It's a Honda!
What can I say... it's a Honda. And for you non-Honda owners, that is a very good thing. The Ridgeline is built to last, and with usability in mind. They seem to have thought of nearly everything, from rubber floor mats that you can get dirty, to storage pockets everywhere, to a composite bed. If I had one complaint, it would be that the base RT model has too many standard features, making the base truck too expensive in my opinion. The Ridgeline definitely sells itself if you take a one for a test drive.
I love my truck
My new truck is a perfect mix of a SUV and a truck. Loads fo room in the back seat and a great trunk in the bed. Im very happy with it.

Great truck.
I'm not sure what others are saying but I tow my landscaping trailer and carry a full load of tools in the "trunk" and I have no problems what so ever. It's not a racing car but it's so quiet that I'm usually going 60 before I know it. Everyone who has driven with me has commented on how nice it rides. It isn't the usual truck configuration but once I got used to it, I love it! Most naysayers seem to be comparing this to a 8 cylinder behemoth. It's not, it's a smallish 6 but, like I said, it powers me and my equipment along just fine. I drive up a loose gravel driveway, for one of my jobs, that has a steep angle.
Honda Ridgeline
I love this truck -- it drives like a car, but is so versitle -- with the bed and the trunk in the bed
Gas Mileage
Overall a great truck. I'm a contractor, home inspector and it works great for what I do. I have over 6K miles on the truck and I haven't see any thing close the 16-21 gas mileage ratings.
The Truck for everyone
This is the best vehicle I have ever owned (I traded in an Acura TL). I needed a truck, but I am in sales and needed trunk space. I got the best of both worlds. It is bigger than you think. Longer than a Tahoe/Yukon, shorter than a Suburban/Avalanche. I would recomend this truck to anyone looking to purchase a truck.
Ridgeline
Traded up from a 2004 Pilot and was pleased with the power and performance of the Ridgeline. The vehicle has over 18K miles on it and has not had one mechanical repair. The Ridgeline has a smooth shifting 5 speed automatic with plenty of power to pull a trailer, carry a load or just to pass a slower moving vehicle. Everything works perfectly. The gas mileage is a consistant 21 mpg which is reasonable using 87 octane fuel. It has high ground clearance with no real blindspots. Constantly get compliments on it. I would recommend the Ridgeline to everyone.
The best Hybrid-truck
I call it a Hybrid not because of the engine but because of the design. The inside comfort and room plus a truck bed, trunk and the reliability and engineering make this a great truck. I cannot express how nice it is to drive. I have had mine a month now and I sometime just go out for a drive in my ridgeline just to enjoy the vehicle. I have hauled a diverse payload in the past month from mulch to a ton of concrete. So far this truck has done nothing but please me.
So Far So Good
My first impressions are: Nice lay out, trunk in bed great idea, exterior style different but seems functional, lights in bed area nice touch. Cruise control button in bad spot. More to come as I put the miles on.
My thoughts
I have just over 8000 miles on the truck already. The motor is too small. It shifts a lot trying to keep up. I feel it would get better mileage with a bigger motor. Other than that it is a great truck, we use the trunk alot. In short, it needs more horsepower.
WOW! What a Great Truck!
This think looks fantastic in person. It is a real treat to drive. Handles great and is extremely comfortable. Tons of storage and hauls evreything I need and then some. Typicaly Honda quality puts other trucks to shame.
Concur with most reviews
First and foremost, let me say, I love this car. It handles waaaay better than my 2004 Tacoma xtended cab. Gets the same or slightly better MPG. Has TONS more space in front and back (but the bed is a foot shorter!) The trunk and tailgate feature ROCK as does the rear window feature! But as far as CONS: They are all SMALL in comparison to the PROS. The non- automatic lights...hard to reach radio...ugly big silver door handles...and non extending steering column...the scratchable bed liner...all are minor, but they are notable... Other than that, the rig is great!!!
Love the "green" Truck
Rides like a car, quiet interior, handles all my outdoor gear, a trunk in the bed, and 21 mpg. So far so good. Have had to replace A/C line and get computer adjust but all is well now.
Exceeded My Expectations
This truck drives like a car and functions better than most trucks on the market. Lots of great features (in bedtrunk, great stereo, comfortable rideand seats). The only disappointment so far is thething likes gas and lots of it. Honda should consider the VCM feature likefound on the Odyssey to improve gas mileage. It looks better in person than you see on the internet.
