Unimpressed
The seats are uncomfortable, handling and ride are poor. I am having problems with the rear differential. In the rain the when the front wheels lose traction the rear wheels suddenly kick in and the car jerks. This is very disconcerting, not a well designed AWD system.
2007 CRV IS A LEMON!
The rear Differential broke 2 times within 2 weeks and 700 miles on the car! The power steering is jittery, They also installed the ski rack on wrong and The bike rack is too high on the car to even put a bike up there. This car is nothing but problems and poor design. Also the extended warranty has about 3 pages of what it doesn't cover, and only 1 paragraph of what it does cover and maybe when you will use the $1000 dollar warranty, it may cover a radio now if you're lucky.. When I got my car back from the dealer it seems like the 4wd doesn't even work.

VERY happy with CRV-EX
Great SUV, very happy with design, comfort and engine. Honda has set a high bar for a small SUV, you cant beat the price ($22,890) and quality in my view.
consumer
I have driven Honda Accords; Nissan and Mercedes and LOVE the CR-V in comparison to the others. This is an extremely comfortable ride with versatility. I have no complaints. Aside from the real bells and whistles, this is a great auto and I HIGHLY recommend it to others.

Best crossover SUV!
What is a SUV that can get the mileage of a car? The Honda CR-V is the answer. If you're not a lead foot, gas mileage is always in the 20s and can be up to and in excess of 30. An SUV where you can get sunroof, leather, and everything save for the navi under $25k. Drives and handles nice for a SUV. Wish the leather was more plush but this is probably better for long term drives and for your back. Center console is nice. As is three power outlets. Plenty of storage compartments. Can't go wrong with this car. It is consistently a value holder and a reliability champ! Two wheel drive is all you need unless you live in a ski resort or next to the Great Lakes.
Happy with Caveats...
Overall I've been happy. Amazing cargo space, comfortable, fun, zippy and good hwy/ok city mileage. My beefs: 1) This thing goes out of alignment too easily although Chicagoland roads are horrible. 12K miles and four alignments! I take the train and my wife works 4 miles from house. 2) Body trim panels are flimsy. Spending $280 to replace poorly designed liftgate trim. Why so flimsy on a "rugged" vehicle. I look at prior models and curse the designer. 3) Paint chips and scratches too easily. I have a 2002 Outback that is wearing like iron and this car replaced a Legacy wagon that I sold for top dollar with 110K in it. I do hope this beast goes the distance like my last Honda Accord.
Rating my 2007 CV-R
Love the car. It wraps the corners like a sports car. Stops on a dime. Great looking car and gets many stares on the road. It has plenty of power. Tons of cargo space in back.
Best Buy for Small SUV
I believe this is a best buy for an owner of a small-sized SUV. 07-CRV model has all the features for a small family...with a quiet ride, sufficient power, cargo space, and safety features to protect the family. Interior features are very family- centered, and really like the exterior curves of the new model. As mentioned in a previous review article...kinda resembles a Lexus RX330..the vehicle I really wanted. Really like the real- time mpg monitor...will help improve my driving habits considering the price of fuel. The EX is probably the best-buy if you really don't need the leather...but I recommend it if you have young kids. Handling is good, and of course reliability is expected.
LOVING MY 07 CRV
Ive only owned my 07 CRV for 4 full days and so far I am loving it. With 166 hp, its not a car for speedsters, so if youre hoping to buy a fast car, stick to vehicles with V6 engines. What the CRV lacks in power, it more than makes up with its standard safety features such as ABS, VSA with traction control, EBD, TPMS to name a few. Many have written that the ride is very rough. When driving on uneven roads full of potholes or covered with rough surface, any car will feel the same way. I am not too crazy about the manually operated drivers seat height adjustment and the limited choice of colors. Overall though, it was sure worth the wait and the price wasn't that bad.
my first new car
i love almost everything about this car very stylish my family and friends say it looks like a lexus I have to agree and only a fraction of the cost a very nice makeover inside and out
Not happy with my purchase
I have owned two Honda's before this purchase. This is the first CR-V. I am not happy with it and will replace as soon as possible. The interior is cheap, there are issues with the differential that I learned have been an issue for quote some time. Now with only 22,000 miles I have to replace all 4 tires. Never had any trouble with my Honda Accord's. Should have bought another one! Miles isn't as good as I thought either. Drove terrible in the snow and ice.
Great Vehicle!
We just got this car, and after driving it around town and long distance I can truly say Honda hit a home run here. The handling is phenomenal, and at 25 MPG it certainly has a good balance of zippiness and decent mileage for a 4 Cyl. The restyling has made the interior, especially, a cross between a Honda and a VW or AUDI..very classy.
