Love the drive, don't love the time it takes to recharge. First off I was very interested in the PHEV for the tax credit and to ride HOV. Second I was coming out of a 2018 XC90 and I have to say the improvement in ride quality moving from the Volvo to the BMW was HUGE Third the speed and power of the X5 45e is impressive, even though it’s stats are not dissimilar to the X5 4.0i it … feels better Fourth the total range on a full tank and full charge is very impressive Fifth I am getting 35+ miles in electric mode and around town it’s delightful to drive Lastly, I leave the car set to hold the charge at 40% so I can always remote cool or heat and even so find my total MPG has never been less than 28MPG even on long highway trips.
