Very powerful V8 engine. Excellent high quality interior, excellent handling. Wanted a real SUV, but a smooth ride so purchased Ford Explorer instead of Toyota Highlander. Thought Toyota Sequoia is too over-priced! Still love Toyota, but Ford Explorer gives Toyota SUVs a run for their money.....

193,000 miles so I am not complaining! Second Explorer and the first got this same type of miles - just change your oil regularly. Some problems with the rear hatch - glass struts were recalled. Hatch cracked and was replaced at my cost although every other explorer I've seen out there has this same kind of cracking. Very comfortable car and got decent mileage - 16-18 on average.

A good choice for those who live in snow prone winter areas. Great tow vehicle. Engine is smooth and reliable. Ride is fairly smooth. This vehicle has always started on first try in even sub zero weather.

It's a Ford, not a Lincoln

So far no problems. My only concern is the so called maintenance free automatic 5-speed transmission. No dip stick to check fluid level. Love the Michelin tires. Drives smooth. It feels secure when driving on the highway. The V-6 feels like a V-8. The only other minor thing I should mention is the rear trim around the rear window. It seems to be separating. The vehicle is only 8 months old.

Really regret buying this car. It was my first purchase and I was extremely excited about it and didn't think to ask many important questions. To be a V6 it got really bad gas mileage and maintance is insane. Have had it in the shop for serious repairs like two days after the warranty expired. It does look nice in my opinion but that's all this car has. Keep your money and buy something else
