Amazing rental car; great for fleets
Me and my 7 best friends rented a 2014 Ford Escape SEL 4Dr 1.6L 4cyl Turbo 6A in Denver, Colorado. Upon driving out of the rental agency, we were surprised at how much we loved the car. The interior was super super comfortable with plenty of storage and it was perfect for road trips. The electronics were great and the GPS was super helpful. The trunk fit all of our ski equipment which was a lot. Perfect car, I would totally want to own one

research usability before buying and 2013 model comments..wish we did
We bought a 2014 Escape and noticed the following:
- no driver storage for wallet, change or anything ...only 2 cup holders when not being used;
- glove box is out of reach even for a tall driver and offers no storage capacity;
-transmission blocks dash controls;
- MPG :/
- Center console is useless as a 1.5 foot narrow fishing hole that houses the USB connection half way down;
door panel cup holder is non-functional as it's too narrow to fit our drinks;
some interior plastic is not wearing well;
firm narrow seats

Patience, "flamers"...
I know folks who can't accept fact that not everything works 100% 24/7/365! Bought my '14 Escape SE 7 months ago. One problem (below) ONLY issue! My Escape is a solid "works right first-time every time vehicle. 2.0 turbo made it thru last Chicago's MEGA-BRUTAL winter with ZERO issues... no slow-crank, stuck windows/doors, great heat after 4 mi. city driving, MPG dropped less than 6% etc. A few 95+ F days this year were totally bearable due to A++ A/C system. ISSUE: high beam bulb "exploded" one -22F morn, leaving small dark spot on inner surface. Ford replaced entire assy w/o hassle! No squeaks, rattles, noises. SYNC system needs improvement, but iPhone 5 sync works each day,
Fun to Drive 2014 Escape Titanium 2.0T 4WD
I like driving it, I was leasing a Mercedes E350 when I bought the Escape, and I really don't regret buying it, I feel just as comfortable as I was in the E Class, The Touch screen is more complicated than it should be, but it works. Everybody that see the car praises it for the looks, the drive, handling, built quality, etc. I think for the $33K 4WD and 401A package its a good value, it's quiet which I like and the stereo is great comparable to the E Class. I really cant wait to drive it every day, its fun, and spacious, I'm not a tall person! Even the kids like it better than the E Class, I owned before the ML and R Class but love this one the best
Learned my lesson
My 1992 Honda Civic was in shop having scheduled maintenance done, timing belt+water pump replaced at 360k miles. I received call my sister had an accident in Memphis, TN. So my neighbor graciously loaned me her silver 2014 Ford Escape SE with 32k miles. It drove good, was fairly comfortable, and had good radio. However, in my 200 mile trip, car stopped working for no reason. I called friend and was told by Ford to have it towed to authorized service center. Luckily I was close enough for brother-in-law to pick me up. Found out later it was an electrical problem. Three days later I picked it up and returned it to neighbor. Within week she had same electrical problem occur again.
