Honda goes Truck
Excellent vehicle! Perfect for the city family that needs the extra advantage of hauling, towing, and inside room. The quality is felt throughout the vehicle, from comfort to performance. If you prefer the "standard" styling of a pickup, get a Ford or Chevy. If you like thinking "out-of-the-box", get a Ridgeline. Lots of "great" reviews on this vehicle, mine included !! I'll be keeping my eye peeled for the next "new- year" model ('07). Thinking about getting a "city-truck"? Give this one a look !! The Honda should retain value as they normally do.
'06 Honda Ridgeline is the top dog!
drives like a caddy works like a truck. got the tonneau cover and runnning boards...a must have items. its a dream vehicle combining sub and pick-up trucks. RTL w/ moon roof and XM radio is super plus!

Ridgeline
Excellent ride with better than anticipated mileage. Handles well. More storage than you can imagine.
A Functional Truck with Style & Comfort
30 days and 3000 miles later has shown that the Honda Ridgeline truck is functional, yet one can still take the vehicle out on the town. A comfortable ride with style awesome sound system the Ridgeline often gets double takes from rubber neckers wondering what they just saw pass. Amazing looks, comfort, rides like a dream, and plenty of room.
AWESOME VEHICLE
I liked the looks of the Ridgeline the first time I saw it. I test drove it and bought it the next day. It is the best driving vehicle I have ever owned and driven, and I have owned quite a few in my lifetime. I never get tired of driving it and having people look at it. I guess you could say that I feel "proud" when I am driving it. I feel safe in it and know that the Ridgeline will take good care of me if I am ever in an accident. With all the airbags and the superior frame design, I know this is a very safe vehicle to drive
Great truck
Great truck, fuel economy is great for a truck 23-24 mpg on the hwy and 19-20 around town, better than every truck in its class in fuel economy. Rides like a car, handles like a car, has a lot of power for a 6 cylinder. The power rear sliding window is a great. Truck has a lot of storage - the trunk is bigger than most car trunks, can fit 3 golf bags in it and still have some room. It's the perfect truck for a family, can take the family along and still have room for stuff from home depot. The composite bed is nice - don't have to worry about dents or scratches.
Excellent Purchase
My first pick up experience. Have driven lots of 4X4's. Extrememly smooth ride on the open road. Great handling, great tight turning ratio, very, very roomy in the front. Honda took everything into consideration when planning the Ridgeline from the fold up back seats to the two way tailgate. Let's not forget the trunk space, what a novel idea! Let's not forget all the storage space in the cab itself. Cudos to the designers on this one.
This is a great all-around rig
I have had this truck for nearly 2 months now and I like it more with each day that goes by! All upside with this one. I have always purchased American made vehicles, but this purchase has been a great one.
Nice Truck!
Nice riding truck. Love the trunk space, with the removable plug so you can spray it out. Honda always thinks of the little things.
The Incredible Ridgeline
I could not be happier with my new Ridgeline, the features in this truck outperform any other truck on the market.
A Great truck with style
This is a great truck. It has all the features and luxury options that my Acura TL has and more. Besides it is very stylish and a pleasure to drive. It is capable of more than I will put to use; off road capable, heavy towing, etc. Honda high quality and long expected life are a plus over the competition. The gas mileage is not bad considering the size and weight of the vehicle and it takes Regular gas!
One Great Truck!
I've only had it for a week, but, thus far, it is fantastic! It is the most well thought out and engineered blend of truck, SUV, and car for my money. It has the finer attributes of all three. It is luxurious, comfortable, spacious, quiet, smooth, powerful, solid, tight, handles beautifully and is pretty darn fun to drive. Lots of creature comforts for a truck. It has plenty of ingenious storage and carry features, all easy to access and sensible. The Ridgeline feels solid and safe when you drive it. Air bags galore. The strong 255 HP 6 Cylinder engine just cruises right along, as quiet as many sedans. Honda did it right! It is a genuinely worthy new entry. Gas mileage isn't great, but is ok.
We Just Started!
First of all, this is an impression from only having it for a week. Smooth ride and very little engine noise while cruising, even at 80. The controls take a few moments to get used to. Tight steering feel (in a good way). Shifts are barely noticeable (5 spd auto). Overall a GREAT START for Honda and it's Ridgeline!
Best Truck Around
This truck is flat out awesome! Honda built this truck rock solid with all the features of a truck and car in mind. The toughness, power, and bed of a truck with the comfort and handling of the Honda Accord. The in-bed trunk and the dual action tailgate are by far some of the coolest features this truck has to offer!
