One thought about the mileage - the RL is a HEAVY car - 4400 lbs. Constant acceleration of something that heavy is a problem in the city. Once on the highway with the car in OD? 29-30 is quite reasonable to expect. My 2008 Accord EXL V6 ran at higher RPMs cruising than the Acura does. Why Honda loves high RPMs I will never understand. • Acura RL seats are too hard (2010 model).

Written by: bellhead on Aug 2, 2009 9:04:03 AM

I sat in an 2010 Acura RL and found the seats too hard, especially in the thigh support area. The TL seats are better, softer but still supportive. I hope Acura puts somewhat cushier seats in the upcoming 2011 generation. I found the seats in the previous generation (2004 and earlier) better, not nearly as firm. Seat comfort is critical for me in a car, ahead of all other factors.

JJACURA and I have been good friends since the early Forum days in 2004. The excitment that attended the yet unknown 2005 RL was at fever pitch. We Acura buffs waited nine years for a model change, and our excitement could barely be contained. I hope that we can resurrect that enthusiasm while waiting for what has been described to be a real 'flagship' RL. George

I find it incomprehensible that Acura took nine years to produce the '05 RL, a sweet car, but undistinguished and of 'vanilla' design, as borne out by the sales numbers.
