Used 2009 Ford Taurus Consumer Reviews
Experience With New 2008 Ford Taurus
In nearly 11,000 miles, I have found the car to be excellent. With 60 yrs, +900,000 miles, of driving experience in all makes of automobiles, I consider it one of the best cars I have ever purchased. It is comfortable, roomy, quiet, smooth, reliable, safe and peppy. I get >27 mpg hiway, 23.3 overall & I'm not a slow driver. Appearance - very good, finish - superb, both in & out. I'm baffled how your review can be so negative. I disagree with almost every rating, e.g. brakes are not mushy. I find them to be quick & very effective. Same for steering - precise with litle body roll & stable on all road conditions.
A Great Car
Expert or no expert this is simply a very good car!!. I am a fan of any car company when it comes to purchasing a vehicle. This car has everything I wanted and more! From safety to fuel economy, by far it is one of the best purchase of any car on the road. Hands down the 2008-09 Ford Taurus is the best car on the road for the money. I am not getting paid to advertise. All I can say is drive one and you will like what you see too!!
Better than my Crown Vic
This car replaced a 2002 performance package Crown vVc - and is the only car we liked when shopping for a new car. It drives like a much larger car and feels like a rear wheel drive car. We dislike front wheel drive torque steer common in so many of today's cars. The Taurus has none of that and has great road manners. I know it's not the fastest, or the sportiest, but it represents great a great balance of comfort, performance, utility and economy. To me that is the mark of a great car. This is a great car!
Finally an American car steps up!
What a score for Ford! The fuel economy and safety are great, but what really sold me was the interior space. I am a 6'8" 300 pound man, and this car gives me room to spare. Mix all that together with the European design and this is the best American sedan i've ever driven.
A trooper!
I ended up here looking for seat covers or replacement seats as this now, 16 year old car, has finally given into ripped leather. My odometer is at 364,203 currently and no dash lights. I drive to work every day and occasionally take it on 8+ hour trips. She's definitely getting old, but is fairly well maintained with the usual oil changes. Nothing special has been done. I can hit 90 rather quickly when using the on ramp just to get her moving a little bit. The front bumper has been replaced a few times at home from deer and a dog. I replaced the headlights for LEDs last year as the factory lights were not as bright as they once were. My only issue is the transmission. Not happy. Having spent so much time driving, I can dance around the finicky aspect it brings. Reverse is hard on it otherwise and the very rare stick in 1st. After a turn off and back on, we're back on the road. I can tell the bearings are ready for a swap and the A/C isn't exactly cold. But back to the odometer reading. That is A LOT of miles on any vehicle. Ford did a great job with this car and I have seen other Taurus' with almost as many miles. Certainly a worthy buy.
