Used 2003 Toyota Corolla Consumer Reviews
not bad
Well, just destroyed my faithful '93 camry w/247k miles, and seeing as repairs are too much, the corolla has come into the pic. we were given a 2003 ce for rental, the wife loves it, i have to admit that i am actually giving it some thought, doubtless staying w/toyota. during the week that we have had it, we have definitely gotten comments for the looks, my sis (in her '97 camry) saw it and liked it more then hers. bigger/less boring than it's predecessors (much bigger than '80 corolla i had, though sr-5 model looked good in it's day). i might actually get this car over a new camry (i didn't really just say that)...
Firestone Tire Recall is Toyota's Fault
I was angered to learn today that Toyota installed defective Firestone tires on my new 2003 Corolla LE. I have already filed a complaint with the NHTSA because I must buy replacement tires at my own expense since Toyota insists that I must accept only Firestone replacement tires. This is a load of horse manure. The line supervisors and managers in the Wilson, North Carolina, Firestone manufacturing plant responsible for the Ford/Toyota tire fiascos should be put in jail and never allowed to manufacture tires again. Didn't Toyota learn anything from the Firestone/Ford fiasco? Life is cheap.
great 3rd toyota
The best car I've ever owned. How do they get 130hp from 1.8L? I had to take the premium sound, cruise and Winter Pkg. 100 watt stereo sounds great! Let NHSTA know about the visor hitting the rear view mirror, though. I did.
Great value for the money!
Bought my '03 Corolla used with 87,000 miles on it. I am a Home Health nurse and needed an inexpensive, reliable car with good gas mileage and a roomy trunk. This Corolla has met all my needs and then some. I have fallen in love with this car. I spend hours a day in it, minimum 500-600 miles a week in all kinds of conditions and weather and this car has not let me down yet. I now have 123,000 miles on it and plan to drive it another 120,000 +. No mechanical issues. I have only performed maintenance: replaced filters, tires, brakes, spark plugs, as well as oil changes every 3000 miles and transmission service. One small problem, have blown a fuse twice from using plug in to charge laptop computer.
Miss my great Corolla
I loved this car, meant to keep it many more years, until a drunk driver totaled it and left me without it. It was great on fuel economy, mostly highway driving, a great 35 to 37 mpg. It was comfortable and easy to handle, excellent braking. Reliability was excellent, nothing wrong in the 5 yrs I owned it. Now trying to find another comparable is turning into a nightmare, as prices have been hiked up for these great cars, and no 2003 or 04 models out there with low mileage.
