I'm tired of all the new gearshifts out there...Push a button, Pull to the side, and either push up or pull down while holding the brake. Forget about it ! The Forester still has a conventional floor shift that worked for the last 75 years and can operate with your eyes closed. The multi-media screen allows you to operate more things from the main screen instead of having to navigate past it. The Forester drives great and is pretty quiet. The NEW looks is great and phenomenal room inside. Need to get used to no turbo performance

2025 Forester Premium

Bought a few months ago and my wife and I soon took it on a 3000 mile trip with our border collie. Absolutely delightful road trip car. Very comfortable for long drives, excellent fuel economy and, in my opinion, perfectly adequate performance. At no point was I wishing for more power. I was so impressed with the linear power delivery and the tendency of the engine to remain at lower rpm’s and just effortlessly move the car with no fuss or jerking transmission shifts. And outstanding visibility in all directions with large, tall windows. Best of all it is incredibly quiet and it’s easy to have a conversation at highway speeds. I have yet to find something I don’t like about the car and I am incredibly particular. This is my first Subaru, I was convinced I’d buy a Honda since I’ve had such good experiences with previous Hondas that just last forever, but I was very disappointed in the latest CRV. It felt cramped and claustrophobic inside with Hondas characteristic and traditional uncomfortable seats - the worst. The Honda’s engine tended to surge continuously while the Subaru was much better behaved. Just underwhelmed by the Honda, it was boring and cost more - no thank you. And what is up with Honda colors? Silver, gray, black. We opted for the light gray River Rock Pearl in the Forester which we like very much, it’s reflective and light, easy to live with. Time will tell but so far we love it.

My new car and I have become best friends

My other Subaru was 13 years old and I decided that at the age of 76 I was going to get a new car and figure out how to work the things on it, afterall, there were still things on my old car I couldn't work. Besides, I needed a beep to tell me another car was on my side, or that someone was walking behind me or that I was parked between the lines. And most of all, that I could look at the display and it was BIG enough for me to see! It was a dream I had and yes, it all came true. The best part was that it was user friendly and I could figure out how to operate it. Today, we go on trips together and she plays a big part in helping me to get there safely. She flashes things on the dashboard to remind me to be alert or that the car ahead is moving or sometimes she suggests we stop for a cup of coffee. She even keeps the car in the center of the lane when we are cruising. Some people may not like the companionship but I do. This car does everything and more and I love it. It is quiet, smooth and dependable and I love it.

A Great Value

I crossed shopped the Forest against the Rav4, the CRV and other similar models. The Subaru had more value for less money in all trim levels. There are pluses and minuses in all compact SUVs but overall this new generation of Forester was the winner. .

This our second Forester so I didn’t need a lot of information about it. Came close to buying a Crosstrek Limited but picked up this Forester Premium for about the same price. Let’s say I gave up on some features and leather seats for a quieter roomier and slightly more reliable car. In the two weeks of ownership. I find it comfortable and I like all the Easy link driver assist features. 11.6 screen and the menus are easy to learn and use.Drove a Rav4 recently on a vacation and I like the way this car drives more.
