Every Car Eligible for the EV Tax Credit in 2025

Hyundai, Kia and Tesla headline the list of electric vehicles newly eligible for the federal EV tax credit. Read on to see what vehicles have been newly added to the list for 2025 and which vehicles are no longer eligible for a tax credit. 

Electric vehicles newly eligible for a federal tax credit

You can get more information on vehicle eligibility by visiting the EPA's fuel economy website. All of these vehicles are now eligible for the full $7,500 tax credit, though keep in mind that only certain trims (those costing less than $80,000) of certain vehicles will be eligible.

Here are the eligible vehicles in 2024 and continue to be eligible in 2025. Keep in mind that in 2025, there are no vehicles eligible for the partial tax credit ($3,750) that previously most frequently applied to plug-in hybrids. We'll dig into the vehicles no longer eligible for the tax credit a little later.

Vehicles no longer eligible for the EV tax credit in 2025

Most of these electric vehicles fall into two categories: They're no longer on sale or they've fallen afoul of the battery sourcing requirements that came into effect for 2025.
