Best Bang for the buck performance

If you want a car that performs like a 60,000 dollar car for half the price this is it. Let me tell you this car is a champ with the background of a championship winning car in the World Rally Championship. A lot of the features are derived from the actual rally car. It handles awesome and accelerates awesome. This car will beat most European cars on the road easily. You will laugh at most stock Japanese cars.

I shopped around for something w/awd, with decent gas mileage, and some good power for around 25K.This is it! Fun to drive, great safety, decent room for ski or golf gear. Got the short throw shifter, autodim mirror, arm rest ext. (should be standard), bumper cover, extended warr. All for the price I expected. I'm very happy so far, with exception of the stereo.

Still breaking engine in but already amazed by this car's potential. Hard to depress gas more than half an inch and not go over 4000 rpm. Excellent powerband in all 6 gears. Subtle yet powerful-sounding rumble from exhaust. My WRX sportwagon was an eyeopener, but this car soars to new heights!

So far so good, and with Michigan winter coming, we'll really know for sure. This car replaces our Jeep Wrangler - seems light-years different, I know - but not really! The Outback Sport has WAY MORE luggage and passenger space, is vastly more comfortable on long trips, and uses a LOT LESS fuel. But we never took the Jeep on anything worse than reasonably smooth dirt roads (lots of camping), and the Subaru tromps over those even more comfortably. But I wish it were just a little roomier in the very back. The "styled" hatch really cuts into cargo space.

I decided that I needed to get another car to compliment my modified 944 Turbo, and I really wanted to find something "affordable" with comparable performance. The STi definitely fits the bill. I have logged about 1600 miles on it so far, it it's running great. I didn't care much for all of the external decals and the chrome lettering on the trunk, so I removed everything except the little STi logo on the front grill. I think the body looks great, and I actually think the tail size is just fine. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend the car to anyone.

Simply put. "Amazing!" Your first look is... "Cool someone put a GIGANTIC wing on the back of an impreza." Oh no my friends, this car is MUCH more than that. The moment you put this car in second gear you will find yourself gasping for air. 2 wheels pulling and 2 wheels pushing your car while you travel 0-60 in 4.5 seconds!!! You will find yourself pulling away from Z06's and 350Z's with ease. But this car not only picks up and goes! I knows how to turn with speed as well! Throw your differential all the way back and find yourself drifting in an S curve @ 95+ MPH. This car is for SERIOUS drivers only. Get 911 performance with a 1/4th the price.

I have been waiting for this car my whole life. If you would have told me even 5 years ago that I could buy a car for $30k that did 0-60 in well under 5 sec, had a top speed of 150mph, 300HP, 4WD with an active diff, 6spd tranny and handling on par with the best, I wouldn't have believed you. And it has 4 doors and a trunk? Better than 20 mpg? Ridiculous. This car is not for everyone. It is loud, with an extremely stiff ride. Maintenence is very expensive. It is also a bit scary. It has limits far beyond the abilities of all but professionally trained racing drivers.

I'm 45, with a wife and 2 young kids, and probably don't fit the demographic for this car. Nonetheless, it's my daily driver, and it's outrageous! I've owned 2 porsches, 3 bmws, and many other cars - but I've got to say this one takes the cake for value+performance. At first I was planning to remove the wing, but it's growing on me and I've decided to keep it. I've never met a highway on-ramp I didn't like, and with this car daily driving is a real treat.

I traded my 2001 Outback for this because I wanted something more fun to drive (more speed, better handling) and the WRX delivers this in spades! Unfortunately, the driver's seat is so uncomfortable after an hour or so that it makes me dread taking it on long drives. After constant fiddling with the adjustments, I have yet to get comfortable in this car. On the test drive, the seats felt firm-yet- sporty...now they just feel horrible. Also, the turbo lag can be agonizing when it's hot outside. It takes a while for the turbo to kick in, but once it does, the car takes off.

I was deciding between the Mazda Protege5 and the Subaru Impreza 2.5 TS. After a month of going back and forth between two dealerships, I purchased the Impreza. Here's why: 1- AWD, 2-160hp (flat-four boxer purr), 3- higher stance, 4-more substantial feel to the vehicle, 5-1.8% financing for 60 months, and, 6-$800 below MSRP. Both cars are excellent, but I feel that the places where the MP5 excels are superficial. Things that are missing from the TS (but can be added later ;-) are as follows: no fog lights, no rear spoiler, 15 inch steel tires, poor cup holder design, sub-par radio and speakers, no light in rear cargo area.