Honda did it again
It took Honda engineering a few years to come up with what I call the best truck on the market today. I test drove the Toyota Tundra, the Tacoma and the Nissan Titan and when I drove the Ridgeline I knew that was the one for me.
Impressed
I just bought the ridgeline RTL with Moonroof. First Impression, impressed. To me it is the best blend of sedan, suv and truck. I submit that if you have to buy only one vehicle for all applications, this would be the one.You can take this one vacation, tow a 5000 load, go skiing, go pick up the 4x8 at home depot . The only limitation is carry more than 5 people.
excellent buy
What a Blast!! A really outstanding vehicle and fun also. Not only fun to drive but good looks also.
weekend warrior
After 200 miles of driving, I have no regrets for getting this truck. This truck has the right blend of luxury and performance for everyday driving. This is my first truck and it was made for the weekend warrior.I like the Tacoma but the ride was a little rough and interior was slightly spartan. Ridgeline is pricier but it has all the SUV features.
Ridgeline Kicks Butt in Texas
Traded in our 2004 Odyssey on the 06 Ridgeline -- it's a great vehicle. Comfortable, stylish and wonderful for long-distance travel. Honda's innovative storage solutions are great and the sound system is beyond our expectations. Can you tell we love our new Ridgeline?
WOOOOOOOW
After looking at all the other midsize trucks, I was impressed by all the features my truck has and others dont. The ride is smooth and the power is there. Very quiet interior, but Im always blasting the XM, that it does not matter. Excellent stock audio system! Geez, there is too many things I like about this truck, and I've run out of room. HONDA, ITS ABOUT TIME YOU BUILT A TRUCK.
Totally Awesome
I am a former Chevy guy who has gone 100% Honda in the last 3 years. Own a small company and have 4 Civics, a CRV and 05 Odysses. Had to get this Truck and love it beyond anything else I have ever owned. Fun to drive, turns head with its "grow on you" styling and people coming up and asking all about it. XM Radio is really great and super sounds. I have used it as a truck and love its versatility. Golf clubs fit below the bed and step in height is perfect. Look forward to years of driving. Redrock pearl is the color to get. My wife likes that this winter the heated seats will come in handy.
Love, LOVE the Ridgeline!
I have not had a truck since the late '80s, but needed something to haul cargo. This truck is fun to drive, along with Honda's durability, reliability and resale, I couldn't go wrong! Drives just like the 2003 Accord I traded in. Only wish I would have gotten the Navi system
alot of truck for a high price
The new Honda truck is a very nice truck, but I feel it`s too much money for what you get, You can still get a truck at 80% of a Honda in a Ford 150 at about 10,000- less when ford is on sale. Honda needs to compete. On the truck, it needs more leg room in rear, also the gauges are tilted away from you behind the wheel, that has to change, and for sure you will pull out your back when you try to get something out of that back trunk, you have to lean over the tail gate. And the radio set up is very blah. But the seats and truck looks are very nice.
Great planning
Just gave my wife my 05 pilot and bought the Ridgeline. This is also first truck I have owned. After seeing and driving it, I was taken by car like ride and Honda quality. Creative engineering, such as amazing room, teriffic options, trunk in truck bed, and outstanding sound system. This is my fourth Honda and I will keep buying as long as they continue to get it right!
Great Truck
I've had my Ridgeline for 4 months now and have really enjoyed every minute of it. I have to fight my wife to drive it. It drives and rides better than my Honda Van. This is a great truck and you will know it when you get in one and drive it. I've seen only a few on the road since I bought mine and when you see someone driving one you both have that same look. The look of the satisfaction. You both know what the other is experiencing. cjh
Honda Truck
This Honda truck is smooth, quiet, has lots of power and the interior is roomy & comfortable. Rides like a car, turns on a dime - I miss the keypad entry system my Ford had, but the Honda is worth every penny! It is fun & sporty, the sound system is awesome (inlcudes XM radio), & the navigation system comes in handy. It seems to have the typical Honda quality and construction.
Great Fun
This Truck is a wonderful in between for people who want a truck and need room for a family. I was real suprised with the way it drove. It rides almost like a car. I was also able to take it off road and was really impressed with the way it handled. I think Honda gave this market exactly what it needed.
Love my Ridgeline
No matter what the pundits say, I love my Ridgeline and have nothing but great things to say about, plus I have had absolutely NOTHING go wrong. Would purchase another one in a heartbeart...
