Great SUV for the money
Bought this car used as an import from the States. My wife insisted on a vehicle with leather, 7 seats and AWD. The car has been completely problem free since we bought it over 2 years ago. Oil changes cost a ton but are miles apart because it requires synthetic oil. We have put over 50K (Miles not Kilometres) on the vehicle since we bought it. It does lack sex appeal and the interior feels cheap. But after a bit we have become very comfortable with the car and are very happy I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone.
A lot for the money
I was looking for a midsize SUV for around 30k, and drove almost all the competition. When I saw the XL7 I figured let me take this for a ride, it really was not high on my list. But after looking at all the features you get for the money, it probably is the best value on the market. It has a solid but smooth ride, great pickup and has nice style both in and out. It has one of the best warranties in the market, very little maintenance. It even has a timing chain, instead of a belt, so you don't have that periodic $500+ expense. Although 7 passengers is a stretch, 5 or 6 can fit fine.

Love this Car!
I have driven, for the past ten years Saabs, and before that, Mercedes. When it was time to replace my 9 5 Saab station wagon, I looked around. By chance I rented an XL7 for a weekend to haul some things, I fell in love with the car, smooth, powerful, compfortable, stylish, and well finished. Also, the price was great, with 4600 miles, paid 60% of list. This is a great car, in a little over a month have put on 4,000 miles, and they have been much more enjoyable than in my Saab or Mercedes. Great, great car!
Would definitely buy it all over again!
I upgraded from the Grand Vitara to the XL7 to accommodate our growing family and the extra space in the back is shockingly roomy! I can fit a large baby stroller, suitcases, and dogs all in the back together at once. My husband has even been impressed with the smooth car like ride and roominess. I love the acceleration too! It's power is definitely understated since it moves much better than many other SUVs I've driven.
Not reliable
I thought I had found the perfect car when I purchased my XL-7 three years ago. I couldn't get rid of it fast enough after 30,000 miles. The little things that should happen at 70,000 miles happen at 25,000 miles with this car. The paint peels, the locks break, the levers fall apart, lights and sensors come on. The factory tires are aweful. Not a good value.
