I love this car. This is the fourth Nissan Sentra that I have purchased over the years. Also owned a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am (Junk) and a 2000 Honda CRV which I enjoyed owning. The Sentra is so much fun to drive. It is black and the 1.8s Special Edition with the sports package and the audio package.

I like my 2005 Nissan Sentra but I don't love it and will more than likely be trading it in for something with MUCH more power. The only thing I don't like about my car is how when I go to accelerate there is a brief hesitation and the car jerks before it will take off. Everything is just perfect for a single person is who usually driving solo on most days.

Not Bad for the price

The SE-R has plenty of pep and power on the highway (2.5) Everyone says that the car has a great look and it drives like a sports car. The seating is low to the ground which requires some adjustment since I also drive a 4- Runner. The sports package gives the car a bumpy ride on roads that are less that perfect. The steering is highly responsive and overall, for the money it seems to be a great little car. I have about 700 miles on the car. The quality of the sound system is surprising. For my taste I wish I would have moved up to a Honda Accord or BMW 300 series just to have more car under me. The price, however, was just too tempting.

I drive in excess of 100 miles daily and choose the Nissan Sentra 1.8 S for its styling, performance, and dependability vs. the cost of ownership. I am getting over 36 MPG with the automatic transmission. The car has good acceleration for its engine size and is a very comfortable ride. The Sentra 1.8 S package offers luxury items that are convienient without a huge expense; remote keyless entry, power windows/doors/mirrors - I was impressed with all the little features the car has. Alot of VALUE.

I just bought my 2005 Sentra the day after Memorial Day. So far I love it. I have the 1.8s Special Edition. The stereo is great and the ride is very nice. However, I do have two children and would not recommend it for long trips. The space in the back is very cramped. My only other complaint would be the placement of the cup holders in the front of the car. Other than that I am impressed by everything else.

The option it offers compare to price are great but fuel economy in city driving is really less advertised. SER stearing is very very senstive (responsive) at high speed. While driving if you not pay "full" attention to the road then you can get in serious accident.

I love the way my sentra handles. I drive 45 miles to get to work and I LOVE driving it. I am a college student, and I work part-time, and this car is perfect for me. I get great gas mileage. I think it is quite roomy for a compact, and it is comfortable for me to drive. I think for someone whom is 6 feet tall, it may not work as well as it does for me, but regardless I love my sentra!!!!

I bought my Sentra after owning a feisty '99 Cougar. Let's just say that this is a welcome change. I decided on the Sentra because of the superior gas mileage, and after test driving the Civic and Corolla, I decided this was the best buy for my taste, as well as having the most horsepower out of the three base models. I have had only one problem with mine so far; one of the belts came off because a bolt was not tight enough. However, it was easy to fix. I have the 1.8 S Special Edition, which comes with a Rockford Fosgate soundsystem (and subwoofer). I love it; probably my favorite feature on the car. This car is very reliable and wonderful on the highway.

Purchased new in '05, 1.8s with the Special Edition package (a must!). Rides great, awesome stereo, great on trips, but performance with the A/T leaves a little to be desired. If you need more get up and go, get the 5 spd or drop the coin on one of the SE-Rs. Original tire size is an odd ball but you can step up a width and there are more options. This model Sentra (B15) is know for two issues, the Vapor Canister Purge Valve- easy to change in the driveway but cost $100 and the fuel pump has some valve that stops working and causes hard starting... just turn the key to on for a few seconds- once the pump primes it starts fine.

We bought the car, and I have never been more happy with any purchase, as with this one. I absolutely love my little white Nissan Sentra. It drives like a dream, gets great mileage, and has room for my daughter in her seat in the back. And it has air conditioning. This was our first brand new car, and I don't want anything else, for a very long, long time. I may someday trade it in for a Pathfinder, but for nothing else. Thank you Nissan for helping us to get into this car. We love it.

Three days ago I bought a 1.8S special edition for only 11988 at a local dealer and so far its been a wonderful car. The drive is average to slightly above average for economy standards. With all the features I got such as a six cd changer and 9 speaker sound system with subwoofer it just seems like a too good to be true deal. Even though the sticker price was 16870 local dealers had it for 11988.Features on the car included the floor mats, splash gaurds, microfilter, 16" alloy wheels, spoiler, 300 watt sound system, keyless entry and even a leather wrapped steering wheel. To compare, it would take 6k more to have a civic with the same features(ex model) and 3k more for the Corolla LE.

