I test-drove my scoobie on a cold, rainy night during rush hour. I pulled out onto the freeway feeder and stomped on the gas. Never before have I experianced anything like it in such unfavorable conditions. Amazing acceleration. A good, balanced handling and steering package, a very rough ride, and a little more understeer than expected. But mash the gas and other drivers are just sitting still - fantastic. It's your chance to own a true musclecar. Those Playstation kids will want to hug you.

I was fortunate enough to get one of the first few in Annapolis. I love the car, it is everything I thought it would be in terms of performance. I wanted a car with a huge 'grin factor' to justify all of the hours spent at work. And this car provides the grin factor in spades. I can't really ask for anything more from the car in terms of performance, styling, and fun. It is a sports car so the creature comforts must be overlooked.

The STi is by far the most performance value for your dollar. At roughly $100/horsepower, you will be challenged to find something else that competes (with the exception of the Mitsubishi EVO). This car is by far the most fun to drive of any turbocharged car I've owned. Running out of corners in 2nd gear with the All Wheel Drive will put a huge grin on your face every single time you do it. There are other performance cars out there such as the Nissan 350Z that are close. But the STi offers a standard cart-your-friends around 4-door (I carry both my kids car seats in mine) that you don't get with most sports cars. Bottom line is this car is a blast to drive, and is affordable.

With 227 horses under your complete contol how can you not love this car? Sweet lines, awesome hood scoop and amazing performanc. The only thing I think should come standard is 17" wheels just like the WRX STi will in 2004. Power is all in the mid to upper RPM range but once you hit 4000RPM you never look back. Acceleration is absoluetely amazing! Smooth ride and superb handling are there as expected with the AWD of all Subaru's you can't get more performance for less money!

I like the way my WRX Wagon handles the corners, Iv only got it to drift on drit roads which was easy to controll. As far as power when I need to pass I hit the turbo at 4000 rpm and Im gone. It took a little while for me to get ajusted to the clutch and power band. The AC works well The kids feel it in the back right away, have"nt need heater yet.

Driving mountain roads is challenging when dry - try three weeks of 1 - 3' of snow! Even in newer snow/slush - no apprehension (and this from someone who has rolled a vehicle at 45 mph on a straight, dry stretch - inexplicable accidents do happen). Needless to say, the "ready to roll" feeling has changed from one of apprehension to one of - let's go and drive. Also, driving 5 hours at a stretch presents no bodily discomfort.

You can't go wrong. Four doors makes it family friendly. I just had a son, and my wife didn't make me get rid of the hotrod. Stock mustangs are no match, you smoke them of the line and they chatch up. The price for the car is a dream, under $24,000 for the 5- speed. I bought mine in 2001 when they first came out, have put over 60,000 miles going to work and school and still have not had a single problem.

One of my friends got one a WRX in 03 and I've loved them ever since. I got an 04' in late 05' and absolutely love it. It was very reasonably priced and performed above what i expected. Slight turbo lag but that comes with about any turbo car, but once it kicks in its gone. Handles incredibly well and looks better than any of its direct competitors such as the SRT-4 or GTI. Very very good car all around, and the AWD is unreal. Went straight up a snow covered hill without so much as a slip.

An amazing vehicle!! I have so much fun driving this car. It’s the best money I could have ever spent. The power and handling of this car is phenomenal. Passing on country roads used to be a nightmare in my truck, now I have to be careful not to go over 120 mph. It gets a little annoying after a while that every Honda civic with big rear wing wants to race me.

Love it! Traded in a 2004 Nissan Spec- V with great relief, took a massive financial hit, and got twice the car (at a lower price). Quality, performance, and a great great value. Engine cranks up nicely, good compromise on ride/handling, decent mileage and big gas tank, quality interior, all good stuff. This would be a good bargain in the sports sedan class without the 4WD, with the 4WD it kills the competition. And the rep is pretty good for durability and safety. Assuming no service problems, and the same line of cars, I'm a Subaru guy for life.

I have owned the since 3 July 03 and have been enjoying the car ever since I got rid of one Subaru to get this one and am glad at the time it was the only one on the lot and I was leary about buying a demo but I had to have it. Although it does not get the best gas mileage it makes up for that in the fun to drive department. It has lots of power and my wife also enjoys driving it. The fact that it does not come with a radio or floor mats. But who wants to listen to a radio when you can listen to the boxer engine singing as you drive it on a twisty road.