Great vehicle
I traded my F-150 SuperCrew for the RidgeLine. Perfect vehicle for me. Has all the safety features I was looking for. It fits in my garage, and will tow my ATV, lawn tractor, and a wagon full of hay a few times a year. The storage compartment holds the groceries nicely.
Worth the money, worth the wait.
My Ridgeline is my ideal version of a 4- wheel Swiss-Army knife. Versatile, solid, powerful, quiet, lots of room for the family and gear, open bed for hauling stuff when I need to, reliable, lots of features for the price, and everyone one and their dog doesn't have one. Lack of the "herd mentality" in the design and engineering.
2006 Ridgeline RTS
I didn't expect to buy this yet, as I still had 10 months left on the Tundra. But I got such a good deal with 0% financing for 5 years, that I could not resist. Only have about 150 miles on it, but I really love the way this truck rides, handles and operates for creature comfort. Will be towing a motorcycle/sidecar combination with it, so that should be interesting. It gets a lot of looks and great comments. Everywhere I go, it is really an attention getter. But it deserves it. It is one great truck. And that after 15 years of Toyotas, 3 tacos and 1 tundra. Early mileage around town is very hige teens, but too earlhy to tell. Get yours now!
Smooth as Glass
This has been the ultimate family vehicle. We have already taken day trips with the wife and 3 kids plus the dog and its been great for all. From the room inside to the versitility of the bed/trunk. There's room for everything even when you go grocery shopping you can fit all of your grocerys in the trunk.
great for me
So far so great. This truck is everything I hoped it would be. I got it after having driven a Jaguar for a number of years. I wanted something comfortable, practical, fun, good looking and capable of handling my move to the mountains. I needed a truck that I could enjoy as both a vehicle for regular use and that could handle weekend warrior stuff. I ride a motorcycle so I wanted something that could tow my bike when needed. The Ridgeline had it all. I have had the truck for just a week so there is a lot to learn. I love it so far
What a truck
Typical Honda build quality and features. This is the reason you buy a Honda. Everything has been well thought out. Drives and handles like a vehicle with sport suspension. Ride comfort is excellent. Smooth gear shift. Dealer was great to work with.
My Ridgeline
My new Ridgeline is great and I love it as it has a roomy interior, and plenty of space inside as well as out in the cargo area. The lighting in the cargo area is great for camping and unloading other things as well, The cooler space is great as well for holding other things besides a cooler, and the tailgate works great as well. Even the wife can use it with ease! She likes to drive it even more than I do as it serves as a car and a truck. She uses it for yard sales and shoping as well. The DVD player is fantastic! The sound system that I had installed is great too. If this truck could get better gas mileage, it would be one of the best sellers on the market and the safest as well!
Great Job on Honda's First Attempt
After having F150's in the past wasn't expecting the refinement of this vehicle. WOW. More space you could ever need, great road manners and enough power that you dont really need a V8. Everything is there for towing. All coolers in drivetrain that all you need is the hitch. Am going to enjoy this truck for a long time. Great job Honda. WOW.
great truck but
I have a 2006 RTL Ridgeline. I had to bring it back to the dealer for repair to the paint in the door jams....cause dirt in the paint.....From Honda??? Bought tonneau cover and it's designed to leak in the middle?? Honda Corp claims this is a good design.... I am worried that Hondais no longer a Japanese quality concerned car company......
Like my first Honda
So far, so good. I have driven my new Honda Ridgeline RTL 1500 miles with no complaints. The interior room is excellent and more spacious than my Infinti G35. Horsepower is adequate for my driving style. This truck handles well, more like a car feel. For gas mileage, I cannot complain. On the highway I am averaging almost 20 miles per gallon. This is lower than the G35 but at least I can use regular gas in the Ridgeline. I noted some of the nice features and suggested imporvements. I would like to see improved are power passenger seats, automatic rear view mirror should be standard, thicker polymer used on bedliner, telescopic steering wheel would be nice. Price is the only major negative
Love my Truck
I love the space and the look and feel when I am driving on the freeway or in the city. So much room from the trunk to the seating space. I feel safe. I have had other cars and trucks but this one I really enjoy. It feels like I have a car and a truck.
Ridgeline Fills the Void
Got my RTS May 30,loved every second since. Considered the Dodge Dakota 4- door...then I saw the Ridgeline. Primary concern with a truck was what to do with luggage if the cab was filled with people. When the salesman showed me the under-bed trunk, I was sold. Then came the test drive. I was pleasently surprised, it drives/rides better than any truck I have ever driven. It rides and handles like the RX300 and is very quiet and solid. The storage features, under/bed trunk, 2- way tailgate are incredible. I recommend it for the person that needs a truck but doesn't want a "TRUCK." Nice enough to go out wearing a tux, tough enough for the hauling. My 8-yr old daughter thinks it's really cool!
