Never thought I'd buy another Forester

2025 Subaru Forester Touring Hybrid 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
4 weeks ago I purchased a 2025 Forester Hybrid Touring model. It's my 3rd Subie; my 1st was a 2005 Forester. I liked everything about it but the backseat leg room and road noise, which was bad. I decided I wouldnt buy another.
My 2nd Subaru was a 2015 Outback; I've truly loved everything about it. I
have never had a repair or day's trouble with it. The only reason I decided to … get a new car is I've only got a couple more working years to retirement, so it made sense financially. I also wanted to take advantage of all the new safety enhancements. Toss in anticipated price increases, it was time.
I went in to the dealership to buy another Outback, and ended up with the Hybrid Forester. The 2025 Outback pretty much drove exactly like my 2015. It wasn't a disappointment, but I wasn't crazy about the interior, esp the trim. They then showed me the Forester Hybrid, and I was blown away by the changes and upgrades to my 2005 Forester. I had to take it out for a test drive.
IMHO, it drove far better than the Outback. Easier to get in with my bad knee, better visibility, a more responsive driving experience and it was super quiet, even the gas engine. It even felt roomier.
I went home to research other hybrid small SUVs. They all rated similarly on the things that mattered to me. One of the key differences to other makes was that Subaru's all-wheel drive performance in snow was better. It's one of the main reasons I initially bought Subaru, and the feature I like best next to safety. It was a no-brainer.
I decided to get the Touring package, the additional options and safety upgrades are more than worth the extra money. There are too many to review, but my favorite is the 360 surround view; it really helps with parking. My second favorite option is Navigation; AndroidAuto can display your phone's Google Maps on the Info screen, but you can also set up a closeup of Starlink's route map on the dashboard, which is a display with several view options. Its map is easy to read, and I don't have to take my eyes off the road to watch for Street signs (my car's DriverFocus would scold me otherwise!)
Having owned 2 other Subarus, switching to the large Information Center was fairly easy; I recommend utilizing the Dealership's classes. I've set up MySubaru, and the remote start and lock doors is easy
to use.
All in all, my best car ever!
