Great SUV, needs better tow hitch

I have the V-6 with tow package and factory 3500 lb hitch installed. A standard length tow bar will not work because of the rear mounted tire and even if the tire was not there, the hitch is recessed quite a bit from the end of the bumper.

I love this car. My uncle gave it to me after he no longer needed it. I drive it to school and basketball games and everything. I love the commanding view and it is relatively easy to park. It's a stylish and fun SUV and my friends always complement the interior (dashboard). I This car is very very dependable and I will use it in college and probably forever!

Still Love This Vehicle

This is a review of a 2007 Limited Rav 4, which was the top-of-the-line model when it was released. It's still a terrific SUV, although by today's standards its missing some features, such as a back-up camera, lane warning, video screen, push start and USB ports. However, it does have bluetooth for a cell phone, heated seats, a very spacious cargo area with storage under the cargo, a reversible, removable carpet/rubber mat for the cargo hold (which keeps the back clean), automatic headlights, and the tire mounted on the rear, which I've always thought looked cool. The tire has a premium cover that matches the silver of the car. The rear door swings open, rather than up. The rear seats fold down with extreme ease - just pull a lever. The car has a premium sound system with a CD player, which isn't available anymore. I'd say that the gas mileage is average, brought down a bit by the all-wheel drive. Pickup is also average, although the vehicle has always been fun to drive. It has good clearage for snow, anti-lock brakes, and all-wheel drive that kicks in automatically. I'm a short woman, and the foot controls are easy to reach; its very comfortable to drive. Visibility is good. I was commuting a long distance when I bought the Rav4, although now I probably drive under 10,000 miles a year. This car has been reliable and hasn't needed major repairs. The leather seats are comfortable, although I'm noticing a little cracking on the sides of the front seats. The driver's side visor is drooping - the bracketing is getting worn out. I like the dash controls, which are unfussy knobs and buttons. All told, its been a fun, practical, and reliable vehicle.

Beats the others

We drove the CX-7 - Sluggish turbo engine, the Santafe - no towing package and very heavy, the CRX - overall yuck. The RAV4 beats them all hands down, gets good mileage, doesn't have a turbo to break, runs on regular gas, has a decent towing cap for the size, and just runs great. This is the best deal.

2007 Toyota RAV4 I-4 4WD

Just bought a RAV4 for the wife. The drive is smooth and very car-like. Steering is responsive and acceleration is surprisingly quick...going 80mph felt like 60mph. Seats are comfortable for an SUV, and the suspension can actually handle rough roads. 4WD is always on, w/ 4-Lo available on demand. Safety features include 8 airbags. As a lifelong GM/Ford guy, I am impressed with the quality and fit & finish of the RAV4. All the standard features make this vehicle one to consider when looking for a small-SUV. Overall, I think Toyota did their homework and pulled out the stops with the redesigned RAV4. But don't take my word for it, take a RAV4 out for a test drive for see for yourself.
