Used 2010 Toyota Corolla Consumer Reviews
2010 Corolla S
I am pretty happy. I drove so much that it paid to trade in my other car for one with high MPG. The exterior is an improvement from the previous generation. It also has the XRS odometer. I also got a lifetime powertrain warranty. Its a 100 dollar deductible, but I figure in 5 or 6 years I'll have 200K miles and get a new engine and transmission under warranty.
Better cars available than the Corolla
Toyota of Dallas has great Customer Relations, Service, and New Car Sales. I'm satisfied with them. I am not satisfied with this car. My commute is 6 miles local one-way. I average 22-23 mpg. The steering is stiff, there is a huge driver side blind spot, tire noise is very noticeable, the ABS engages even at low speeds and makes a whirring sound. Cornering and braking doesn't inspire confidence. Acceleration is jerky. Interior is cheap quality with lots of plastic. Look at the flimsy rear cup holders! I wish the headrests and armrests were softer. Lastly my change holder broke already after two months and I didn't use it once. I like the mud flaps, rear bumper protector, cargo net and tray.
Great Ride Great Price
This car is great. For the lower end LE Model it has a tone of features. It Comes with cruise, traction control, Heated mirrors, 4 speed automatic, Tells you how may miles to an empty tank. For 16,000 I am incredibly happy with what I got. It's a Toyota and it will last forever. The only complaint is the gas mileage. For a smaller car it gets 24 city and 34 hwy. With a small engine and compact size I would expect better.
Toyota quality still slipping!
This is my 6th Toyota and the worst of the lot. 3 recalls and several trips to fix broken trim, HVAC problems, engine issues etc. Toyota quality for 2010 is the worst I've seen, heard, or experienced. I think I'm done with Toyota and unless they do a quick turnaround, they are not worth their premium price. The interior design is lame and the HVAC system is laughably ridiculous - a chimp could have come up with a better design. The engine is already getting wheezy and noisy.
Good car!
I recently purchased the 2010 Corolla. It is the LE version. Not spectacular, but it is a Corolla, what do you expect? One thing I have noticed is that at half a tank of fuel I have 283 miles - no joke. I had a Tundra before, so I know how to baby and engine. Use the average miles pg display that continuously updates. You will notice that you can very easily keep it in the 40's or more. I am getting 34 miles per gallon combined. It is possible, just don't waste your time accelerating a 4 cylinder. I felt safer in the Tundra, but I prefer the fact that it gets over twice the mileage of the Tundra and that saves a couple hundred in gas a month.
Good car for the price
Leased a 2010 Corolla S (auto) to have reliable, trouble free, safe transportation for the next 3 years. I have a second kid on the way, and while my car is not the "family" car (wife drives a Sienna), there are still times we need to use my car, and the Mustang just isn't going to work with a rear facing car seat. ;) Anyways, the car is very comfortable to drive, but in no way exciting. It's basic transportation, and does well at this. The looks are sporty, but that's as far as the sportiness goes. Power is adequate, but lacking. The 4 speed transmission is outdated compared to the competition. The rated city fuel economy is optimistic. 24 mpg city is reality.
Nothing's perfect but this car is close
My wife just completed a trip and averaged 46 mpg according to the cars display window. a lot more than we thought we would get. Some people on this review page are very hard to please. This is a very nice car, I only have trouble getting into it. I'm not the tallest guy on the block but I have to work on getting into it. Our local dealer is hard to deal with, so went out of town. he is always telling me he pays the same as the other dealers, but I have to remind him he doesn't sell as low as the other dealers. We like the car, fun to drive. We just are hopeful for many miles of out of it.
EPS review
Very poor road feel. The EPS needs to be tuned for better handling characteristics.
Nice car
Nice car. Needs better interior quality. Compared to 2008 model 2010 le is heavier and slower on highways. Overall good car
Weird steering
I just bought a 2010 Corolla S 2 days ago. Great around town but very disturbing on the highway because it wanders all over. I only test drove the car in town. Now I don't want to use it for a commuter car. I'm wondering if it was damaged in transit or something. It will not track straight!
Excellent
My husband and I were very happy and pleased with the performance of the salesman. No pressure was done on his behalf. The driving was excellent, and would recommend to others.
Interior problem
Just bought the 2010 LE corolla, car performance and style looks great. We have a major issue that nobody wants to address. Toyota says you bought it now live with it. Please analyze this problem the interior material on all seats have tons of lint every time somebody sits in it. The material is very poor quality. Does anyone else have this problem? Please do a review on this subject. Defect or not?
Interior Material is linty
I read where someone else wrote about the interior material having the lint problem. I am too and feel the fabric choice is very cheap feeling and should have been a higher quality. Unfortunately, I didn't notice it until I bought the car I am very disappointed in the gas mileage because I'm only getting 28 when I thought I would get over 30 easy.
So far, so good
I have been very pleased so far. Reliable transportation and averaging 37 mpgs! Wish I could have afforded a camry, though.
Reliable car...costs too much
this a 2010 Corolla S Automatic canadian edition, drove 16000+kms for 5 months now. my last car was a 1998 corolla VE, drove it for more than 6 years and 200000+kms. Not much changes to the basic car, drives without much problem. i drive around 150kms a day on weekdays and averages 7.2liters/100kms. Good traction on snow and ice when combined with michelin X ice tires. Observations- Paint chipped off with few months, On cold mornings the accessories belt/pulley whines while starting. Both these according to Toyota Service advisor are usual and they can do nothing about it! Gear change from 2 to 3 and 3 to 4 had a slight delay, the dealership corrected it during 2nd service
2010 Toyota corolla Type S
very reliable and economical to drive. low maintenance costs car was totaled and no longer in service (too soon)