Personal
I shopped extensively before buying this vehicle. I decided on the Ridgeline because of Honda's reputation for quality and its practicality. It doesn't handle the way most trucks do. It's about the same length as a single cab pickup so parking lots are easy! The truck hasn't developed any rattles and the road noise in muted, umlike my first Honda, the Pilot. I kept that Honda two months before trading it for a Chevrolet truck. I am so much happier with this truck than the Pilot. The seats will make you feel like driving for hours. The navigation ,satellite radio are wonderful, though I found myself in front of a residential home rather than a pancake house in San Antonio.
Will keep for a long time
I have owned a "traditional" American pickup and they are okay. If you want value and a vehicle that exceeds your expectations then this it. The thought and engineering that was put in this truck should make the big three truck makers wonder why didn't we think of that long ago. This truck is definitely more than an Accord on steroids!
Honda Ridgeline RTL
We just took delivery on a new Ridgeline RTL with moonroof. Initial impression: WOW! This is my first truck although you can hardly tell that it's a truck. It rides like a well-mannered SUV (ie Pilot or MDX). It is quiet inside, very roomy and loaded with all kinds of innovative storage ideas. Plenty of power although I'm sure it would be challenged if I ever decided to tow something. This is certainly not my intent. Rather, it will be a great vehicle for garden center runs, any other light duty hauling. Frontier, Tacoma, even F150 shoppers should drive this vehicle before making a buying decision.
Cool Truck
Just bought my new Ridgeline and it's a very cool truck. The ride is better than the Pilot imo. If you haven't driven one yet, go and drive one. You'll be impressed how Honda did with it's 1st truck.
I Love it!
INever thought I would buy a pick up truck! but I am so happy i did. I love the extreme styling, the car like drivability and the functionality. Honda should refine some rough edges like: no driver's side vanity mirror, no mp3 player capability unless you buy a $700.00 option, no roof rack, running boards, towing package (things that come standard in other trucks on its class). I guess they want you to spend another 3k before you are all done with it. In general I am very happy I got it! At least for a while I will be almost the only one on the road with it :)
fun honda
Being the first truck from Honda, they went all out on this very user friendly, fun to drive sports truck, with it's VTEC V6 engine, there's no problem getting up to the desired speed!
Riding the Ridge'
Truck has an excellent ride, like a large Accord, plenty of power. A few quality concerns in the beginning but I'm sure mine was one of the first off the line, all have been corrected. Stock Stereo is great, very comfortable and quiet interior. Exterior design is growing on me, NAVI is very user friendly and can be voice activated. Gas mileage has been so so during the break-in period probably about 16mpg. mixed driving. Take one for a drive it's packed with Honda innovation. Honda can't miss with this one. 3 months free XM is nice it's easy to get hooked.
Honda Ridgeline Worth Looking At!
Well, Honda has done it the first time around. Sure, this trunk is not a Dodge Ram, but it never was meant to be. This is a crossover between your SUV and your F-150. For those of us that want all of the options of your favorite luxury car, but need space to haul stuff, this is the perfect fit! No doubt, this truck will win many awards including truck of the year because it is innovative and unique. How the frame was designed and the independent 4 wheel suspension is a first for a truck. Drive one and you will see why!!!
First 3,000 miles
I bought this truck for sales and travel purposes with storage. I travel all over the USA representing a line construction tools. For years I used a Dodge Caravan with mixed feelings about having my euipment inside with me and the passengers. I thought the Ridgeline would be perfect for what I do. Living in Colorado I wouldn't think of the Ridgeline for serious off road purposes. There are too many very good trucks and SUV's for this. But if you consider the Ridgeline for light industrial usage and having to get to worksites and traveling long distances for a living, this is it! My gas mileage so far just under 20 mph on the hiway. 17 mph in town.
First 1000 miles impression
I have taken this truck through snow, sleet, storm and ice in the last 3 weeks. There is nothing that was unexpected or undesirable. I did not try off-road becasue I do not intend to go thru mud. Basically, this is a truck that drives almost like a car. I looked at the other mid-size trucks, but they do not have all the luxury features.
WOW - What a first impression
I have only owned my Ridgeline for a couple of days, but what a couple of days it has been. I was not sure I liked the looks of the truck when I first saw it. But after comparing and reviewing other models and trucks I decided to take one for a test drive. I was hooked as soon as I started to drive. The cabin inside is luxiourious, comfortable, and well thought out. Storage space is close to overwhelming with the coolest center console I have ever seen. The truck truly drives like a fine tuned machine with no shacks, shimmies, or jolts: I think it rides better than my Accord EX I just traded in. The power is good and strong and will not leave standing at a stop light. I love my truck
Best Everday Vehicle Ever
Have now had my truck for 3-1/2 years and 113,000 miles. Has done everything I needed from towing my ski boat (3000 #) in the summer to driving Stevens Pass 14,500 feet of elevation in the snow every weekend in the winter. It has been my daily driver as a salesperson and had never given me a problem. I have averaged 18 MPG on a daily basis.
