S Model Problems

I've had my S since 2002, always had basic maintenance done. It has 95000 anad is due for Timing belt change to the tune of $2500. Valve covers leaking into cylinders, misfiring and not burning all gas which might be hurting the cat converter. Might need ignition coils, clogged ECG valve. This car was fine until now and now its going to cost over $3500 or more to get these things fixed. Very expensive car to maintain with higher mileage. Think twice about buying a used S model unless you have deep pockets.

I bought this car used - 2 years old with 26,000 miles. I've now had it for 6 years and have had only tires and brakes needing replacement. It's been a great car and I love driving it. Just wish it was a bit better on mileage, but can't complain, 'cause it really gets up and goes!

Just purchased this car for college aged daughter. Purchased from a private party in a state that does not require emission inspections (Ohio). Car drove like a dream; ext. and int. were in great shape for a 10 yr. old car. It had a reasonable amount of mileage (121,000). The owner mentioned the check engine light was on but their mechanic could'nt diagnose the problem. Needless to say, after purchasing the car, taking it to Pa for inspection...it failed miserably! $2300.00 later! change the catalytic converters; fix broken seal on transmission; change a light bulb (requires front bumper to be removed!). Pretty car....but way too expensive to maintain! Buy only if you have $$$ to fix.

Never buy the car before you research the maintenance package that it's about to have for instance I bought it with 45000 miles at 60,000 miles it cost me almost $3,000 apparently the supercharged versions have two timing belts 2 water pumps and two types of serpentine belts but all in all I actually love this car so much it's ridiculous the handling it like a Beemer it writes comfortable like a Lexus the Bose sound system is to die for all in all it really is a great car except for the price of maintenance

To Die For

I leased this car brand new and after the lease I had to buy it. It's a great car, (good going Mazda). It has 47,xxx miles and all I've had to do is change the oil and buy new brakes. Of course I buy a lot of extras just to assure its performance. Usually Mazda has bad transmissions but the Millenia S proved me wrong. It's a smart choice for a used car. When this one dies I'm going to look for another one with low miles.
