Best tool I own
I purchased this vehicle after LOTS of research. Not only did it meet all of my requisites, but exceeded most! A true joy to drive, it handles inclement weather like it was born to be in the rain. Comfort for five with no hump in the middle! 900 lb payload still had over 17.5 MPG. Clients love it on road trips. Valet parkers ask if I wouldn't mind having it left in front. Regularly exceeds 21MPG on extended road trips up and down the State of California. Trailer of 1500+ lbs to Vegas...no sweat. It's a Honda.
ridgeline
I bought this vechile for the saftey features as well as the space. i traded in a 03 toyota 4runner for this vechile. I have enjoyed driving it, its extremely smooth ride. the kids have more room than before. as well as having the trunk in the back. i wouldnt trade this truck.

My type of truck
I've looked and driven every truck on the market and the Ridgeline was the best vehicle for my needs. It has all the power and comfort of a sedan, but the function of a light duty truck. Plus with a 5 star crash rating, I know my family and I will be safe. All my friends have commented on the great ride and features and the ample room of the cab.
Honda Ridgeline
I am retiring in 3 months, and decided to combine my car and truck needs. This vehicle could be named "car of the year" as well as "truck of the year". We could not be happier with a vehicle.
First truck for Honda...and for me!
Always wanted a truck, not for heavy hauling, off-road riding, but for everyday stuff like picking up yard supplies, moving household stuff, transporting my motorcycle, camping, maybe towing a small boat, bringing a big TV home, etc. Have tested other small to medium size trucks and was not sure if I could have them as daily drivers. Then this came along. Drove it for a while and I knew that this is what I had been waiting for! Not a SUPER HEAVY-DUTY TRUCK or a 4X4 DIRT DIGGER, or a 10-TON PULLER, but a more civilized truck that I can also use as a car. I have been driving it for over a month now and enjoying every minute. Thanks Honda for building what I was looking for.
A must look see for Honda Lovers
For those of you that have wanted a truck but hesitated because a truck bed is not convienient for day to day around town shopping/groceries type activities, then this is the truck for you! The in bed trunk solves all your problems and it comes with the Honda Quality and attention to detail on top of it all!
GREAT TRUCK
This truck drives like a car. It is very easy to handle. The leg room is the greatest. A family can travel with comfort and carry all you need is the back. So far it has been great. It is too early to determine if the truck is reliable. I will have to see in the winter
Honda Ridgeline
This is the best vehicle that I've ever owned so far. It's a quiet ride for a truck and very good sound system. I love to drive it and so does my wife. It is a very stable ride especially on crooked roads.I really like the under bed trunk.
Honda's First Truck a Success
Had the truck about two months. Never driven a truck that is so quiet or smooth. It drives so comfortably but is still a truck.
RIDGE HAS IT ALL
The Ridgeline RTL is the best all around truck out there. Towing capacity of 5000 pounds and room for five comfortably. The inbed lockable trunk is the best feature, along with a bedliner that comes stock. The interior is plush comfortable leather and the touch screen navigation is the most technologically advanced that I have seen from any factory brand. The RTL model is truly the way to go in my opinion, a wide open moonroof and electric rear sliding window simply top off this design. And above all its a Honda so it will keep its value far far longer than any American truck that you are thinking about. Honda really did it right from the fuel economy to the rugged design.
Cajun Ridgeline
Was ready to purchase an SUV, saw Ridgeline in early March. Went to 4 different cities, 6 dealers and walked away with an exceptional deal. This is my first truck. The quality and the ride are fantastic. I am very impressed with all the safety features that come standard. My wife loves it completely. I am hoping for better gas mileage as I go. In town is 15.8 and highway is 18.9 so far. Have 1300 miles since 4/27/05 All my friends, family and neighbors are really impressed with the truck.
Love My Ridgeline
I loved the look of the Ridgeline the first time I saw it. After test driving it, I was really smitten. I bought an RTS Amazon Green model. It has a comfortable ride and doesn't feel like I'm driving a truck. Recently took it on a trip of over 500 miles roundtrip and the gas mileage was better than I anticipated, even with the air conditioning running. It ran at 22 mpg. The trunk "hidden" in the bed is the best idea. I absolutely love this vehicle.
Excellent Choice
I didn't appreciate how much I was going to like my Ridgeline until I really got to drive it off the lot to my home. It drives just like a car with all the benefits of a truck. I use the trunk all the time for everything from groceries to my kids band instruments. I haven't had any problems or complaints, but then I never expected to. I have owned many Honda's and don't plan on buying anything else. Get your Ridgeline today!
really satisfied
Looked at Explorer Track and Toyota but the in bed trunk and Honda reliability got me. Priced a little high and designed a little younger than I wanted. I've got 60,000 miles on it and have only had regular service. Put 5200 mile on it on one trip in June this year and it rode great.
