ugly big silver door handles...and non extending steering column...the scratchable bed liner...all are minor, but they are notable... Other than that, the rig is great!!!
Owner
Excellent vehicle with no problems so far. Everytime I fill the tank, someone asks me about it. I've had people take a look and say they were heading right to the dealership to buy one. So versatile. Nothing else like it with Honda reliability.
Ridgeline Review
I am a first time Honda owner. For a truck, this is the best handling truck by far, that I have experienced. With the independent suspension, the ride is excellent over any type of bumps/potholes that I have encountered. No dancing of the rear end over bumps, like I had in my previous "solid rear axle" vehicle. The 5000 lb towing capacity, and the comfortable, all purpose utilitarian design of the Ridegeline are also very important to me, and I could not find another vehicle that met my requirements as well as the Ridgeline. My spouse also likes the Ridgeline as well as I do, and she is the meticulous/particular type. I expect the Ridgeline to be a very successful vehicle for Honda.
More than I expected
Honda hit the nail on the head. Functionality, yet reliability of a Honda. Plenty of room for 5 adults and enough power to pull a boat or small camper. This vehicle puts the other 4 door Sut's to shame. No options available because it's loaded with everthing you'd need to travel in comfort and style. I get looks everywhere I go.
Perfect vehicle for me
I am a father that coaches his childern in baseball and football, before the ridgeline I had to either worry about leaving the equipment in the back of a poorly secured truck bed or having the often wet equipment in the back of my SUV. I only fully used my truck for hunting trips (again hated to leave my guns in the bed of the truck) and the 4-5 home improvement jobs and 3-4 landscape jobs a year. My SUV had all of the safety features I like and a much better ride. Now I have my safe SUV and truck in one vehicle.
Still on the fence.
This is a well thought and engineered out product although pricey. Plenty of interior room, great styling and economy. It is so solid however the front seats are a bit too hard and uncomfortable. Even with full power adjustments I'm ready to get out of it after 50 miles or so. The locking and waterproof below bed trunk is great idea. The truck does seems a little top heavy in turns. Maybe Honda could offer a Sport Package w/6-Speed and 50 series tires and wheels. The power is marginal for the engine size and torque as compared to other trucks in this class. The add-on parts for this truck are ridiculously high, such as $600 for a hitch, and $500 for running boards!! I mean come on!!
My 2006 Honda Ridgeline
I purchased my Honda Ridgeline March 19, 2005. I saw it advertised on TV and went down the next day to see it. Test drove and bought it the next day. I puchased the Floor Model which had the Running Board, Mudguards and Bed Extender. I have since added Foglights, Read Sensors, Roof Rack, Window and Hood Shields, Side Protective Modlings and the Tonneau Cover. I never get tired of driving this vehicle and/or talking about it. Many people approach me and I take them though the entire Vehicle. I'm willing to say that I believe I have convinced people to go look at them. It is the most fantastic Vehicle I have ever owned and I have owned many. The ride, comfort and security are the best.
Very Practical
I recently purchased this vehicle, trading in the Chevy Avalanche for it. It was the best decision I have ever made regarding a vehicle purchase. The Ridgelines capabilities are awesome for a small truck/car. It is very fun to drive as well. And with our fuel prices being what they are today, the gas mileage makes it all the better. I have owned my Ridgeline for almost a month now and am so happy with it's performance. The body style and function are incredible. I am also the owner of a Mercedes and can honestly say that the Ridgeline's ride is a sweet, if not better than the Mercedes. I also feel very safe driving it.
Good Vehicle.
This vehicle drives and rides like a mid-size sedan. Turning radius is more than anticipated for a vehicle this size. It's brakes are superb; however, I don't use it for towing. Acceleration is acceptable and drive train is smooth. Was dissapointed with gas mileage. Could be a few mpg better. Middle arm rest needs to be re- designed to allow it to come farther forward for greater comfort and to make the internal compartments more accessible. Usual Honda reliability so far. We have three Hondas.
Honda did it again
It took Honda engineering a few years to come up with what I call the best truck on the market today. I test drove the Toyota Tundra, the Tacoma and the Nissan Titan and when I drove the Ridgeline I knew that was the one for me.
Anniversary Ridge
We bought our Ridgeline , because first it is a Honda, secondly it has features that other truck manufacturers haven't thought of or didn't care to engineer the equipment to function correctly. I don't usually purchase a first year model vehicle, but I have to GIVE EXCEPTION to Honda, they have shown, in the past, the desire to try to make a vehicle that seems to last forever. Every vehicle has a certain amount of upkeep, Honda is no exception, but if you service your Honda regulary, I believe, you will in return receive years of worry free driving.
