2025 Toyota Land Cruiser Consumer Reviews

Superior
Traded in our 2012 Explorer for a First Edition. Loved the Explorer but the build quality of the Landcruiser is evident immediatley. This is a heavy truck purpose built to get you to some cool places. Obviously not a Jeep or a Wrangler, but it can do most of what those two can with better fuel economy and a much better ride. This sucker will be on the road 25 years from now with proper care. Looking forward to getting on some rugged terrain for backcountry skiing and hiking. Fuel economy is excellent for the size of the vehicle. We are going to keep the stock tires as most of our driving will be on pavement but this vehicle is built like a tank.

Feel the quality
This vehicle is amazing on AND off road. Super comfortable ride- has everything you need! The stock roof rack adds extra storage space and has no problem with heavy cargo. Very happy with this vehicle

Better then what I have read or seen on Youtube
I waited 9 months to get my Landcruiser. I ordered the Base model with premium package and 20" wheels. coming from an Acura MDX I am extremely pleased with the view from the road. I sit high enough to see the road with excellent visibility on all the windows. I read about the LC not being fast but it has plenty of punch and have not had any issues passing anyone on the road or getting onto ramps. I have driven my LC for 13,000 miles and not have had any issues at all. The seats are extremely comfortable for long trips and the interior buttons are all easy to access. the heads up display is great for me as well. I cannot speak enough my decision. Anyone on the fence should take one for a test drive. You will not be disappointed.

It’s the Little Things and Lack of Parts
The Good. I love the styling and ride of my 1958. I’ve owned several 4WD vehicles and this is one of the most capable and pleasant to drive. The styling is also top notch and having looked at the Defender and GX550, the LC took the honors. Gas mileage is also markedly improved over the 5th Gen 4Runner, and I regularly get 23-24 on the highway and around 21 combined. For a vehicle this large, that’s impressive. The Bad. Toyota generally did a very good job with this vehicle. It’s a nice bridge between the 4Runner and top end LC. That said, there are a lot of small misses that could have been avoided ranging from poor trunk design, to present but difficult to find options, to one of the worst infotainment systems in a post 2010 vehicle. The ugly. Ultimately, the good would outweigh the bad on this vehicle with one major fatal exception: lack of parts support. I have had two significant issues that have required repair - one a warranty item and the second a broken windshield. On the warranty item it took two months for the part to come from Japan (pre-tariffs) so my car was out of service for two of the nine months I’ve owned it. The windshield, which cracked after getting hit by a rock on the highway is on back order indefinitely and the dealership doesn’t have a backup option. So I drive since there’s no plan B. I’ve been told by the dealership and Toyota corporate that it may take six to 12 months to get the windshield. So … if you plan to use a LC as a daily driver, I would not recommend it given the lack of available parts, and especially the windshield (after-market windshields are in very short supply) unless this is a secondary vehicle for you. Toyota sold 15k LCs in the U.S. in Q125 so it’s surprising that they would put a vehicle at this volume into the market without a plan for replacement parts, but given Toyota corporate’s response, they don’t seem to care. Once these issues are ironed out, it’s a very nice riding and handling car and it has many positives.