Supercrew Convert
I bought my Ridgeline about a month ago while traveling with my family from Cincinnati to San Antonio. My 2001 F- 150 Supercrew 4x4 5.4L with only 79k miles experienced a repeated stalling problem that my dealer at home, and the one I stopped at in Memphis could not diagnose or fix. Being fed up with my second unfixable Ford of the year, I walked 3 blocks down the street to a Honda dealer and purchased my Ridgeline that afternoon. Though I had read its reviews,I was absolutely dumbfounded by how incredible it was to drive, how roomy its interior was. I own a boat, have a wife, 2 sons and 2 dogs and the Honda handles them all as well or better than my F-150, and handles like a touring sedan.
85% Perfect
I have a Volvo V70 that I drive daily (18k miles/yr), and a Mitsu Montero that I off road. I wanted one car to do it all, and the Ridgeline is almost that car. It drives VERY well, but it needs more ground clearance for off-roading. The 4x4 system is good enough, but it bottoms out too easy. The bed should be 6" longer, same as the F150 SuperCrew (5'6"). The bed needs a power outlet! The exhaust hangs low and will get destroyed off-roading. I don't climb rocks, but there are rocks on the trails and 2-track roads I take... The sound system is weak. Love the climate control. Would like to easily remove the rear seats when needed. And it needs to look "brawnier", like a Subaru Brat.
ridgeline is the best
i have put 22000 miles on in 4 months and have had no problems it is the best truck i have ever had it tows great plenty of power
Love IT
Bought from out of town dealer.Better deal and correct color. Transmission leaking first day. I returned to local dealer and Honda replaced with new tranny in 2 weeks time I had it back again.I really enjoyed the service dept. and the free loaner. My loaded Ridgeline has no more leaks and drives brand new again. I would buy another one for my wife.
Just the right truck
The truck is a fun truck to drive .easy to see out of nice ride on the road quite no road noise drive reel nine at all speeds
6,000 miles and ready to report
I waited till I drove the truck a while before reporting. As you can tell, I am pleased overall. The truck drives like a luxury car, it really does. If you want complaints, the only five I have are the turning radius, you can not turn the stability control off when you drop tire pressure for the beach, no trip computer on Nav unit, the bedliner/truck liner scrathes easily, and above all the gas mileage. The good however surpasses anything I have ever owned. COMFORT! i am 6'4" and love it. You know about the functionality, but there are so many little things done right, you will continue to be impressed. I still find stuff that amazes me. If gas mileage is not a big worry, buy it!
Fun Ride
This is an awesome truck, fun to drive, great in the snow.Very functional use of space for interior storage. This is a real head turner,I get all kind of looks driving down the road. This truck has very good road manners with plenty of power for freeway merging or overtaking.Very comfortable and high seat positioning.Ihave had this truck for 3 weeks and love it,but have experienced a problem already which has had my truck at the dealership for 2 days now.It seems that there is a problem with one of the multiswitches which communicates with the passenger door and the brain. This little switch is drawing to much power from the battery, thus rendering the battery dead after sitting overnight.
Glad I bought a Ridge
What a perfect vehicle. It handles so well, has get-up-and-go, has room for everything and is fun to drive. Honda did a great job. Considering it the first model year it sure is well thought out. I used to drive a '93 Accord DX coupe. What a step up in every way, except gas mileage. I highly recommend this vehicle. I'm really picky too.
My Ridgeline
The best vehicle we have owned. The ride is excellant along with the comfort. As we are campers living in the North East,we need the truck part that is availiable. The storage under the body is also very handy. As owners of a large Golden Retriever the fact that the back seats fold upmakes ample room for him.In short, there is nothing bad about this vehicle at all. Its great.
Honda did it right
Excellent truck. This is my 5th truck I have owned by far the best. Price was a little high, but the Honda quality is worth it. I recommend this truck for anyone who needs a 4 door 4WD medium duty pickup.
Super truck for Honda 1st try..
Honda, hmm??? It's a Honda. I bought it in July 2005 and boy, I put a ton of accessories on that truck and walked away w/ the price @ 35,000. Not thing to complain on ride, handling..etc, but a minor prolem for me and maybe major soon. Well I put 13,700 on this truck, I really enjoyed every bit of it, unfortunately, my truck has a major leaks. The water gets in the vehicle through unsealed body seams, front end of the vehicle. It's taking Honda three strikes to try, and now it's back to the dealership for the third time...I love everything about this truck but, minor prolem shall put down Honda's reputation, at least to me..So my suggestion is wait 'til the 2nd generation then go for it....
