Used 2001 Toyota ECHO Coupe Consumer Reviews
Please don't.
This car has been a nighmare. I have made good friends since i bought this car; the mechanics at toyota, i am there often. I can't belevie how unreliable this car is. The build quality is lower than that in my sister's kia.
Great Car
You won't regret buying this car. It is very powerful when carrying only 1 or 2 passengers. However, too much weight and it starts to get substantially bogged down. The interrior is very nice and I've grown to like the center console very much. I find the seats to be very comfortable. The wind does blow the car around - especially at high speeds. This car is very light weight and is very fun to drive.
Great Car for the Bucks
I have had this Car since October 2001. It is fun to drive, and gets great mileage for less then $12.00 for a full tank of gas. It has a smooth engine, it does not seem to have the jumpy engine when you press the gas, thanks to the VVT-i engine. It feels very durable when you drive. It does not feel like it is going to fall apart on me at all. The A/C is very good, it can get very cold very fast. The interior is very spacious with enough head space above.
Echo maintains Toyota's good reputation
I thought that the Echo looked interesting, and wasn't as "everyman" as a Corolla or a Camry was at the time. All in all, this is a great car for folks that want Toyota quality, sharp, original looks, economical upkeep and FUN driving for a relatively low cost. My Echo, which had everything on it that I could get, cost $12,500. Not bad. I'm so sold that I've even encouraged a friend to buy one, and they love it too. Spread the word!
Overall Pleased
This was my first car. What attracted me to it was that no one really liked the echos look, and I wanted to be different. I LOVE my little Echo. Wish I would have gotten the 4 door model, but I was trying to save money. Love the acceleration. Love all the extra storage space.