The BEST truck I have ever owned!
This truck is almost perfect! It would be nice if it got better gas mileage, but then it wouldn't have that awesome torque! I have pulled multiple cars and trucks out of the ditch (in snow), I have hauled a 26 foot camper over the mountains on a 5 hour trip, a 21 foot boat for 3 hours... all no problem for the RL! The performance in snow and ice is the BEST I have experienced! I have owned 4 Ford F-150s and 1 GMC Sierra and none of them performed this well in the snow (or mud). It is so well- designed and well-balanced that I don't think any truck can compete for overall performance. I have owned for 2.5 years and I have not had to have anything fixed! This is truly a great truck!
Honda Ridgeline
Just drove the Ridgline 2,700 miles. Front seats very comfortable for ten hours of steady driving. Ride comfort was pleasant. Avg mpg 21 incl mostly interstate at 65-70 mph. Loved the lockable in bed trunk. Recommend this Honda product for anyone needing the usefulness of truck for small homeowner type jobs and one not requiring a comfortable back seat.
Great Truck
This vehicle is awesome. The design and engineering is leading edge. It won't be long before all pick-up trucks come with trunks. I traded in a Dodge Dakota for the Ridgeline and there is simply no comparison. The Navigation system, moonroof and plush back seat make the Dakota a dinosaur who's time has passed.
Perfection
This is absolutely the best vehicle I have ever owned. Having been through a sedan, two trucks and an SUV, I have finally found a vehicle that has the best components of each for a family. It drives like a car. The inside is as roomy as an SUV and accomodates car seats nicely. It is terrific for occassionally hauling items in a truck bed, and best of all it has a great trunk! If you don't test drive one, you won't realize what a terrific car it is. Honda has really gotten this one right. It is also much more attractive in person (both inside and outside) than the pictures would lead you to believe.
Love my Ridgeline
I have a silver RTL with Nav and 11k miles on it since May '05. Previous vehicle, 2002 Toyota Landcruiser (Very well made, I liked it very much). The Honda has better gas mileage, 17 to 19 mpg, and almost 1/2 the price of the Toy. I enjoy driving the Ridgeline and often take it to Oregon (I live in the SFO bay area.) It's quite comfortable but I have to duck my head to get in it, probably because it has a sunroof and I am 6'-3" 250lbs (same problem with the Toy). I back my 2000 Artic Cat 500cc ATV in the back, tailgate down and tow it with no problem. A great truck for me, I am a devoted fan so far.
Best Truck Ever?
I fell in love with this truck. After driving many american pickups, this one blew them away! i highly recommend this truck!
A New Benchmark for Trucks
It took Honda a long time to decide to build a pickup, but I am glad they finally did. This truck is fantastic. I had a 2004 Toyota Tacoma before the Ridgeline. What a difference! The Honda is vastly superior in every respect. It's design is very intelligent. The ride is amazing! It's simply the best riding truck ever. It is roomy and comfortable. The trunk in the truck bed and the two-way tailgate are wonderful features. It has standard 4 wheel drive, traction control and side air curtains. Since it's a Honda, it will do well in crash tests. It has plenty of power and gets decent mileage on regular. All in all, it is a versatile truck that others will be copying for years.
Ridgleline has Some Neat Surprises
Just bought the RL with Navi and XM sat. radio. The build quality has been excellent honda style. Pretty smooth riding vehicle up to about 80MPH beyond that it gets a little less smooth. The Navi system is incredible with the touchscreen and voice activation for all of the major cabin controll systems. The XM sat. radio is also excellent especially traveling in the rural areas. Overall comfort is quite good with supportive leather seating. Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the vehicle so far.
Ridgeline
Excellent vehicle to drive, have had it in a snow storm, handled very well, mileage around 19.5 to 19.8 mpg, still new. Love the trunk feature....
First in Cincinnati
Great Performance except when the A/C is on. With the A/C on, the automatic transmission shifts up and down often. Great features, like the trunk,GPS, XM Radio. Matter of fact, the radio is fantastic. The truck is more quite than others that I have driven. Nice interior for a truck. The worst attribute is the poor mpg. I have averaged between 15+ to 16+ mpg. including expressway driving.
