Better than our BMW!

The 2019 Ascent Touring model has all the bells, whistles, toys and a host of safety features. Super smooth ride and plenty of power, even with passengers in all three rows. It takes regular gas and delivers about 5 mph on average than our X5! Second rot captains chairs provide excellent comfort for back seat passengers and even 3rd row is comfy for adults for short distances. Love this car!!!

2019 Ascent

48K miles on it. No major or minor problems with the car. Was able to fit 4 adults, 2 kids/child seats, one check-in-size luggage case, two in-cabin pieces and four backpacks for a short 1-2 hours ride: not extremally comfortable, but doable nonetheless. Acceleration great, no lurching at the intersections. No problems or signs of transmission malfunctioning so far. A mix of digital and analog functions of the infotainment system is much more "humane" than all-digital one in newer editions of the Subaru cars (we own a 2021 Legacy XT). Fuel consumptions within specs. Road noise is minimal, even at the high speed (70-80 mph on I-95 during trip to Florida). Best car I've ever had since 1988.

I bought this vehicle in large part based on reviews and reputation. I absolutely hate it! The 2.0 “turbo” performance is like that of a minivan and it’s fuel economy is like that of a rock crusher. Slow, 20 mpg on the highway, and slow-to-respond make this vehicle a dog. Subaru customer service will leave you more. This vehicle has already had multiple recalls since I purchased it in 2020. In all cases it takes several months before the parts arrive to fix the issues. There are lots of safety features that actually make this more dangerous to drive. The warning lights and signals advising you that you were coming up on another vehicle or changing lanes intermitenly go on and off and the vehicle slightly takes control once these come back on. Notoriously the sensors cannot read the lanes. Basically the steering wheel “corrects” and the brakes engage which could be quite dangerous when you’re out of defensive driving posture. Subaru cannot seem to determine what is wrong with us. The seats are uncomfortable on long trips and offer no lumbar support. UPDATE: I traded it in for a Nissan Pathfinder and I am quite happy with the new SUV. It’s twice the vehicle at a lower cost!

Purchased the Ascent for my wife and we're loving it! So many creature comforts and very spacious. Would definitely recommend this SUV.
