2012 Sonata 6-speed Manual

2012 Hyundai Sonata GLS 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 6M)
I looked at a number of competitors to the Sonata, including the Accord, Mazda 6, Mazda 3, Chevy Cruze, and even the Elantra.
I kept coming back to the Sonata for its value for the money - so many standard features, roomy cabin and great gas mileage.
The Bluetooth audio works great.
The gas mileage has been outstanding.
I got the 6-speed since I love driving stick-shift.
I have been … underwhelmed with its performance.
Unfortunately, the stick is just not smooth, especially going from 2nd to 3rd gear.
I've been driving it for several months and it just doesn't feel well-tuned.
Having said that, the acceleration is great and the ride is quiet and comfortable.
Getting a new motor after 111,000 miles

2012 Hyundai Sonata GLS 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 6M)
I loved the car since the day I bought it. Fun to drive and peppy. If you are a tall person (maybe over 5'8") then I would not recommend as it is shaped like a race car without a lot of head room. I am 5'3" so it was perfect. NEVER a days trouble out of it. UNITIL one morning I cranked it, let it warm up, and pulling out of my driving it just suddenly stopped. After cranking it back … it had developed disease that sounded like a hammer beating a metal bucket. Towed it to the dealership and sure enough, the engine recall affected my car. Im getting a new engine. I plan on keeping the car...see what happens.
DON’T PURCHASE THIS CAR!

2012 Hyundai Sonata GLS 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 6M)
I purchased this 2012 model used in 2014. It was in great condition, or so what seemed to be, and I was incredibly excited to own it. Looked and felt great, good gas mileage, low miles, great safety ratings, records showed previous owner kept up with regular maintenance, no accidents, luxury style interior. However, everything started falling apart within 2 years. First, the navigation … went out, then Bluetooth, then the A/C stopped working, leather interior started wearing badly-like it was cheap, breaks began squeaking and exterior trim started getting strange fading spots. But the worst of all - the Engine BLEW after owning it less than 3 years. I discovered there was a engine recall for over 100,000 of these models. I’ve never owned a car with more problems. I took such good care of this car and did minimal driving with it, but it still failed me. The trade in value after all of this left me owing more than it was worth, so needless to say, I took a big loss on it. Save yourself the time, money and stress and look spend a bit more for a better car. I would aim for a Honda, Toyota or Nissan. Hyundai’s are off my list for good.
Not the best car

2012 Hyundai Sonata GLS 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 6M)
Good on mileage and great for the family but the engine went bad at 100k and before that had to change a lot of stuff. You would think the parts would be cheap but nope it feels like I was buying parts for a bmw
