Real pleased after coming from a new BMW that was in shop about every month. V8 has great pickup and reasonable gas mileage. Average mileage is between 17 and 18 w regular w about 80% stop and go city driving. Long trips get me 20 mpg. BMW was avg 19 mpg on premium. Still no Honda Civic, though and with the small tank (23 gallons) there are a lot of gas stops. Good amount of interior room, great brakes and lots and lots of storage areas.

I have only owned the vehicle for a few weeks, but I can already tell that I made a smart decision in buying this SUV. It is a well made vehicle (no rattles, quiet, excellent interior materials, etc.). I am also suprised at the gas mileage, it is better than I expected at 23-24 mpg on recent trip. I previously owned a Ford Escape, which was also a fine SUV, but the 4Runner is better in every way.

I wanted to write this review for anyone who is or has gone on the search for a new SUV in todays market. With gas being so inflated and a wide choice vehicles I really took my time to find what I thought would best serve my domestic and male ego needs. I test drove and could of afforded any suv out there, but the truth is that for my money and long term investment I decided to go with the 4runner limited fully loaded... and I love it. Perfect for my 3 dogs (terrier, boxer, mastiff). Get in the mountain snow, off road and in the city. decent mpg. avg.17.8.

I bought the Limited 4WD new and have not had any problems. Pacific Blue is a great color, but discontinued in 2006. Seems to drink a lot gas but not much different from a V6 performance car and probably as good as most mid sized SUV's. 6 CD changer is obsolete since the advent of the Ipod. A $500 portable navigation system probably works as well as the $1900 optionally installed navigation.

This is my first SUV ever. I bought a Toyota because I knew of toyota cars quality. The only problem that I can mention is that the driver seat wiggles a little bit if you take a sharp turn. I took it to the dealer and they told me that that was normal and that Toyota knew about it.
