It started with a crack in the windshield that wasn't caused by road debris. Not covered by Audi but I had glass insurance on my auto policy. Next came the GPS system getting lost. It took 12 days to fix due to parts. Then came warning lights coming on telling of steering malfunction and distance errors. That was caused by a loose wire to a sensor another few days in the shop. The latest is a drivetrain warning that is real. The whole car started vibrating. It goes back on Monday. This is all in the space of less than 9 months. Really poor quality!!! It's been 6 months and there haven't been any additional problems so I'm upping my review to 3 stars. It is a nice vehicle but the original quality was very poor. One other note. If you are interested in a remote starter, forget Audi. Second update In the past year I've had 3 instances of losing power and a warning coming up that stated drive train malfunction. If I turned the car off and restarted it went away. Checking on the internet, I'm not alone regarding this problem and apparently Audi can't find it because it's gone when they look for it. I will be dumping this vehicle before my warranty expires. I'm done with Audi. Third update - water pump went after 34,000 miles. I was told that if it wasn't still under warranty, it would have cost me about $1,600.

I got this car for its high towing capacity for a car this size, and it can fit in a standard garage. I terms of power, it has plenty, and the 3.0 liter has to turbo lag, because it has a supercharger. In terms of negatives are the run-flat tires which give a rough ride, and with no spare tire, I hope they work. Tire technology is evolving so hopefully new self-repairing tires will replace them soon. All the driver assistance features work pretty well, but they can be complex to learn. On other Audi's and on the 2020 Q7 they have gone to a touchscreen display, but in AZ where its bright and hot, the touchscreens are not good. I'm glad I got this version before the change. Only had the car a few weeks, but so far, so good. Just be warned, this car, and maybe many today are complex and take some time to learn. Many of the "features" can be more annoying than helpful, until you learn how to turn them off. The third row seats are really emergency only but good to have. I have the 23 speaker audio system, and in my opinion, sound could be better. Also, many warning messages are useless. They tell you to see the users guide. Yeah right. Good luck finding anything in it. Overall, a solid car, not cheap, but worth the cost. Update: While the car is performing good, there are some annoyances that have come up. One is the navigation system that doesn't seem to recognize commands good (this is the Google based system, not Siri with Apple Carplay) For example, I said "Go to McDonalds" a very simple command, and it came back asking me if I meant McDonald Mortuary about 500 miles away. Its often very hard to pinpoint a destination. Second, the engine stop-start drives me batty. Not the system working, but what it does when I put my car in the garage, or stop by my mailbox to get my mail. One of three things happen, 1) nothing, the car engine stays running, 2) the engine stops, but the car is still "ready" or 3) the car turns completely off. Ir seems almost completely random what it picks. So go get my mail, and say #3 occurs, now when I get back in the car, I have to press the start/stop button to get going. If #2 occurred, and I press the start/stop button, now the car will turn off, so I have to press it again to start it. Often, I'll pull in my garage, and the car will go off, so not realizing it I press the start/stop to turn the car off, like a normal person would, and the car starts. Hopefully whomever in Germany who created this system was fired. There there is the automatic front breaking. Twice it has thought I was going to crash into something, and nothing was really there. Luckily, it didn't slam on the brakes, just the working display turned on. Finally this car has adoptive cruise control and it reads the speed limit signs. Lets say the speed limit is 45 but I boost it up to 50. Everything is fine until the speed limit changes to 40. Now the car will slam on the brakes to go 40, but the traffic was moving at 50. How I haven't been rear-ended, I do not know. Some of this is not the car's fault, but where humans just ignore stupid speed limit changes, this car follows them. I was driving on the highway to 65, the speed limit, and out-of-the-blue, maybe on a side street it sees a 35mph sign, slams on the brakes again. This is VERY VERY dangerous. In general, this is a car that thinks its smarter than it actually is, causing you to have to undo its wrong decisions. And in an attempt to follow speed limits to the tee, it will likely cause more accidents.

Premium Ride; Arrive in style and comfort.

Audi Q7 is by far one of the best driving SUVs I have owned. Now, before I go further; I have to be clear about this: This is a premium ride. It is meant for people who do not mind paying a premium for maintenance in terms of gas and normal maintenance. I have seen several one star reviews on here and other sites because the tires were $350 a piece. One has to be realistic; the OEM tires are made in Germany by Goodyear and commands a premium price since they are runflats and due to the unique size which is not commonly produced. Now to the car: The car drives and handles perfectly for its size. For most people, the 2.0T (Turbo) is more than adequate but the 3.0TFSI (supercharged) provides excellent acceleration when the car is loaded with 6 people and their stuff. I own the 3.0TFSI, and the supercharger noise is very muted and not annoying. The ride comfort is excellent and the vehicle corners without too much lean. The space in 3rd row is more than adequate for kids but adults may find it a bit tight during long trips. The 2nd row does fold, slide, or flip up (unlike The Benz GLS450 which does not slide). The virtual cockpit and the controls require a steep learning curve. The models with Driver Assist packages is an excellent option if you are living in congested areas or in areas with stop-and-go traffic. Yes, the vehicle requires premium gas due to the forced-induction motor, but the gas mileage is excellent (approx 30 in highway @70-75 mph, and approx 18 to 20 in city, avg is approx 18 to 19 for the year in mixed driving). The build quality and build materials are exceptional. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase of this vehicle. Update: No complaints! Regular oil changes; had a recall done by Audi. Overall impressive vehicle. I was saddened to see the supercharged engine go away with the new model!