"Not Just a Truck, It's a Honda"
I've had my Ridgeline RTL for 2 mths now & I love it. I live in Michigan. I use to sell Hondas & yes, they are quality and reliable vehicles with high resale value. My concerns with the ridgeline is that it doesn't offer rear defrost, tonnuea cover too expensive and when I play the radio, I have to turn the volume up louder than when I play a cd. Also, because of the weight of the vehicle I feel a v-8 would be better but would sacrifice fuel economy unless cylinder deactivation was offered with dual exhaust. Thinking of adding a turbo chrger if i can find one. Honda is working on a v-8 for 2010 if not sooner. Other than that I love and enjoy my truck whenever my wife is not driving it.
Almost a perfect 10
I love the smooth ride over almost any surface. The Ridgeline features superb handling, innovative storage features, and lots of power. The trunk in the bed, and swing aside tailgate are very practical design features that we use almost daily.
The BEST truck I have ever owned!
This truck is almost perfect! It would be nice if it got better gas mileage, but then it wouldn't have that awesome torque! I have pulled multiple cars and trucks out of the ditch (in snow), I have hauled a 26 foot camper over the mountains on a 5 hour trip, a 21 foot boat for 3 hours... all no problem for the RL! The performance in snow and ice is the BEST I have experienced! I have owned 4 Ford F-150s and 1 GMC Sierra and none of them performed this well in the snow (or mud). It is so well- designed and well-balanced that I don't think any truck can compete for overall performance. I have owned for 2.5 years and I have not had to have anything fixed! This is truly a great truck!
all around vehicle
This truck is fun to drive, comfortable, roomy back seat, lots of storage compartments, excellent radio and CD sound.Especially the XM and CD.I like the chunky look. Comfortable seats.Wish back seats would recline though.Glad we bought it
Best truck ever
Honda got it right with the Ridgeline. For 95% of Americans, a truck is something handy to have - not something necessary - and the focus should be on comfort rather than rugged off-roading ability. Honda knew this already and designed the Ridgeline around the driver and passengers rather than the load. For me, and most people who drive trucks, the bed is there to help me haul relatively big items, but not chunks of steel, engines, bricks, etc. The Ridgeline is the most comfortable, thoughtfully-created truck you'll ever drive in. So why many truck die-hards may balk at its lack of body-on-frame construction and solid rear axle, I'm enjoying a the quietest, smoothest riding truck ever.
Fantastic
From the time we purchased the Ridgeline all of my friends thought it was the coolest vehicle on the market, which it is! The interior design is perfect and it drives like a dream. (17 y.o. son) My son is right. Drives it more than I do. Mom was against getting any truck, until we test drove it. She fell in love immediately - interior extremely high quality as is exterior. Very comfortable, even back seat. Isn't a Luxury car - yet has a feel of luxury and quality. Runs very smooth. 6 banger - not construction worker heavy duty truck, but strong and will do more than we will ever need. I cannot say enough - best car I have ever owned in my 36 years of driving. >17 yo dad
Not a stupid big truck.
The Ridgeline handles and drives like a car. Power rear window, in bed trunk, hidden radio antenna, center console with plenty of room, all wheel drive, 60/40 rear seats that flip for hauling a bike. I could go on and on, but, true test is getting behind the wheel and take this truck for a test drive, you will be sold.
Total Satisfaction
I am not a car enthusiast, but this vehicle has made me one. I used to use my Ford Ranger to get from place to place and do occasional hauling. I now look forward to driving and I've already used the vehicle for hauling, finding the bed capacity to be at least that of the Ranger. More importantly, this car is incredibly comfortable, in every way and smooth driving. It feels very roomy inside, with plenty of leg room in front and back. There is tons of storage room, especially considering the flip up back seats and lockable trunk. There are so many places to put things that are so convenient, it's hard to explain. I can't emphasize enough how happy I am with this car.
Love My Ridgeline
We love our Ridgeline. Everything about it is practically perfect -- only exceptions are a bit of windshield noise and a bit of a blind spot on the driver's side. It handles like a dream, it fun to drive and is unusual enough to garner attention wherever we take it. The trunk is especially fine -- very handy on roadtrips. All in all, one of the best Hondas we've ever owned.
First Honda
Everyone has told me about Honda's reliability and quality. I would have to say that what they say is true. The only reason I gave the build quality an 8 is because the outside mirror switch was broken on my Ridgeline when I received it. The dealership has made good on the repair and so far everything else is working great. I broke in the Ridgeline per owners manual and am getting approx. 18 miles/gal.
2006 Ridgeline
The Ridgeline handles extremely well for a pickup truck. I like the features of having a two-way tail gate and the rear storage space. It has good power and gas mileage (I get 18 mpg for my 25 mi commute.) The rear seating is comfortable and the lift up seat feature is very convienient. I had a problem with a bumping noise in the front suspension and the dealership replaced the parts willingly. The truck has excellent support from Honda. The front seats are comfortable. I recently drove 3,000 mi on a trip without discomfort or fatigue. Overall I am very pleased with the truck.
