Poor Over Road Ride

I just purchased a New 2012 4runner Limited. I purchased the Limited over the SR5 because it was supposedly smoother riding. The vehicle pulses through the steering wheel at all speeds. I spoke to Toyota and had it back to the dealership twice. They both told me that it was a truck and that is the way it rides and I should live with it. I owned 12 new trucks before this and none rode this bad, of course none were a Toyota. I personal feel that it is th 20" wheels and tires that they put on this vehicle. They are hard riding and poor handling. I am limited to 2 tire manufacturers with these wheels so i can not even buy touring tires.

BEST TRUCK/SUV YOU CAN BUY

I love this truck. It's got a big perimeter frame and will tow 5'000 lbs, bulletproof, proven 270HP 4.0L V-6, SOLID proven 5-Speed auto transmission. It's built with the old recipe that all trucks follow. I got the Limited, which has a smooth full-time 4WD system (I was weary of that, but it plows through everything) locking diffs, JBL sound system, and one of the best features, ubiquitous on ALL 4-runners, the retractable rear window! Super versatile. Hands down the best engineered, thoughtfully planned out & best manufactured and assembled vehicles I've ever owned. If you see one, want one, get it. They don't last long once they're listed. Plus, ALL 4-runners have been, and are still, fully manufactured and assembled in Japan. Japanese culture tends to hold craftsmanship and masterful work in high regard. Superb quality & construction. Super high re-sale values, also.

So Far It's Great! 2011 SR5 4WD 6 cyl

Have had my 2011 4Runner since 10/29/10. Right out fo the gate, there is a slight engine stutter between 40 mph and 50 mph - haven't taken it in yet as it doesn't impact performance . So far I've taken it off-road; sand/mud/snow, as well as day-to-day pavement. This thing is GREAT ALL-AROUND. I got just over 200K miles out of my Chevy Trailblazer and expect to get at least that out of this 4Runner.

There is no vehicle more reliable than a Toyota 4Runner. Also, it is as tough as they come! It’s only weaknesses are poor gas mileage and turn radius. Two things that have never been addressed. Overall, it’s reliability is unchallenged by any other vehicle on the market. Something that is amazing in a four wheel drive vehicle! Just an incredibly able vehicle!

I really enjoy the 4Runner and it has met all my expectations. I wanted a truck with the SUV body and that is exactly what it is. I was also aware that the vehicle is a bit underpowered and am I fine with that. We also own a 2010 Highlander Limited. The Highlander is more like a car to me now than a crossover SUV. Anyone who complains about not having an assisted tail gate clearly should be buy another vehicle, or needs to go to the gym.