Good car
Bought this car used with 50k miles on it. Now at 110,000k. Only things that I have had to replace so far are tires, brakes, and alternator. Bought this car as a commuter vehicle because I drive 100 miles a day too and from work. I have owned a lot of cars in my day and work on them myself. I can say for the price you cannot beat this car. It is not fancy by any means, but it gets the job done. The good: gas mileage, comfortable, roomy trunk, handles good in snow for being a small light car. The bad: lacks power, drifts at highway speeds (above 75mph), road noise inside vehicle

Reliable car but headlights and paint is cheap
I bought this car used in April 2018 after I got into a accident with my 2000 avalon so the four years of owning this car it looked a brand new car at 118,000 miles but just a year later of owning it just started to show its age the paint was starting to chip already at 9 years old and the headlight assembly’s were starting to melt from the sun so I always had to get new headlight assembly’s and the car was just boring the interior plastics were breaking but the dash did hold up well but the reason why I bought it because I needed a car asap since I commute to work but it drove smooth transmission never had issues shifting into gears the starter did go out at 150,000 miles and alternator went out at 129,000 miles but that’s normal engine always ran great and it’s a fast car its quick at acceleration which impressive from something with a 4 speed automatic from 2010 that I liked about it but in January 2022 I gave it to my ex husband because I bought a brand new 2022 Kia Rio lx in aurora black and the Kia drives so much better the cvt transmission makes you feel like your floating on the road then the bare bones 4 speed automatic in the Corolla
Reliable with Care
Doesn't get any simpler than that. You take care of your car it will take care of you. You beat it and treat it like a race car it will fail you. Specifically with this car it’d be the oil changes. The 2ZR-FE engine WILL burn oil if not changed regularly. Overall a very reliable car. Just take care of it. Too many people neglect it and can’t figure out why it isn’t reliable. Lol.

2010 Corolla: It’ll get you there & take you back
My Ford Probe died in 2013 and I had to get a new car. My finances weren’t good so I bought a used 2010 Corolla LE. I abused this car. Didn’t take it for regular maintenance and oil changes. Didn’t put gas in it until the light came on (which is bad for the fuel injectors) and just disrespected it. But this little car never gave me any issues. Had to change the brakes (like all cars), replaced the radiator, and had to have the ball joints replaced. Other than that this car is incredibly reliable. This car has almost 200,000 mikes on it and is as fast and nimble as ever. When my Corolla dies (and at this point I don’t think it will because I believe it’s immortal like the Highlander) I’ll gladly buy another. If you’re single and pick up a girl on a date, it won’t seal the deal but it’ll get you to your destination and back.

