Corolla S 1.8L 5-spd.

I've had this car for 4 months, and have no major complaints. Its got a very smooth ride, but could use some more oomph when accelerating from 20 mph on a highway entrance ramp to go to 60 mph. I've consistantly been getting 40-44 mph. I do miss my '91 Mazda 626 2.2L 5-speed, especially its acceleration. I do realize I'm dropping down a bit in engine size. All-in all I'm very satisied with my new Toyota!

Toyota really knows how to make cars. I´ve owned ford, chevrolet, dodge, mitsubishi and chrysler, and nothing better than a toyota. Te design is nice because is sporty and has a lot of elegance. I´m really happy with this car and i recomend it for anyone who is looking for build quality, reliability and confidence.

Disappointing Mileage with Poor Tires

2003 Toyota Corolla CE 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 4A)

To the reputation of Corolla, 03 CE is close to a disgrace. Quite a few owners report low gas mileage. My car can only run 23 mpg given 60/40 city/hwy, way less than Toyota advertises. And I have kept it below 2500 rpm most of the time, rarely above 3000. Another disappointment is its poor tire grip of Goodyear. It feels like a panic stop, even although you are stepping on the brake for a while before the red light. One improvement is the roomier interior compared to the old model, while some knobs are hard to reach from the driver's seat.

Compared to sentra and civic,The Corolla wins hands down.Bigger more powerful engine,Roomier,Larger stance and tires.Timing chain opposed to civics belt is why I purchased it.A freind has a sentra he popped his hood We compared engines My corolla engine was simple to look at.His sentra was a mess of hoses and wires. We couldnt even find the oil filter!

Corolla will last forever

I bought my Corolla 5 years ago and in that time I put 225000 km on it. I have not once had a problem with it. With the 5-speed it is fun to drive and super reliable! Unfortunately I got in an accident with it and it was written-off. Now it's so hard to find a second-hand Corolla with low KMs.