It's about time
I have always been a dodge/chrysler owner due to family discount. I traded a 2005 dodge 1500 4door loaded for the ridgeline because of all the trouble i had with the ram in only having it one year. The ridgeline drives and rides 100% better then the ram. The interior is more accessable from the drivers seat. The standard equipment put's ram to shame. The fact that honda is the first to come out with the truck in the bed shows me that they are thinking about the comsumer. I highly recommend this vehicle for anyone, male or female, who wants comfort, style, gas mileage, and a vehicle will give you many years of driving pleasure
Don't Ya Just Love It?
Truly a vehicle for all seasons. Payload is great, mileage for its class is awesome, comfort is nice, visibility is good (much better than the Honda Element with its nasty blindspots...have 2500 mi on it...ask me again in two years...
06 Ridgeline
Truck with car-like ride which turns heads. Decent gas mileage. Great motor and transmission. I'll probably buy another.
Bad Air Leak
Took delevery on my new Rdgeline 8 days ago like everything OK except a bad air leak in windshield area near rearview mirrow. At 55 or 60 mph sounds like bagpipes big annoyance.
I love it!!
I couldn't be happier with my Ridgeline. I wasn't expecting "great" gas mileage. NO truck will give you that. But it is better than most. But the comfort, sound system, and general quality was way above the competition. With all the magazines saying it was their choice for Truck of the Year I knew I couldn't go wrong. The week after I got mine Consumer Reports comes out and makes it their Truck of choice. If you want a farm truck forget it. But if you want a middle duty truck and comfort you can't beat it.......period..........
Solid Truck
I was a little leary of buying a first- year model vehicle, but having previously owned 4 other Hondas, I decided the risk was somewhat low. I have not been disappointed. The vehicle is well-built, extremely functional and versatile both as a family vehicle and for hauling typical household project supplies, such as wall board, paneling, cabinets, etc. Yes, the material may hang out over he tailgate by a foot and a half, or over the tailgate, but I don't find that an issue for traveling between Lowes and my house. The bed is plenty wide (over 48") to contain anything I have needed so far. Excellent vehicle, excellent quality.
Great Mid Size Truck
This truck seems far larger than it actually is, and is a joy to drive. I have found the gas mileage to be what was expected (too bad) but the quality and drivability of the truck, especially in traffic, is much better than anticipated. A telescopic steering wheel is all that is lacking in the vehicle. Pick-up is quite good, and I love the front wheel drive-AWD system. Storage is great, and it is very comfortable on long drives. The truck is rock solid!!
Always wanted a Truck
Always wanted a truck. Saw the Honda Ridgeline and fell in love with it. Got it in black and turned it into a "Harley truck"...since both my wife and I ride Harleys. Truck rides like a dream..It's got all the safety and power I need. Any my wife loves driving it! She now wears a cowboy hat!
Ridgeline
The ride, handling and utility of this truck is perfect for me. I don't need all the torque and off-road ability of a large truck. I do need a truck that is stable on ice and snow and has secure storage available.
best yet
I drove GM vans for years until they stopped making that model. I needed something to replace the van and a GM surburban that I used to haul and also pull a boat. The Ridgeline fits that dual purpose requirement for passengers and 'stuff' to a T. The fuel mileage could be better, but then again it is a truck.
Hignly Recommended
This is a GREAT vehicle. I shopped, compared, and test drove the Ford, Chevy, Nissan, Toyota, and Dodge competitors. This vehicle is in a class by itself and clearly better than the competition. After 5,500 miles and six months I can report NO PROBLEMS and no complaints. Mileage is 18-19 local, 21-23 highway, and 13 towing my pontoon boat or camper. It is extermely well designed and user- friendly. Cargo capacity and hauling are particlarly notable - locking weathertite in-bed trunk, flip-up split rear seats, flexible console configurations, etc. Solid feeling driving driving dynamics have to be experienced to be appreciated. Would I buy it again? - You bet! Recommend it to others? - I do!
Winner
Honda is at it again. This truck is great. I'm not hauling lumber, but it pulls my camper with ease and with decent economy. Great ride and of course Honda reliability.
better than expected
I have owned this truck for about 1 month now. I am very happy with it my old truck a 2005 f150 which was eating me up in fuel costs but I still wanted a big cab. I got it in this honda but gave up some bed room. Smooth ride and well built have been getting 20+ mpg on hwy and 17 in city. Going on a long trip to Oregon 1800 miles will know better after trip.
2006 Honda Ridgeline
Having had minivans in the past, I have found that it holds three big people in the back seat with room to spare. I love the way it looks. It handles wonderful and is great for moving teenagers out of the house. I did get 23 mpg on the highway with it totally full.
Great truck
I just bought this truck... my first. I was impressed with the luxurious, car like ride and side airbags being standard. The in bed trunk is huge and holds tons of stuff. Totally love this truck, didn't want to go the SUV route again. I added the optional "tonneau" cover across the bed to give it additional covered storage.
