Overpriced - Lacks Technology
Excellent ride but technology definitely lags other cars. HUD is totally USELESS and a joke at best. Speed limit is displayed randomly with no logic and makes no sense. It is always on the Navigation display in the center of the dash but only on the HUD less than 5% of the time at best. Where is the logic in that? When I took it back to the dealer, they said it was designed that way to reduce the clutter on the HUD and only show up occasionally as a reminder. Are you serious? When I look for it, it is because I want or need to know speed limit where I’m driving. So now I have to look at the navigation screen in the center of the console and take my eyes off the road. This is a 2018 car and the navigation database was June 2016 almost 2 years old when purchased. That is hilarious to me. To spend that much money on a navigation system and then turn around and have to go buy an update which is 1 year old is insane. Save your money, and use your smart phone with Google Maps which is a better mapping system, more accurate, with latest data, and a better display. The PCS system does not even come remotely close to providing sufficient warning and application of the brakes to keep from hitting someone or something. There is no way you would want to be in front of a car and test the system. And in fact Lexus demonstration videos do not show any test of the system with actual people or vehicles in front of the car but a dummy is used instead. Good thing. I have ridden in a 2016 Infiniti QX60 that provides excellent warning and application of brakes. The 2018 Lexus is no comparison and the system will not adequately or safely perform. The rear hatchback will supposedly open with just a wave of your hand over the Lexus symbol. It didn’t work when they demonstrated car to me, so they had maintenance department disconnect the battery for 30 seconds and reconnected and it worked. When I went to pick the car up for delivery it did not work again. So they repeated the same battery disconnect. It worked before leaving the dealership but the following day it would not work again. I called the dealer and he said I had two options, that I could bring the car back into the dealership, or I could disconnect the battery myself and leave it disconnected for 30 seconds and then reconnect and it will start working again. Seriously? So I just bought a 60+ thousand dollar car and I am going to be disconnecting the battery to reset this system for another 24 hours. The logic for the electronic controls for the navigation system is not user-friendly at all. When you want to do something very simple you struggle through the menu items to find the screen that holds the selection you need to make and often times have to either pull out the manual or search online and find out how to get to the screen that you want to make the selection you need. There is absolutely no logic to that system. My daughters 2016 Infiniti QX 60 which is two years older has a much better and more logical menu system. I just purchased a used 2016 Ford Explorer for another daughter and you can start the car remote with the key FOB. Not so the Lexus. With the Lexus you have to use an iPhone and open an app, navigate to a page that shows “start” and push the “start” button. The fastest I have been able to start the car using that technique is 30 seconds as it is totally dependent on getting a connection. Why not use a key FOB that you could start immediately without even looking at an app on a phone. My last 2015 Lexus had a feature that would allow you to open all 4 windows and the hatchback to allow the hot air to escape before you got to car by pressing the unlock button on key FOB for longer than 2-3 seconds. Not the 2018. Have to take it back to dealer to have it reprogrammed. When I purchased this Lexus I thought I was buying a better car but I was sadly mistaken. I fully intend to sell this car and replace it with a QX 60 for at least $10,000 - $15,000 less or a new Ford Explorer with better entertainment and navigation systems. AND, Ford has a training system in their lobby to show you how to work the navigation and entertainment systems in the lobby without sitting in the car with the engine running for an hour while the dealer shows you how to work all the systems. Lexus has stood still and allowed the competition to blow past them with technology.

Great Ride-Instrumentation Poor
Great ride but the instrumentation is not for the "Grey Hairs"! Control switches are scattered about and difficult to read. Software has nice features but requires a smart phone. Phone Tech Support is lacking as agents are NOT really knowledgeable about all the features. Gas mileage on a recent 1,200 trip averaged about 25 MPG. Frontal view is terrible as it is very difficult to judge where the "real" front is located......be careful!

Love The Vehicle, However intermittent noise
Purchased Vehicle March 11, 2017. I Love The RX350 AWD. Lexus did a great job with this vehicle. I have just one irritant, there is a intermittent noise or vibration that occurs from time to time with no associated speed or condition. Every time I took it to the dealership and went on the test drive with the technician the noise did not occur and we drove the vehicle under all sorts of condition for more than an hour. So we have not been able to duplicate the issue currently. For now the noise has stopped. My fear is that it will comeback, I just wish I could get the noise to occur with the tech in the car. I'll just have to wait and see if it returns again. Over all I'm thrilled and love this vehicle. RLP.

The best of all SIX
We sold the 2017 and now have a 2020 Of all the the many features that are on this vehicle, the ones that benefit us the most are; HUD (Heads Up Display), oversized front windshield, visibility from the headlights, road stability and cruise control with radar. Of all the SUVs we have owned (6) in total, the 2020 RX 350 is even better than our 2017. With 65,000kms we traded up to a 2020 RX350. It has more features than the 2017, but we were disappointed that it did not have a style change. We expected 2020 to be the year to have a major design change. We are still very happy LEXUS owners. We sold our 2017 RX 350 to the same family that bought our 2015 ES350. They have a standing order to buy our vehicles because of the low mileage and the condition. They know we would only sell them a trouble free vehicle. The 2020 RX350 is so far trouble free and more sound proof than the 2015 or the 2017. It handles beautifully and takes road bumps without shattering our teeth. We also like the light grey interior leather. No, it isn’t hard to keep clean. Black interiors are hot and not very exciting. We like the contrast to the black exterior. Our buyer is waiting to trade up to our 2020. That will be when there is a design change.

Great ride....Poor Instrumentation
The ride is great and the interior is quite comfortable. Luggage/Cargo space is minimal. The instrumentation with it's many switches are scattered about and some are difficult to read without their display lighting on. Some software features do not work and I've been waiting over 2 weeks for their telephone support to fix the issue. I understand I'm not the only one with software issues. Their support personal are not very technically savvy with different answers to the same question. Acceleration is not very quick with a noticeable hesitation. Would probably have purchased another Audi knowing what I know now. Lexus has tried offer a high tech car, but, can't get them all to work and then their support is inadequate.