Ridgeline is an Awesome Vehicle!
I love everything about my Ridgeline. The backseat is very comfortable, and surprisingly roomy. The in-bed trunk makes a big difference over other trucks. The back-up camera is a must- have, makes it so much safer, especially with kids around. A very fun car to drive!
Neat Ride & More
We just purchased our Ridgeline RTL the other day and took it for a weekend trip to visit my brother. I let him drive it around and he was so impressed with it that he now can hardly wait to get one for himself. Though my wife does not drive often, she is very impressed with the thought that has gone into the design for comfort and safety of our new Honda Ridgeline. I'm reluctant to refer to it as a truck as it drives more like a luxury car. The ride is excellent and it handles very well on the highway in a side cross wind. The sound system is superb. The split control heating and cooling system is a great idea. Averaged 18 MPG with a good mix of in town and on the open road.
About Time!
Been looking for a mid-size truck with all-purpose capabilities. Almost went with Tacoma just about the time the Ridgeline hit the market, and even though it's a first year model, I went with the Honda. I'm counting on Honda reliability and the fact the much of the technology was taken from the Pilot and MDX. Overall, the vehicle is just want I wanted and meets or exceeds all my expectations. I would highly recommend a few accessories that help turn an otherwise unattractive vehicle into a looker: custom Honda grill, chrome bumper kit, side body moldings, custom wheels and tires. Also take off the front license plate and you'll have a great looking truck with all the fantastic features.
Wind noise
It is fun to drive and the looks are great. It has plenty of power and the mileage seems to be outstanding for a truck.
Just Right
Needed something reliable that was comfortable and would fit in garage. The Rigdeline is perfect. Holds anything I would ever carry. Does not beat you to death on rough roads, and the 4 wheel drive is exactly what I need--extra grip in rain and snow--- I will never be up some western canyon running over boulders in super low range, and neither will 98% of all other truck drivers I know. Just a great vehicle with decent gas mileage. Exterior styling is bulky, but safe. Maybe we could get one of those Italian stylists to do the first 4 year makeover. Then it would be perfect.
My first Honda, and what a truck!
This vehicle is amazing! When I drove it off the lot, I didn't want to stop driving it. It has everything that I was looking for in a truck. A ride that is unbelievably quiet and smooth, controls that are easily accessed, great fuel economy for a q-cab 4x4. I keep saying wow everytime that I drive it and I can tell that it's a feeling that I will continue to experience every time that I hop in and turn the key.
The perfect vehicle
The perfect vehicle for people living in snow country and mountains, that hauls occasionally -- but not big horse or boat trailers. Feels and rides like a car inside, but good power and 4WD ability when needed. The "trunk" is the perfect place to store tire chains, flares, tarps, ropes, etc. I can't imagine anything better!
Good Choice
I traded a 2003 Honda Pilot for a 2006 Ridgeline because the Pilot was getting worn out and torn up using it as a pickup. Hardly knew the difference with the Ridgeline as the ride and performance feel like the same vehicle. Performance is good, and love the new features. Oil is monitored by an onboard diagnostic unit that allows you to go further between changes. I get about 7000 miles before the light comes on, so no more 3000 miles/3 months. Only problem have experienced is the interior driver door handle linkage broke, covered under warranty. 17-19 MPG as a Houston commuter. Don't plan on using it to move or carry a king size mattress, the 5' bed is small, but big enough for me!
Part Time Pickup
I've been very impressed with the quality and with the handling. It is just enough pickup for what I need and will fit in my garage (barely).
We Love Our Ridgeline!
After three months and 6,000 miles, including a 3,500 mile roundtrip journey between Ohio and Texas, my wife and I love our Ridgeline. It's everything as advertised, and more. The ride is unbelievably smooth, quiet and comfortable. The dual climate control is fantastic. The EPA Mileage Rating of 21 MPG rang true. The in- bed trunk provides all the secure storage space one could ask for, and it's truly weather proofed. We drove through some serious thunderstorms, and several car washes to get the road grime off. Not a drop of water got inside the trunk. It also makes a great tailgate ice chest, too. Ridgeline is truly the wave of the future for any truck/suv owner.
nono
Overall I am very happy. I have owned a lot of autos and this is as close to having it all that I can get. Very versatile. handles like a sports car, will haul my atv, has 4x4, will seat 5. nice ride on highway. not like all the rest. a style all it's own.