07 HONDA CRV LX AWD
I love honda cars. This is my 15 honda cars. This cr-v,one of the best on the market today to own one.
This Will Be My Last Honda!!!
We have about 65 km's on it. First off paint quality is garbage, the hatch has been repainted once already because of rust around the license plate trim. The car is full of rock chips, my sister's '05 Civic had the same paint issues! Had the rear diff fluid changed 3 times at 3 diff Honda dealerships as a 'precautionary service'. They refuse to admit there is a problem. RIDICULOUS!! Still makes a noise! Rear pads and rotors replaced at 45km's! Sometimes the car won't even crank over on the first try. My 94 Accord winter beater has 300km's and has never had any serious issues. Honda better wake up and do something fast because they are losing very loyal customers. They lost us!! Time for a Subaru.
Our best Honda yet!
Honda just keeps getting better. The wife has driven this hard for 9 months and 14,000 miles now. I suspect the car is not even broken in yet, still drives like brand new. Comfort and driveability is a strong point. I'm a big 6-1 and after a three hour trip behind the wheel, I feel like I've been sitting on my couch relaxing. A lot of thought went into the details, from the way you can configure the fold down seats to auto open for the moon roof. Every button seems to know exactly what you want to do. Gas milage is surprising for a car with this much room (seats five+stuff) 24 around town, almost 30 open road. Turning circle is crazy tight, feels like you can do a U-turn in your garage.
First Honda
Our Honda now has 53k and is over two years old. I don't understand the reviews stating poor performance. Ours has plenty of pickup. This isn't supposed to be a sports car. For the purpose of design, it's hard to beat. The CRV would not get 30mpg with a V6. Better mileage than a Subaru Outback. The gearing is so good that power levels remain more than adequate. I'm an ex-race car driver/ power enthusiast. The front brakes rattle on our dirt road. Rear pads needed replacing at 35k, tolerances too close causing corrosion and sticking with winter driving. Don't like center console. Front brakes still factory and otherwise, oil and filters only. Good snow performance with four studded winters.
An Extremely Smart Purchase
I love my CR-V. I was looking for a sedan that would fit our 5 full size family members and would replace my Audi A6 that was always in the shop (frustrating!). After a lot of research I found this fuel efficient, AWD, roomy, fun to drive car that was loaded with features and just happened to be a small SUV. In fact it was such a total package at an attractive cost I saved myself a bunch of money not buying a Japanese luxury sedan. As a bonus I can bring my two dogs along when the 5 of us go out. After 7 months of ownership I am still thrilled with the CR-V. I also have competition from other family members that want to drive my CR-V instead of our G-35 coupe and old Mercedes ML320 SUV.
2007 Honda CRV-EXL 4x2 No Nav
Picked up this car last Friday. Rear cargo ceiling seat-belt latch cover fell off in-front of sales rep. Disappointed to find no headlight auto on-off feature or Homelink. Armrest got in the way of seat belt latch. No fog lamps and top of head-rest tilts too far forward for my wife's 5' height. Interior design and head-room is excellent. Dash layout is perfectly aligned with driver. My wife pulled down the vanity mirrors and was quite upset to find each mirror without lights. Side-view mirros do not have integrated signals which doesn't make sense given the safety factor built in. Steering connects very "lightly" to the road. Would have liked the tail antenna to be replaced with small dome.
Love my CR-V
I decided to downsize for better gas mileage and to afford all the amenities and safety features. I'm so glad I did - I love my CR-V! I get about 22-25 mpg in the city, and 30+ highway (even w/4 people and luggage). This car is comfortable, cute, fun to drive, and handles like a car. The interior feels spacious. The cargo shelf doubles the space for groceries, and the folding/rumble back seats are great for carrying mid-size loads. My kids like that they can recline the back seats, as well as adjust the leg room. There's no a/c vent in the back, but it cools down quickly. Good visibility, and backup camera provide added safety. I highly recommend the CR-V!
Trading up, blast from the past
I traded in my 1995 Dodge Dakota truck for my 2007 Honda CR-V. It's been over a year since the purchase and I'm still very happy. I've owned a 1980 Honda Accord and an 1982 Civic. The CR-V reminds me of the Civic except with all the cool technology, safety equipment, and design upgrades. The handling is very smooth. I can park this thing ANYWHERE! (Unlike my old truck.) I get between 27 and 32 mpg in a mixed highway/city commute 36 miles, 5 days a week(Florida). The mpg meter really lets you see how you are driving. There was obviously a lot of thought put into the interior design of the CR-V. There is storage everywhere. Doors open wider than on other cars. Power plugs everywhere. Buy one!