Once you are moving 20 miles an hour, this car is an absolute blast. You can FLY. I look forward to my commute every day. Negatively, the other reviews are correct in their assertion that unless you abuse the clutch, the little Honda Civic at the light next to you can keep up with you for far too long. However, this does allow for great everyday driving and getting good miles like the Civic.

We just purchased our first Impreza and went with the WRX Turbo. I have owned Legacy models for years and found that they lacked power, especially in the hilly terrain where we live. We wanted a manual transmission as well. This car fulfills both power and style. It doesn't see a hill and loves curves.

Very fast and high performing car. However, it takes a while to get used to the all wheel drive system. The steering is unusual on a turn, when you gas and let go the gas on the turn, the car (steering) kind of jiggles a little. In addition, if you take a turn and gas it too much, your rear will break loose, so you must understeer like a rear wheel drive car.

Simply Awesome! 3 days and my first ticket. Mileage sucks but hey it is worth the price of entry. Took top of wing off and put on 50 series tires and it has become quite civilized and a sleeper. Potential currently exceeds my ability... but not for long. I am trully happy that I bought this vehicle and I got it for less than MSRP to boot. Truly a 4 door vette!

I've had this car for 5 months and find it to be a blast to drive. Handling is fantastic, and I like the tight feeling to the ride. Has a lot of quickness. The power is good when the rpms are high, but it does lack power at low rpms. One problem in my first 7,000 miles: someone hit the molding surrounding the fog light, and now it is VERY loose and will need to be replaced.

I bought this car for two reasons: for a 60 mile (round trip) commute to work each day and to get me up the hill to go skiing on the weekends. This car has performed admirably in both respects. I was pleasantly surprised by how well my Subaru handled snowy or icy, steep hills. I didn't find a hill all winter that I couldn't get up and it didn't matter where, or how, I parked, I never got stuck. And this was during a winter that the papers said was the area's most snowy since 1916. In addition, the car is comfortable for my commute. This is saying something considering I am 6'1". Observed mpg: 25-26 with ski racks; 28-30 w/o ski racks. Great vehicle for camping, too.

The WRX is the best value 4door sport sedan out on the market. I am 6'4" tall, and there is plenty of head and leg room in this car. Space for seating in the rear is limited but decent. The seats are very comfortable and supportive; after driving for 120 miles straight in this car, i was not tired at all. The ride is smooth, but responsive. The steering is quick and effortless. The performance is amazing! If you stay off the turbo you can get really good gas mileage too. The standard 6disc in dash player is not the best, but it sounds pretty pretty good (for what you pay for its excellent).

Purchased vehicle with automatic transmission for wife to use daily. The Turbo makes this a very fun car to drive, and merging into traffic is no longer a problem with this power. This is a performance sedan, so the ride is a little harsh but not severe. The handling more than makes up for the stiffer ride. Wife is averaging 23 mpg with mostly city driving. Manners on longer trips if very acceptable. Front seats are excellent and are fitted with side airbags. Rear seat has a folddown center section for longer items. Living in Phoenix, good A/C is a must and the Subaru's works great in 110 degree days. Great Car.

Awesome looks and style. Subaru growl Sporty, fast, reliable. A little annoyed with the slight vibration on the highway which is said to be "normal" for "v" rated tires and the sport suspension. The AWD system has since dissapointed me a little after our 1st snowstorm this weekend. The rear wheels spin even under low acceleration, and so the rear fishtails - worse on cornering. Traction was there but not as i have known in the past. The ABS system is awesome in the snow though Other than that i just love it!

With 227 horses under your complete contol how can you not love this car? Sweet lines, awesome hood scoop and amazing performanc. The only thing I think should come standard is 17" wheels just like the WRX STi will in 2004. Power is all in the mid to upper RPM range but once you hit 4000RPM you never look back. Acceleration is absoluetely amazing! Smooth ride and superb handling are there as expected with the AWD of all Subaru's you can't get more performance for less money!

The STi is by far the most performance value for your dollar. At roughly $100/horsepower, you will be challenged to find something else that competes (with the exception of the Mitsubishi EVO). This car is by far the most fun to drive of any turbocharged car I've owned. Running out of corners in 2nd gear with the All Wheel Drive will put a huge grin on your face every single time you do it. There are other performance cars out there such as the Nissan 350Z that are close. But the STi offers a standard cart-your-friends around 4-door (I carry both my kids car seats in mine) that you don't get with most sports cars. Bottom line is this car is a blast to drive, and is affordable.

I purchased the RS earlier this year and i have never been more impressed with a car which is an underdog to its cousins. the engine provides good torque and is quick off the line aswell with the AWD.