Happy camper
Very happy with this vehicle. Just took long trip, loaded cab and m/c on back. Handling, power, comfort very good.Hoped for better gas mileage. 2700 Mile trip- only 16 mpg hwy. About 13 city.
Best truck on the market
Most people who buy trucks think bigger is better. However, they never take advantage of the extra payload, power, size, etc. The ridgeline offers everything someone who wants the utility of a truck can offer. If you indeed need your truck as a "work truck," this isn't the right vehicle for you. If you need a family vehicle that will exceed every expectation of other family vehicles, the Ridgeline IS for you. How can you beat Honda reliability, resale value, safty and versatility? I have never owed a vehicle better than this one! And for all those people who claim the ridgeline isn't a truck, Honda has just redfined what a truck is!
Meets all my demands
First, the dealer experience was outstanding from no-pressure shopping, to the test drive and the conducting of negotiations via the telphone. I have had fusion spinal surgery and the firm leather seats with heating elements that cover both the bottom of the seat and the adjustable back is just what the doctor ordered. Plenty of room in the crew cab for comfortable seating both front and back. The addition of a trunk in the truck bed is pure genious. I am very happy with the composite bed and my bed extender-nice system. My wife likes the fact that she can control the temperatures on her side of the cab whether she is a passenger or the driver. The fit & finish is all Honda-they do it again.
This is a great truck!
This is my third new truck in 3 years. Started with a Hemi went back to a Sportrac and now the Ridgeline. The Sportrac was good but this is great. More power, better brakes ,AWD, NAV, inbed trunk etc... I use my truck for business, hauling from hardware store, loads of dirt and the normal household chores. This does them all well. The ride dynamics are much superior to any of the trucks I have owned in the past (not just the last 3 years) I don't believe that the Ridgeline will be a threat to those that need the lift kits, big knobby tires and a V8 with loud pipes, but for the average user this is the real deal.
I love it
I bought to replace the hauling capacity of a surburban and the passenger use of a GMC van. Of course not as large as the Safari van, but what a vehicle. Looks good, rides like a car and I got a good price.
Had to have
I had to have a new truck as the wife just got a new mini van, and I didn't need a van any more, so I got a Ridgeline. I am a big guy, 6'4" 300 lbs and needed something big feeling without the gas gussling effect. Drove the Honda and had to have it. Comfort is top notch, XM radio is awesome sounding and all the toys I could ever need and want. Gas mileage is a little less than I figured. About 16mpg in town, 20mpg on the road, but still better than a Trail Blazer I had. I got the extra fender flares that really add to the look of the truck, gives it that he-man take no stuff look with a trailer package. No towing yet but can't wait to try. You need to drive one.
Ridgeline Review
I am a first time Honda owner. For a truck, this is the best handling truck by far, that I have experienced. With the independent suspension, the ride is excellent over any type of bumps/potholes that I have encountered. No dancing of the rear end over bumps, like I had in my previous "solid rear axle" vehicle. The 5000 lb towing capacity, and the comfortable, all purpose utilitarian design of the Ridegeline are also very important to me, and I could not find another vehicle that met my requirements as well as the Ridgeline. My spouse also likes the Ridgeline as well as I do, and she is the meticulous/particular type. I expect the Ridgeline to be a very successful vehicle for Honda.
More than I expected
Honda hit the nail on the head. Functionality, yet reliability of a Honda. Plenty of room for 5 adults and enough power to pull a boat or small camper. This vehicle puts the other 4 door Sut's to shame. No options available because it's loaded with everthing you'd need to travel in comfort and style. I get looks everywhere I go.
Perfect vehicle for me
I am a father that coaches his childern in baseball and football, before the ridgeline I had to either worry about leaving the equipment in the back of a poorly secured truck bed or having the often wet equipment in the back of my SUV. I only fully used my truck for hunting trips (again hated to leave my guns in the bed of the truck) and the 4-5 home improvement jobs and 3-4 landscape jobs a year. My SUV had all of the safety features I like and a much better ride. Now I have my safe SUV and truck in one vehicle.
Still on the fence.
This is a well thought and engineered out product although pricey. Plenty of interior room, great styling and economy. It is so solid however the front seats are a bit too hard and uncomfortable. Even with full power adjustments I'm ready to get out of it after 50 miles or so. The locking and waterproof below bed trunk is great idea. The truck does seems a little top heavy in turns. Maybe Honda could offer a Sport Package w/6-Speed and 50 series tires and wheels. The power is marginal for the engine size and torque as compared to other trucks in this class. The add-on parts for this truck are ridiculously high, such as $600 for a hitch, and $500 for running boards!! I mean come on!!