My experience with my '03 2.5 TS has been great. I have upgraded my OEM 15's to 2002 stock wrx 16's. The impact, although minor, has been great. lighter/tighter feel. will be upgrading to a cobb exhaust soon.. My issues are, the crappy stock cd player they give you. i've already had to replace my first one under warranty. the second one is better but it still has issues with playing burned cd's. and the sound at interstate speeds is a little loud. kind of light body frame as well, not safe feeling.

Before I bought my Impreza RS I researched compact sendans under $20,000 for a few months. The cars that I was looking at where: Toyota Corolla S & Matrix, Nissan Sentra Type R, Honda Civic, Ford Focus, Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart and the BMW Mini Cooper (base model). Of all these vehicles I chose the Impreza RS because it offers more performace and features for the price than the competition and Subaru's exellent reputation for being reliable. This is a high quality car.

Got my STI on 7/9. All i can say is, this car is fun as hell to drive in. If i could, I would sleep in it. If anyone is thinking about the STI, stop, dont think, just go out and buy it. Its worth the price its selling for. Very minimal turbo lag. I have had nothing but compliments from people who see me in this car, and this is even coming from people who dont like imports.

I love this car for it's all around utility, performance and price. I am a little disaapointed in some of the build quiality but I knew this going into it as many others have complained of thin paint, thin windshields, and build quality just slightly better than a Dodge. My biggest concern is the CEL that has now come on twice and I have only driven the car 125 miles! Loose fuel caps can cause this thing to light up?! Sounds like SOA needs to redesign that. I love the car though even though it is quirky

I have leased a 97 Imprezza for 3 years. I bought a 2000 Imprezza and drove it until I bought the current car. The only thing that has ever gone wrong was a burned out LED on the cruise control switch on the 2000. I lived with that with no problem. These are wonderful small cars getting an easy 32+ mpg on the highway. I will be moving on to a Forester because I am getting old and like the additional safety

With Subaru touting its WRX almost to the exclusion of all other Impreza models, you may feel a little funny at first leaving the dealer lot at LESS than 100 miles an hour, but you cannot go wrong with an Outback Sport! The non-turbo 2.5L engine is VERY peppy, the auto trans a much better match AND the Outback trim very eye-catching. Not to mention you will save about $4,000! I love this car AND the smart decision I made in buying this less popular Impreza!

I think this car will be different. It's very fast, handles well and has great brakes. I did install Blizzak LM-22 tires for winter use. This is a must. I would buy this car again.

This is the most fun I've had driving since my college club racing days of driving Porsche Speedsters. Living in the Rocky mountains I can't think of a better car-snow,sleet,ice,rain and curvy roads. But you have to stay alert to drive this car.Due to the high torque and quick acceleration you have to judge road conditions before you stomp on it.

I find it much more comfortable than my previous car (Ford Mustang). It's faster, safer, and gets better gas mileage. The boy racer wing is a bit much. I love the interior and seats. All the controls are within easy reach. The transmission is solid. The gears are very, very short. The engine is incredibly powerful. This is the greatest car I have ever owned by leaps and bounds.

I traded in my mitsu 3000gt vr-4 for this awesome upgrade. Although same hp, the sti just feels so much more responsive with minimal turbo lag. The interior could be nicer, but its way better than the evo. The suspension is a little easier on you than the evo, making this a better choice if you are using for daily driver. I love the AWD coupled with the DCCD and supersport ABS braking system. The Defi gauges in the beautiful glowing red and cool starting sequence is excellent. Don't think about buying this car...just buy it!

After moving to Colorado recently, I parted with my 2002 Jeep Wrangler to seek a more cost-efficient source of transportation that would also do well in the Rockies. After driving SUV's over the past ten years, I settled on my first "car" in a decade. It was a Subaru Outback Sport Wagon, and I drove it for a year and loved it. It carried my dog , bikes, snowboards, and camping gear all year with aplomb in all manner of weather. A raise in my salary coincided with a WRX test drive, and back I went to the dealership. What I got was the same, solid Subaru Boxer- powered vehicle with 25%+ more power, and incredible handling. Fantastic car!