New CR-V
Just bought the new Honda CR-V and I am very satisfied with my purchase. I went with the EX-L and I love the leather-heated seats and the XM radio. I was also looking at the new Hyundai Santa Fe, but decided to go with the new CR-V, after previously owning 2 Accords and considering the difference in the MPGs. So far...LOVE IT!!!
Exceeded my expectations
This SUV has it all! Great gas mileage (24 city/30 hwy MPG), sleek and roomy interior, and classy yet sporty exterior. Materials are of high quality. Safety comes standard with dual front airbags and side and curtain airbags throughout, along with 4 wheel ABS. All at a reasonable price for a car known to maintain more of its value over other manufacturers. You won't regret it!
Made for short Females
Totally made for a female. Raising the drivers seat up sends the whole seat closer to the front of the vehicle. Not enough leg room. Armrests are super tiny, my elbow is always on the edge of the rest. Other then those items, it's great. Drives like a sports car. Plenty of power, good gas mileage.
Supa Fun!
This a fun car to drive! Beautiful dashboard. Practical. Great gas mileage. Roomy backseat while not squishing knees in front.
Best Mid Size SUV
This is an excellent mid size SUV I have ever seen under $30k. The build quality is very good and fuel economy is good too. The Maintenance minder is an excellent option. But with AWD option need to change the rear fluid around 15000 miles which is not very good. Other than that, overall it is value for money SUV.
Honda 2007 CRV
I previously owned a 2005 CRV. Many terrific improvements in the 2007! Much less road noise! very comfortable and quiet. Radio with Bass boost is great. Love everything about my CRV except I was hoping for better gas milage. Combination city/highway with air conditioning going has been 22 - 23 mpg.
Love it!
This is my first SUV of any size. I downsized from a 4 dr off road F150 and thought it would take a lot to get use to. The CRV feels like a much larger vehicle but handles like a small one. We took a 3k mile trip and it handled great over to mountainous highways with about a 28 mpg average. The navigation unit makes it even more fun to drive. Whenever I get out of it I am amazed at how small i looks from the outside because it feels like a regular size vehicle.
Great Little SUV
We puchased this SUV to replace my wife's Passat Wagon. We weren't sure which we wanted, another wagon - Volvo XC70 or an SUV. We saw this on the road one day and the wife loved it. It has just enough cargo space, spacious passenger cabin, fun and easy to drive, very safe, the award winning VTEC Honda engine and great fuel economy for a decent sized SUV. Nicely equipped, excellent build quality and famed Honda reliability. The engine is responsive and quiet. We were sold on the CR-V after the test drive.
Great new CRV
Not only is the body style very much like the Acura SUV but the ride and gas mileage are great. I am getting over 30 miles per gallon on the highway and the ride is smooth and very quiet. This is truly a keeper. This is one of those vehicles that you will own for over 200,000 miles. After all its a Honda....what more could you want!!!
Love it!
I didn't fully appreciate my CR-V until I got stuck with a Trailblazer for a rental car. The car is beautiful; this is a vehicle that is comfortable enough for long road trips. The standard features (sunroof, 6 disc CD changer, mp3 jack, multiple storage compartments, etc) are endless. I have the AWD model and get 23mpg in the city. Safety features are top rated. And it's a Honda--you know it'll last! For my lifestyle, (camping, off-roading to get to hiking trails, the dog, the kids, etc.) this is the perfect vehicle. Not only would I recommend the CR-V, I would buy another one.
So Disappointed!!
My car has 65K miles on it and it won't start. The dealer is telling me that it needs a new engine!!! I had a Honda Civic before this and never any problems. I am so upset. The warranty only covers up to 60K miles, so I am just over. I made a complaint with Honda and we will see what happens. But, buyer beware... only 60K miles on the engine and mine died at 65K. I am still in shock and I have a $16K loan to deal with now.
Best overall value
Best value out there if purchasing the EX. Sure the RAV4 can be loaded with a powerful 6 cylinder, but it costs 5 grand more than the CRV. The CRV maxes its power with an efficient 5- speed automatic that delivers plenty of power [torque] off the line. It cruises quietly at high speed, gets more than 25 mpg while doing it, and is equipped with great standard features.
Excellent small SUV
If you consider getting small SUV under 25,000 $ Honda CR-V is definitely worth trying out. Before buying it I checked out Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Rav4 and CR-V was much better for me. The only drawaback for me is that 166 HP engine will not allow you to accelerate really fast. Also do not expect dealer to give you much discount from MSRP as they are selling very fast. In all other respects it is an excellent car.
Great Vehicle
I've been driving a '07 CRV for over three months. I am extremely happy with the handling and ride quality. CRV is driven on hilly, curving highways and in city. Handles both very well. Look forward to driving it EVERY time I get into it!
