Best car Toyota made ever
Bought Camry 2002 in 2009 with 229.000 km on odometer. Now it has 357.000!! One ignition coil was replaced and starter (it costs me $300 together). I cannot believe... Moreover, car still running perfect. Sometimes I thinking about something more fresh... but not sure Toyota follows their good traditions. My car was made in Japan.
225,000 miles strong!
After 225,000 miles, it still runs like new. No noise, leaks, or oil burning. I've only had to replace tires, battery, and timing belt (recommended every 90,000 miles). The seats are still very comfortable. There have been no other repairs. Update - A year later, still going strong. It provides the most comfortable place for me to sit. I wish I could do my work sitting in my Toyota. Still no mechanical problems.

Before this I owned a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Unfortunately I was involved in an accident and had to sell it, I bought this car and I love it so far. I bought it with 99,000 miles on it. Its just about to turn over 104,000 and I love everything about it. It drives like its a brand new car. The only problem with it is there is an exhaust leak somewhere. Its fun to drive and reliable. I plan to drive it through my college career and possibly get a Tundra after that. Great car!!!
old reliable
I bought this car on sale when the 2003 models came out. Repairs have been slighlty more than I expected but I think it is because the dealer has pumped up service sales. With 100,000 miles the car still handles very well and is very quiet. Brakes seem to wear out more quickly than my last Camry and the AC has broken down twice with leaks but otherwise a great car.
Sludged engine
After only 40,000 miles, engine went thru three quarts of oil in 1,200 miles. Took to dealership. sludged engine. needed new engine at $6,000. Although still under warranty, dealership would not honor warranty. called corporate Toyota. Said they were very aware of problem - "well documented." They even have an Oil Sludge Team. Never rec'd call back. Called dealer again and denied the warranty. Before you buy a Toyota go to any search engine on Internet and type in Toyota sludge.
