This is our first VW since owning a Scirocco in the late 80's. We have the 2007 Jetta Wolfsburg Edition with the 6-speed automatic. We love the styling, ride, power and fuel economy of this car. But in the terms of safety, this car is fantastic with front and rear side curtain airbags. I hope we will not have to use them but if so, they're there. The power is quite adequate and we have already taken a few trips in this car and the ride is quite comfortable. Also, the heated seats are a very nice edition on those cold days. The rear seat and trunk room are very nice as well as we love to travel and can fit much luggage in the cavernous trunk. All in all, this car is a great addition.

I purchased a used 2007 VW Jetta about a year ago as my first car with 139K miles on it. I’m not sure if it is because the previous owners never took care of it, but let me give a run down of repairs so far.... 141K spark plugs and coils went out, 144k throttle body went out, now at 146k camshaft sensor and adjuster gone out. I’ve drive this car less than 8K miles and it seems I need a new repair every 2 months or less. So far I’ve paid more for the repairs than what the cars worth, and I have no choice since I don’t have enough money for a new car at the moment. The car has never broke down on me so I guess that’s a plus... Volkswagens are very high maintenance cars and sometimes I am scared to even drive it because I’m worried about the check engine light coming on... AGAIN. Stick to Toyota or Honda if you don’t want your car in the shop every couple months

Fell in Love after the first ride

I bought it in 2010 as a certified used car with 40K miles on it, and I need to say it is a blast to drive it everyday, I drove many cars before from Olds to Ford, Toyota and Chrysler but none kept me interested in keeping the car longer then 2 years. But this one is the best in quality fabrication, interior space quality and ride pleasure. I averaged about 30MPG before I changed my tires and had an allingment done now with the new ecopias it is even better new avg is 33-34 MPG and the cabin is so quiet. Also after 35k miles driven now no problems not even the rear breaks, but the dealer told me I would need to replace them after about 40K miles. I LOVE THE JETTA.

Wolfsburg Edition - Best Value

The Jetta Wolfsburg is similar to the 2.5 trim, but adds a sunroof, convincing faux leather seats, rear center armrest, alloy wheels, and floor mats in addition to the cold weather package. It is available in black, white, silver, and gray. Its understated exterior styling belies the quality of the interior. It's even more impressive at night. Soft touch materials are used extensively, and even if you find hard plastic, it has a solid, quality feel. The exception being the paper-like shift boot. The ride is firm yet very compliant, excellent road manners. Its acceleration is acceptable from stop, but highway passing is effortless to a flaw - watching for flashing lights is compromised by rear visibility.

I have owned my Jetta for almost 4 years now. I have almost 70,000 miles, and have had very few problems. My gas milage averages 23 city and 31 hwy. Car is fast, handles well, and is SUPER comfortable. The trunk is very large, I can fit a bike with the seats down. Down Side: maintenance is expensive at least 500.00 every 5,000 miles. I have had a problem with my brakes, which was not discovered in the scheduled maintenance and cost over 600.00 with the extended warranty. My air/vent dial currently does not work and air only blow on high. Who knows how much that will cost. The ipod jack should be in the arm rest and not the glove box. Next car will be a Jetta Wagon TDI, or Audi A4 wagon.