Great little SUV
We were shopping for something to replace my 06 Accord that was totaled in a wreck, while at the Honda dealer the new CR-V caught our eye. It wasn't even on our list. I love the new design, didn't care for the old one. There is very little road noise in the cabin. The brakes are excellent. Large cargo area, the seats fold down easily. It is so easy to drive around town, I think the front end may be shorter than the Accord so parking is a breeze.
Great and Practical Car
Overall, I find this car running smooth and well. I went through a lot of dealerships to get this car and dealt with some shady ones that wouldn't honor their written quotes, especially Hayward Honda in CA. Don't go there! They say one thing and mean the other. Exterior and interior are built well and comfortable to sit in. There is plenty of room in the cargo area, easy to take someone to the airport with lots of luggage.
Tom's New 2007 CR-V
It looks great; inside & out and is very comfortable. Its a great car for those of us who have saftey in mind. In the city the MPG has been 18-19, lower then expected. On the Hwy its better at 28-30 mpg. The pick up leaves room to be desired. It would of been nice if they had the 6 cylinder option. Overall its style, comfort and fuel ecomomy makes it. Although a little better pick up would of given it higher praises...
Amazing vehicle
This is an excellent vehicle, good mileage, powerful engine, reliable.

So-So CR-V
I bought my V new in 07'. It's been a good car with it's versatility, roominess and comfortable on trips and great road manners. But it has had some problems; engine replaced, drive pulley replaced, constant high pitched squeal with AC on at low fan speed (found TSB for- let's see if dealer will honor), and several squeaks and rattles. I've owned other Honda's, including a V, which is still in the family w/ 189K miles, but I don't think this one will last as long. I'm def. looking to trade it in already. I'm not saying people shouldn't buy the CR-V, but I would advise not to expect the same longevity as previous Honda models.
great!
i did just buy 24 hours ago but I can't get enough! The feel of the car is amazing.
Very Disappointed
Well, my girlfriend and I were all excited to drive the new CRV. It looked so cool with the new design. Of course we expected the reliability and all the nice interior amenities. We were sadly disappointed and we did not let our original anticipation blind us, as some have. Cardboard thin and awkward "captain's chairs" in the front. Skinny bench seats in the back. Hated the missing middle console, and combined with the "captain's chairs" made us feel like we were floating around. No powerseat adjustments in any trim level. Really small gauges and a noisy and wimpy 4cyl. engine sealed it's fate.
Seats not comfortable
Took a 3 hour trip and the seats are very uncomfortable. Around town is fine but for the long haul, no way.
Defective master cylinder
Honda used to be great vehicle company. Turns out after the master cylinder was replaced the problem persisted, soft brake pedal. It needed a new tire sensor which costs over $2000, what a rip off, I got a used one put it, it works better but not perfectly. I can’t believe they rip off their customers like that. I won’t buy another Honda again.

Great New SUV
I have had this car a total of 1 day. I previously had a 1999 CRv and have owned 7 Honda/Acura cars/suvs. The build quality is greatly improved over the previous CRv, plenty of fun gadgets, heated leather seats, moonroof, ABS, Tire pressure monitor, mpg gauge, XM radio with MP3 player line in. Lots of Airbags (hopefully will not be used) Overall, Nice design and shape and the fit and finish, like all Honda's, is great.
Great Car!!!
This is a fun car to drive! I was concerned about the size of the vehicle because I have kids. They fit comfortably. The car has great power and excellent gas mileage. I used to drive a Yukon Denali and was disappointed with the handling. For much less, I got a smoother ride, fun car and great gas mileage.
Unstable, unsafe, on grooved pavement
Bought the car 2 days ago, today was the first time on our lousy Hwy 101 in Santa Rosa, Ca. BUT - wherever you drive this car, if the pavement is grooved, usually a concrete road, or if there are a lot of cracks running the direction of travel, this car will be unstable. It's like the rear wheels are loose, it's annoying, I think it's unsafe, when you have many lanes of travel, and it's hard to keep the CRV in it's own lane. I travel this road all the time, my other vehicles do not act this way. And - all the Honda service department says it's the tires, and nothing can be done about it. Great, when I get sideswiped by another vehicle then what? Blame the tires !
Skid on Icy Road
I drove my CR-V 2007 Last winder. Im very disappointed. My Bro was driving Liberty in front of me. At a turn My CR-V skidded and ended up in ditch. But my bro did not have problem at all. It was scary on icy road. I could not drive it over 80 kph. If I do it would skid when hit the ice. Im not sure was it software glitch or tires. Showed to dealer they would not agree on it.