Honda Ridgeline: a benchmark vehicle
Leave it to Honda to show the truck world how to do it right. The Ridgeline is such an innovative, intelligent design, we can look forward to Ford, GM, and Dodge copying its features over the next few years. It is hands down the best riding truck on the road! It is safer and better built than any domestic truck. Most people who buy the gargantuan F- 250's and F-350's don't really need the bulk, so unless you plan to haul or pull huge loads, the Ridgeline might just be the ticket.
Great Truck
Handles great and all the options are very easy to get to, for example air conditioning, radio, cruise control, and all of the features are easy and conveint. It drives like a car and has good pick up.
Excellent Blend/Cross-over vehicle
Whether you are researching the purchase of a truck,SUV, or a moderate luxury sedan-compare this vehicle-Then ask yourself "how do I use my vehicle?" I believe that Honda truely hit a huge niche with this model. It is not for everyone-don't expect to haul a loaded four horse trailer or pull down a house like an F-350. Nor should you expect to bust through mud or sand dunes like a Tacoma TRD or Grand Cheerokee. Those who are considering this model who have previously owned SUV's will most likely enjoy the additional cargo/storage space. Ever notice that SUV's keep getting larger, but the cargo space keeps getting smaller? The ride is better than any SUV or truck that I have driven.
gas hog
I really like the truck, but I wish it got better gas mileage.
Dallas
The only thing I dont like is while backing up, maybe I will get used to it eventually. Else, its everything I expected it to be...
Cajun Ridgeline
Was ready to purchase an SUV, saw Ridgeline in early March. Went to 4 different cities, 6 dealers and walked away with an exceptional deal. This is my first truck. The quality and the ride are fantastic. I am very impressed with all the safety features that come standard. My wife loves it completely. I am hoping for better gas mileage as I go. In town is 15.8 and highway is 18.9 so far. Have 1300 miles since 4/27/05 All my friends, family and neighbors are really impressed with the truck.
Love My Ridgeline
I loved the look of the Ridgeline the first time I saw it. After test driving it, I was really smitten. I bought an RTS Amazon Green model. It has a comfortable ride and doesn't feel like I'm driving a truck. Recently took it on a trip of over 500 miles roundtrip and the gas mileage was better than I anticipated, even with the air conditioning running. It ran at 22 mpg. The trunk "hidden" in the bed is the best idea. I absolutely love this vehicle.
Ridgeline
This is a great vehicle for us city slickers! It seems to do eveything I want or can think of. I personally installed all of the options. Even the backup camera. The Honda installation directions are very straight forward and if you are a little handy, you can save a bunch of money.
really satisfied
Looked at Explorer Track and Toyota but the in bed trunk and Honda reliability got me. Priced a little high and designed a little younger than I wanted. I've got 60,000 miles on it and have only had regular service. Put 5200 mile on it on one trip in June this year and it rode great.
Supercrew Convert
I bought my Ridgeline about a month ago while traveling with my family from Cincinnati to San Antonio. My 2001 F- 150 Supercrew 4x4 5.4L with only 79k miles experienced a repeated stalling problem that my dealer at home, and the one I stopped at in Memphis could not diagnose or fix. Being fed up with my second unfixable Ford of the year, I walked 3 blocks down the street to a Honda dealer and purchased my Ridgeline that afternoon. Though I had read its reviews,I was absolutely dumbfounded by how incredible it was to drive, how roomy its interior was. I own a boat, have a wife, 2 sons and 2 dogs and the Honda handles them all as well or better than my F-150, and handles like a touring sedan.
85% Perfect
I have a Volvo V70 that I drive daily (18k miles/yr), and a Mitsu Montero that I off road. I wanted one car to do it all, and the Ridgeline is almost that car. It drives VERY well, but it needs more ground clearance for off-roading. The 4x4 system is good enough, but it bottoms out too easy. The bed should be 6" longer, same as the F150 SuperCrew (5'6"). The bed needs a power outlet! The exhaust hangs low and will get destroyed off-roading. I don't climb rocks, but there are rocks on the trails and 2-track roads I take... The sound system is weak. Love the climate control. Would like to easily remove the rear seats when needed. And it needs to look "brawnier", like a Subaru Brat.
ridgeline is the best
i have put 22000 miles on in 4 months and have had no problems it is the best truck i have ever had it tows great plenty of power
Bad Air Leak
Took delevery on my new Rdgeline 8 days ago like everything OK except a bad air leak in windshield area near rearview mirrow. At 55 or 60 mph sounds like bagpipes big annoyance.