2019 Q7 3.0 is a nice car but has some issues. For a $70K German luxury car the seating is uncomfortable and needs more adjustments, acceleration from a stop is often jerky, virtually no storage and the most glaring shortcoming is the oil consumption....in 4800 miles I have added 2.5 quarts. Hind sight I have found numerous complaints about Audi engines and excessive oil consumption.

Fantastic except for FATAL FLAW & Expensive

Bought a loaded 2019 prestige which with taxes and prepaid maintenance was over $90k. Comments: B&O Sound is fantastic, Comfort Seats excellent (massage nice to keep you awake but not much more), performance and handling outstanding for an SUV, build quality and safety great, electronics relatively easy to use, good looking car. FATAL FLAW: TIRES-THERE IS NO SPARE TIRE AND TIRES ARE HARD TO FIND FOR THE 21" I have gotten an amazing 5 flat/damaged tires in 1 year and discovered the hard way that a) there was no spare tire and b) run flats only work to limp you to a service facility. Try being stuck 5 states away with a screw in your tire on a family trip on a Sunday where the nearest tire that fits your car is another 5 states away and would take 2-3 days to get to the local dealer. I got the 21" wheels which have made finding tires even harder-have YET to find an Audi dealer (my local or when have had issues while traveling) who has them in stock, much less local tire place. And every time it happens I'm looking at $700-900 between the tire cost ($300-400), mounting and balancing. Had no idea when I bought the car it didn't have a spare as this is something I just assumed it did (and I have a '16 S6 which has one). And will NEVER buy a car with any sort of large/nicer wheels without seeing what it's like to get those particular tires. Also, the car comes with Summer Tires which need to be switched for Winter Tires (separate purchase of course)...which is sort of ridiculous on an SUV, another major pain and expense.

This car is great. Has a lot of great features including the Audi virtual cockpit which is just out of this world. The 4 cylinder engine has plenty of acceleration for its size. This SUV is quick, nimble, and extremely comfortable. It will satisfy those looking for good engine performance without the sacrifice of a luxury ride. If there was a drawback I would say it's the fact that Audis do not come with remote start and their cup holders are smaller then most American made SUVs

Nice ride with confusing Interface and limitations

I have the 2.0T Premium+ with Warm weather package and a few other add-ons. I would've happily traded the tow package for Running Boards if I could've, as I know I won't be towing anything especially with a 2.0T engine. Anyways the car rides smooth and the extra 3rd row is good enough for occasional use when we have extra passenger or two. Gas mileage is not the best and I had to train myself with the gas pedal for better mileage. Interior is nice although more plastic than I preferred on a luxury vehicle. Also extremely limited storage space inside, especially the driver side compartment that serves as a not very effective arm rest and wireless phone charger. It has a very confusing or should I say not a very intuitive MMI and you have to scroll through menus and back to find something that should've been there in one particular or say multiple menus. For example if you want to add a favorite in navigation, it is not available in most of the navigation menus and you have to scroll back and forth through several menus to find it. Saving your destinations especially one's downloaded from myAudi or phone is a very long chore and confusing as well. When you send a location from phone to your Audi navigation you cannot save it to favorites right away. You have to select and engage it first as if you are driving there now and then scroll through various menus to be able to save it. Not having a touch screen complicates it further as you have to add a new name to that location even though the destination already has it and you can send it with a name and location from myAudi. Ridiculous!! Voice command is pretty much useless as it hardly ever inputs anything you say correctly other than set commands. The only time it works is when you utilize google online search instead of native voice recognition system. There are various other limitations and nags to most of the features. Opening the power tailgate and closing it between the hands-free, the FOB key, the switch on the driver door, and the trunk has it's own limitations and requirements which becomes very confusing. It works with one way in certain conditions and not in others so I never know what will work every time. I know I seem to be on a rant here but these are important misses from a higher end utility vehicle for me. Other than that the car is awesome in comfort and drive. Giving it 4 stars for that but the annoying little limitations and misses keep it from a 5.