Toyota reliability at its best
I own a 2010 corolla s. Bought it for my son 7 years ago with 65k miles. Now my daughter drives it. Currently has 110k on it. This year 2023 is the first time I ever had put put any money in it other than gas. And the repairs needed were standard and minimal. It needed a VVT tensioner which is a standard replacent esp after 13 years. I also had the timing chain replaced…not that it needed it, but since the original one needed to be removed to replace the VVT tensioner, it made sense to me to replace the old one. The mechanic noted that he couldn’t believe how clean the internal parts of the motor was when he was doing the repair. He even offered me $8k to buy it. Which I declined BC It would be hard to replace that car with that kind of reliability for 8k. I just put all new tires on it. The car is not garaged, so when its freezing here in the winter months. Ive never had any issues with the car starting. My daughter dives it 50 miles round trip to school and as a parent, I have total confidence this car will get her from point A to B without any problems. It’s surprisingly roomy for a compact car. I’m 5-8” 210 lbs and feel very comfortable whenever I drive it or sit as a passengar. The only complaint I have, and it’s cosmetic…is that the clear coat on the paint doesn’t hold up. Meaning it’s faded in certain spots. But my car is white and looks good from10’. For bring 2010 model year, the car still has a nice current look about it. In the end I own this car for reliability and safe transportation. And plan on keeping it until the wheels fall off.

Great Car Corolla S auto. no moonroof
I just purchased this car from dealer in GA for $16,300 included tax/dealer fee. Great car, very reliable just have 100 miles on it.
There is pros/cons! FOR ME MORE CONS THAN PROS
I had my 2010 Corolla Le for about 9 months and compared to my previous vehicles (BMW,Lexus, Hondas, Mazdas) it has been a money pit! I will not sit here and say its the car itself because it could also be the lack of care from prevous owner. Bought mine with 100,xxx miles and ditching it at 116,xxx miles!!! As i said it could be the lack of tlc given from previous owner. PROS: GOOD ON GAS COMFORTABLE INTERIOR GOOD SOUND SYSTEM (FOR STOCK) SOMEWHAT SPORTY LOOK
Toyota Carolla no good
2010 to 2016 have same problems, same engines, different body's. Do not drive them far there junk state to state driving you have to repair them a lot evaporator problems, fuel pump problems, coil packs replaced 2010 has 180,000 miles. 2016 has 75,000 miles both had work done. Toyota makes junk now these are girl driven cars. And the parts cost to much for a piss poor design. It's like no one cares about what they make anymore. The price for these cars are over priced. Don't buy these unless you want to spend $600 for the parts to keep them running. Seems like 6 months and have to fix something on them. Not dependable car

I think it’s great
Make sure the car is up to parr
where they missed
Very good build quality for the most part. But where I think they need improvement is the seats I have 10k on it the foam is not holding up. I don't know how the wiper layout ever made it to production the passenger wiper leaves its water in your line of vision (very annoying!) the climate control knobs feel cheap (vague). I am 5,8" 200# the driver door armrest is to low. The trip computer button could be in a better spot. As I said, the build quality is there but they really missed on some of the layout
Strange Behavior
While i am driving on 45 mph and i hit the brake , then remove my leg off brake the car maintain steady speed of 20 mph. So i recommend to test your car before buying it by trying same step 1-Drive on 45 mph 2-hit brakes 3- remove your leg from brakes 4-watch your car speed
Best for you money
I get a 2010 Corolla Le. I love it. I paid $15,422 for trust is the best for this you money. Fun to drive very good in gas this car do a miracle in the hwy nothing better for my money.

low mileage
I have it since 2010. I'm driving 80% - 90% on highway, around 70mph, usually full load, 4 persons. Now, it shows only 30mpg when I add gas. I've been watching in different weather, hot/warm/cool, it is around there. The meter in the car stills shows 36mpg which I don't understand. Can someone tell me why? how to improve it?
