Our 2nd Prius!

We just got our second Prius, an '08. The first one is an '05. We liked the '05 well enough to get a second one. It's a nice car, good space inside, flexible with the different configuration options of the seats, big enough to carry 3 other adults to lunch, plenty of pick up, nice interior, quiet ride. Overall, I'm very pleased (although I've only had it for one day!).

Bought a used touring model

Averaging 45mpg. Performance is great for an engine this size and efficient. Paid $16,500 with nav, jbl, touring edition an 36500 miles. The incline of the front of the car causes a lot of bug paint damage to the hood and above windshield. A lot of sunlight inside the car due to the angles of the glass and there is no tint strip at the top of the windshield. Very pleased with gas mileage since my 06 m35 only averaged 19mpg. The car handles better than my $45k infiniti and handles rough roads much better. Seats are more comfortable too. At least the plastic interior looks good for plastic. I love the car and look forward to driving it and with each mile i drive i'm saving for my son's college

Still going at 115,000 miles

I got the extended warranty which was useful as both front bearings needed replacement at 62K. I thought the navigation system would be helpful but it was out of date almost immediately and the cost to update was $75. It was never as good as the gamin or other popular programs at the time. Seems to me this would be something the dealer could offer as a perk. Soon after I got it cell phone navigation became a thing. Never use it. The voice recognition system was useless too. The driver's seat is not as comfortable as it should be and I wish it would go back just one more inch to accommodate my legs. Back seats are roomy enough for road trips. Easily fits 4 adults and luggage. I follow the usual maintenance schedule and have otherwise had no problems with this car. No problems with rust even where I've scraped it up. It holds an amazing amount of stuff as the rear seats fold down flat. It will fit a twin size mattress in the back. I plan on keeping this thing for a full 10 years then passing it down to my son when he's old enough to drive. Purchased a set of snow tires and rims. It runs great in the snow.

I am Absolutely In Love with my car!!! I bought it a year and a half ago on a fixed income. It had a little over 200000 miles and ran just like brand new! It was well maintained and all records were given to me. There was 1 accident involving the driver front. No pulling or mechanical issues then. It was used as a trade for a new model. I drive a Lot! Highway travel. Have had No major issues. I contacted a veteran that rebuilds the big battery and he said it was still fine (original)! This has been the best car I have ever had. It now has 250000 miles and going strong. I am going to have a few cells replaced as I have noticed a couple not charging as well. No complaints at all. My son offered to buy me a newer one and I said "No thank you". I don't like the newer ones. The changes weren't for the better in my opinion. I like my speedometer in front of me not the middle and all the storage. I started a saving account in case something major needs replaced. This will be the last car I own as I'm older and absolutely Love her.

Prius is it worth it?

The gas mileage is great. The interior could use a little better quality. I've had a molding come loose and the design of the instruments in some places is great and in others confusing. It feels great but is a bit loud. I think it's worth it but don't expect ,luxury.