my first Audi. Car is nice enough to drive. First, because I consider it a safety issue, the headlights STINK!!! Even to the point that I looked into upgrading them myself, even though its a leased car. (I couldn't find a replacement for the Audi system). I wonder if whomever designed the driver/front passenger area ever actually sat in/used a car before? Less storage / small item cargo space than I have ever seen in a car. No place for a phone, the beverage holders are laughably small, there is a space in between the beverage holders that is purposed for the key fob that is COMPLETELY unnecessary and 1) means the cup holders are often not large enough and 2) prevents anyone from using that space to put their phone in. The small item cargo space under the arm rests is beyond cramped. There isn't even a place to hold a paid of sunglasses (except the glove compartment). The door side cargo space is small. The cargo area in the back is much smaller in usability than it appears. And, Audi, in its infinite wisdom, provided a tire jack but no dedicated place for it and not even a tie down - it's just a cordura bundle that rolls around in the cargo area. SERIOUSLY ??? WTF Audi. Car drives fine but the inconveniences are stupid beyond belief, especially when they could have easily been overcome. I can't wait until the lease is finished (not worth Swap a Lease to me) and be done with this car. I do not recommend for the $$$.

After owning several Lexus vehicles I decided buy a Q7 with the Premium Plus package. I like the way it handles plus the interior and exterior styling are superior to the RX350L. In the first two months I owned the Q7 it had 2 major problems—speakers went out on passenger side, and tailgate wouldn’t close completely. Both issues took over a week to repair. And the touch lock/unlock for the doors doesn’t always work. You actually have to use the clicker sometimes. I haven’t had any other issues in the last 10 months so I’m hoping it will be a reliable vehicle going forward. One last thing—the lack of a spare tire is inexcusable. Had I known that I probably would not have bought this car.

I love my new Audi Q7 Premium Plus. What a looker! To keep the cost down, I went with the 4 cylinder engine. It provides plenty of power for passing and mountain driving. Rated at 7.1 secs 0-60 and governed at 130 mph. Both are plenty for me. It seems faster than my 6 cylinder Highlander was. Rides like a dream and quieter than any car I have driven. Update: Still feel the same about my exceptional car. Drives and rides like a dream. I live in the mountains and love driving the winding roads.

Pros - Well built with a great ride. Cons - Small cup holders, no center console storage, limited seat adjustments when compared to other suv's costing $70,000, too many adjustments on the instrument panel, no tire pressure read out and lastly I have consumed 1.5 quarts of oil in the first 3000 miles...not acceptable. Probably my first and last Audi.

What we like about the car - Reliable & dependable car - Powerful driving experience ( mostly driven in bay area and socal ) - Great for families ( storage works for us) . We can travel with grandparents too :p - Love the drive assist feature ( drove from SF to LA to SD multiple times without any issues) - Low maintenance so far ( year 4 ) Space for improvement - Bigger screen for entertainment cockpit. Focus on wireless driven features. - Media UX can be improved ( hard to find some features ) - Would love to upgrade to an all electric Audi Q7 but an equal model is not available. - Buying experience could be improved, dealerships are a hassle, but thats an whole industry level issue.

We leased this Audi Q7 for my wife, and for the last two years it’s been in the shop multiple times. The interior is lackluster, zero storage for anything other than The cupholders which accommodate a child Sippy Cup. The passenger seat has zero memory settings. The car came with a panoramic roof which we are unable to open because driving at speed limits of 35 mph the noise it creates is deafening. Which Audi engineers assure us is normal. The car uses oil often. With low oil light coming on constantly. The user interface is very archaic, this vehicle is a 2019 yet they user interface seems like it was out of 2006. We recently looked at Mercedes equivalent SUV and for the same price of $80,000, you get 10 times the product.

I purchased Audi Q7 for the third row seat. However after purchasing it, I found the car to lack power, the engine is constatly running over 4500 RMP just to keep up the speed. My last car was GL450 much bigger SUV, and it was running just little over 2200 RMP to keep up the speeds. If your are purchasing the Q7 make sure to purchase one with 3.0 V6, you will be very disappointed in the V4 turbo 2.0.

I bought this car in November, 4 months later I’m selling it and going back to Lexus. Garage door opener, hatch release and HORN do NOT function unless the engine is on. Parked in a parking lot with the engine off and the remote key in my pocket, I was about to get out of the car when another vehicle was backing straight into my driver’s door. I slammed on the horn, which does absolutely nothing when the engine is off. I couldn’t open my door for fear of getting hit. Why can’t the horn honk without the engine being on?? Aside from it being a safety hazard, it seems like a fairly easy thing to have functioning without the engine. ALL Audi’s need to have the engine on in order for the horn to function. It’s not a Q7 issue, it’s a Volkwagen issue…in fact, I believe it’s all German cars.

I’ve owned a number of luxury SUV’s, from BMW, Mercedes, Infiniti, Jaguar and Escalades. The Audi Q7 is my favorite. Handles great; good gas mileage; comfortable seats and very well app yes for the price. It was between this and the new Genesis SUV and I like the feel of the Audi better. Great car for the money!

Great cartoon drive. Plenty of performance. Great gas mileage for a car of this class and performance. Only drawback is expensive maintenance. This is true of all European luxury cars.
