What is the Giulia?
The 2024 Alfa Romeo Giulia is a small and stylish luxury sedan that injects some Italian flair into a segment dominated by cars from Germany. The Giulia was introduced in 2017, though it's undergone a handful of updates since then, with things like updated driver aids and a revised infotainment system. Alfa Romeo has revealed an updated 2024 Giulia overseas, and while nothing official has been announced, these updates could make their way to U.S.-bound Giulias for the 2024 model year.
In other markets, the 2024 Giulia receives some small but notable changes. The headlights have been redesigned, with LED lights that resemble those on the new Alfa Romeo Tonale crossover SUV. It's more than just style, as the headlights are adaptive and can adjust the beam on the fly to avoid shining into oncoming traffic. (Adaptive headlights were recently cleared by regulators for use on U.S. roads.) Inside, the Giulia gets a new digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch digital display. We've found the Giulia's tech to be a bit middling in the past, so we hope the update can add some polish to the in-car tech.
Fundamentally, the Giulia should remain the same stylish, sporty sedan it's been since it debuted. The Giulia has never been the most luxurious or comfortable car in its class, but a strong lineup of turbocharged engines — especially the most potent one used in the high-performance Quadrifoglio trim — and sharp handling make it engaging and fun to drive. But the competition is stiff, especially with all-new or newly updated rivals like the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW 3 Series.
