Used 2021 Toyota Highlander SUV Consumer Reviews
Side view mirror plastic cover for wire harness
The plastic cover came off somewhere. To replace the entire mirror needs to be replaced for $500 on a 10 dollar part. At dealer we were able to pop off on a car in showroom with barely touching it. Poor design and expensive to fix. Waiting for the other side to also come off as it also is not secured well. Toyota has agreed to replace under warranty. However this plastic piece should be available for a standalone purchase/ replacement
Storage- Gas mileage+
Third row has very MINIMAL leg room. My 2 teenagers have to sit sideways when they do ride back there. They would actually prefer to sit scrunched next to each other with a car seat in the forst row than sit in the third row. With the third row up, storage space is poor. Gas mileage on this vehicle is phenomenal. Overall ride is super smooth. Cornering is phenomenal.

It’s been a 2 years since I bought my Highlander
So far I’ve enjoyed the ride of the Toyota Highlander. Coming from a 2014 Subaru Outback I wasn’t prepared for all the electronics in the Highlander, but am beginning to feel comfortable with them. The ride is really 👍! Update: the Highlander is going great 👍! No problem’s! Probably the “only” issue is the hood is a little too high. It blocks some of your view. I know this really isn’t a big issue, but little people may find this annoying. So, now that I have had my Highlander for over 2 years, I would highly recommend this vehicle for anyone. I haven’t had any problems other then a computer glitch recall that I didn’t even notice. Wish I had gotten the hybrid, but at the time the cost, additional $10,000 dollars, didn’t justify the cost.

Not what they used to be
This beautiful 2021 Highlander Platinum is a stunning car but take it down the road and all you hear is the road noise and wind. It is not as well built as the price reflects. But I do still love the car just disappointed in the build

2021 highlander. Got disappointed
I trust Toyota before purchase and now it’s a big disappointment. What kind of nonsense they are doing with transmission? Very jerky and the gear is slipping. Sometimes can hear the gear slamming inside and when driving to low speed and accelerating feels like it’s hunting for gear. I searched internet and came to know it’s a known issue from 2017 till now and 8sp transmission got issues. Anyone planning to buy this vehicle please do a research in website. My question for Toyota. Why are you doing this to your customers. Really bad. If things going like this I will go for lawsuit.
