Used 2022 Toyota Corolla Hybrid Sedan Consumer Reviews
2022 Corolla Hybrid with Excellent MPG
I bought this 2022 Corolla Hybrid new with the goal to save gas and last for 15 plus years of commute driving. The EPA mileage of 52 combined was easily exceeded in the first 2 days of driving it. I'm now getting 70+ mpg on my commute which is a mix of city/freeway/hills/bumper to bumper, etc. This car excels in everything I want for commuter car. The drive is supremely smooth at take-off and is still smooth and quiet at speed and handling is quick and light for the intended purpose of the car. If you drive this car like it was designed for, you can easily get 60+mpg. I'm very happy with the car, especially with gas in the $5-7/gallon range. 75mpg gets me about 700 miles a tank just after the "low fuel light" comes on. The hybrid system will disappoint you if you are looking for a "speed demon", in that case there are plenty of sporty cars to choose from. But I don't know of any car but a EV or hybrid that will get that kind of mpg no matter how you drive it. This car is very sensitive to driving style, but with record high gas prices I can drive in the slow lane at the 65mph speed limit. Update: I now have 12600 miles on the car and all the above still applies. Mild California winter weather drops the mpg to about 67. But now the mpg is back to about 72 as the weather is warmer. I have found that freeway at 55mph and above for long periods will max the mpg to the 60 range. At that speed for long distances that engine runs about 75-80% of the time leaving little time for “EV” battery only mode. But as i have said above i have never had any car that got even close to 60+mpg no matter how I drive. There is one small issue with the displayed MPG on the console. It seems to always to run about 3-5 MPG above the actual measured MPG during fill up. I wish there was a way to “calibrate” this to dial in more closely. In all, I’m very happy with the car.

Excellent Car
Toyota is the go to brand when it comes to hybrids and PHEVs. They know their stuff. Their hybrid systems are so seamless, efficient and reliable. Safety Sense 2.0 is a good system. Even being a car guy, I decided to get the Corolla Hybrid because I can trust it will be a reliable car for years. PROS: - Good full LED Highlights with distinct accent lighting - Responsive Infotainment that runs CarPlay with no issues at all (no crashing etc, which even happens with other systems from other brands). - Crisp and attractive gauge cluster display with nice safety feature customization, and hybrid system feedback when you turn off the car (cool! :) ) - Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, and BSM and RCTA - Reliable Smart Key System - Decent Interior Build Quality -Good Interior space CONS: -Door panels have hard plastics, but are built well; some NVH too -Infotainment is not as high res as other systems but still works well

Offers a lot at an extremely reasonable price
I just bought a 2022 Corolla Hybrid. It replaced a 2011 Corolla LE which replaced a 2001 Corolla LE which replaced a 1996 Geo Prizm (built on the Corolla chassis). Each has been incrementally better than the earlier model but the Hybrid is a substantial improvement from the 2011 model. To begin with, the gas mileage is amazing - nearly 700 miles on a tank of gas, with city mileage double what I got with previous cars and highway mileage about 15 mpg better. The car is bigger than the previous versions - more along the lines of a Camry from a few years ago, with comparable increase in the interior space. The trunk is noticeably larger. The seats seem bigger and are definitely more comfortable, and the back seat has much more legroom (as confirmed by my grandson). The technology - particularly the safety features - is considerably better than what the 2011 Corolla offered. The audio system is quite good. I find that the car's acceleration is better than that of my 2011 Corolla. This is certainly not a dragster, but it seems to have plenty of pep as far as I am concerned. I admit that I am an old codger and my "car" days are behind me. (I gave up my dream of owning a Porsche a long time ago.) However, this Corolla Hybrid is one of the nicest vehicles I have ever owned. And what I find most surprising is that the sticker price of this car was just about the same as that of my 2011 Corolla, even though it is actually much more well-appointed and, as noted, will be much more economical to drive.

The Best
The car is great traded my 2021 Corolla Hybrid for it .My previous car was getting 64.3 MPG AVG for over 26,000 miles. Toyota needs to make alot of commercials about the Hybrids they build. Better than all electric cars by far.
What's not to like?
40-50 MPG (weather dependent), handles nicely, no major gripes! UPDATE: 50 MPG+, decent acceleration, good handling - can't think of any complaints!
