Honda's burn oil!!!
I purchased a lightly used 2010 CR-V EX-L wo NAV. The carfax showed it had no problems, and 2 owners, both of whom took the car to the dealer for all maintenance and frequent oil changes. It was all black with black leather and looked great, so without hesitation, I bought it. Right around when the first oil change was due, and the oil percent was at 30%, I checked the oil, there was hardly any on the dipstick! I immediately changed the oil, and after 1,000 miles, it's down a quart again! Turns out it's a known problem that Honda has "sorta" addressed, but not really, and have only extended engine warranties to about 80k - no wonder they traded it in! Between that and the fact that some CR-Vs have problems with their automatic transmissions, I think this will be my last Honda unless the dealer makes it right.

6 month update
i now have nearly 5000 miles on my ex awd crv. quality, comfort, reasonable mpg ie 21-23 around town and 28 highway not to bad for awd. it is quite, handles well, and the build quality is second to none. i have had over 50 vehicles and i know a good one and this is one of the best . i have to say there is nothing that stands out that needs changing, it nearly perfect.

So far so good
Five hundred miles on the car so far and I am very pleased with the ride and fuel economy I'm getting (26-27 mpg). Switched from a 2004 Jeep Liberty. Test drove RAV4 and found it to have more road noise and gauges/clock were more difficult to read. Forester is a slug in comparison to CR-V. There is plenty of acceleration, especially where it matters - when you are trying to pass people at 75 mph on a steep hill. It's a little sluggish between 25-35 mph but you can get the acceleration you need if you're willing to be heavy footed. Interior layout is generally good. Seats are a little stiff and the lack of storage in the console is an annoyance. All in all - very happy with my decision!
Nine Months So Far So Good
I bought my CRV 9 months ago and so far I love it. My friend bought a 2010 Kia Sorento the same time I did and they've already are having problems like oil leaks and electrical failures. I would have loved the 6-cylinder upgrade option but the 4-cylinder is sufficient and the car is GREAT on gas. This is the first Honda I've ever owned and I'm not disappointed, yet.
Hate to let this great SUV go!
This has been one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. This car replaced my Toyota Tacoma pick-up and had big shoes to fill in doing that, happily I can say it more than served it's purpose for me and my family. From simply around town errand driving to long road trips, this zippy car is comfortable, has great pick-up, is safe in the wind and rain and is an all around great car. It looks like a Lexus when it has had a wash!
