The worse car anyone can buy
I bought this vehicle 8 months ago and let me begin by telling you how terrible this vehicle is. Since October, my braking system, shock system, rear air conditioning, timing belts and finally the torch converter have all went bad. Everything listed had to be replaced except the torch converter the Ford dealership is refusing to correct the problem. I purchased this vehicle with 22,000 miles and quite frankly this car is a piece of dirt. I am currently seeking to buy a Jeep Cherokee and love it so far. Just in case anyone reading this in the Knoxville area DO NOT do business with Ted Russell Ford.

This vehicle has had numerous problems similar to those mentioned throuhout these consumer reveiws (transmission, rear-end noise, back glass, etc...) Obviously these are common problems; however, Ford or any of their dealerships will admit to any of them, or try to fix them correctly. A few recalls would solve a lot of problems! By the way...if you live in Knoxville, TN....stay away from Lance Cunningham Ford, and Ted Russell Ford! Their service dept's. are the pits!!!

So far so good
We were looking at another minivan when I suggested to my wife an SUV. She liked the idea of a 3rd fold-down seat for storage and 4WD. We looked at the expedition but it was too big and settled on the Explorer. This car is fun to drive. ALthough less room than a minivan, it handles great and the kids love to ride in it. I looked at other SUV's and they just weren't safe enough. Explorer is alot of car for the money. Wife loves to drive it now too.
Do not buy this car!@!@!
We bought our Ford 2 years ago and we had to replace the front bushings,the cluster(odometer) and the back seat window because it went bad. My car is back in the shop because the transmission is slipping. Of course there is nothing to do about the transmission they say and that I need to spend 160.00 to change the filter and fluid. It isn't due for that. So I guess I will wait until it totally breaks down. I would never buy this car. I am going back to my Tahoe when the 100,000 mile warranty runs out. I have to keep it until then.

Several issues from the start, power seats broke, stereo didn't work, moon roof track broke, auto seat adjustment broke and this was all with the first 5,000 miles. Power steering replaced at 20,000. Purchased extended warranty to 75,000. Started taking to dealer at 56,000 for sound of gear grinding. Dealer unable to locate problem for 5 visits. At 75,500 dealer locates problem and refused to cover, new differential, $1,000. Ford states it is up to dealer as to coverage. Automatic transmission needed replaced at 76,000. Probably 80% of driving is highway. Not a dependable vehicle.