This is my first import in 20 years. Traded in my Envoy for this car, and so far I love it! Mileage is excellent, but I'm still getting used to the small size. Looked at Hondas, but due to the price and the way I was treated at my local 'friendly' dealership, I wouldn't have a Honda for anything now. I was treated extremely well at the Nissan dealership and plan to make them my first visit for my next car. I love this car!

I drove this car for a route that covered 300+ miles per day. I put over 200k miles on the car in roughly 2 1/4 years, with only the most basic maintenance. I then let the car sit for 8 months. The car still drives like new! The Sentra is indestructible! Even as the fuel economy is solid (I usually averaged 30-32 mpg), the car is not miniature. The acceleration is very good for a 1.8 liter engine, and the tranny is solid. I have a certain sadness as I am trading the car in. I am convinced that it will go another 100k+ miles, but have to move on. I wish the car would meet a happy road ahead, but at 235k miles, I have my doubts. I would not hesitate to recommend Sentra to anyone.

Just bought this car a few days ago and personally it was a tough decision. The price was the clincher. I was torn between the Hyundai Elantra 5Dr, and the Nissan Sentra Special Edition. Both cars had similar features and price. After test driving the Nissan handles better and feels more "solid" you get the door "thunk" in the Nissan that in my mind spells quality. The ride is smooth and quite, the stereo rocks (get the audio fanatic package), and it's peppy. After all was said and done I paid the TMV price. Which with the refund got me way under what the Hyundai was going for. Plus you get a better True cost to owner with the Nissn. In my mind, a better choice.

This car is really fun to drive, but the day after I bought this car i washed it, and both the front bumper, and the rear bumper are already loose. I'm afraid if i try and dry the bumpers they might fall off. The back seat is VERY small. The driver and front passanger have to have their seats all the way forward to make the rear passanger even fit. I don't like the dash because after about a year or two in the arizona heat the entire plastic interior is going to start cracking and falling off. Also if you put your foot into it, the engine seems like it doesn't know what to do.

Although a little slow on the uptake, once the sentra is moving, boy does it move! Some friends and I took mine to Florida right after i got it and i didnt hear one complaint about small back seat or anyone being uncomfortable and my friends are honest with me. This is a wonderful new Sentra and i hope its just the beginning of new things to come! Seems to me like they are raising it up like that altima which is far superior to me than the maxima.

This will probably be my last new car purchase and wanted something fun to drive, preferably a stick, with a good sound system, moon roof and a color that won't get lost in a parking lot with all the other white, black, silver and red cars! Had SpecV a month and love the acceleration, gas mileage and sporty look and feel. Was disappointed to have a single CD player only option available . . . wanted to put a load in the system and cruise. Bottom line: for the money, a lotta car!

I purchased the car after going through hell with a 2k3 Mazda Protege5. Had the protege5 4 months & visited Mazda 9 times within that time period. Anyway I will have owned the SE-R for 3 weeks on Monday (7/4/05) and have put 2250 miles on it already. Nissan has addressed all issues with car since 2k2 and 2k5 SE-R is very refined and a great improvement over early models. QR25DE engine is very responsive, powerful, quiet yet very refined. Skyline seats are firm but comfortable. Exterior looks good with nice wheels and kit. Interior fit and finish is excellent and materials look and feel of high quality but collects way 2 much dust. Handles and rides sporty.

The only complaint I have is that the tail end of the car doesn't really have any shape. So I'm gonna put a spoiler on it. The gas mileage is good and over all I'm very happy with my selection.

i Just got a new 1.8s Special edition sentra and it is amazing. The sound system is much more than anyone expected. It picks up pretty well (i suggest the 5-speed manual). It saves a ton of gas when driven normally. Best of all, it was the best possible deal since the civic and the corolla were more expensive, yet had less power, worse design, and less than half of the options.

I purchased the 1.8S Special Edition package and received an excellent deal. I looked at everything from Scions, Focus, Hondas and Toyotas. One test drive and i was sold, not to mention the deal. This car has been very peppy so far. Not a squeak, rattle or a murmur so far. I'm getting 36mpg, and i average about 65 to 70mph on my commute. The Rockford Fosgate stereo system is incredible. Backseat is a little, but i don't sit there. The dash layout is easy to read, all dials and buttons are where you would think they would be. Trunk is spacious for a small car. Also if you're so inclined this car has been very easy to service yourself.I would recommend this car if you want dependable transport

I bought this car used, and bought it mostly for the gas mileage. I figured if it's smaller and less sporty than I wanted it would make up the difference in the mileage. As of today, I am very happy with the purchase, I love the gas mileage it gets (34-40) each tank gets about 37 mpg average. The features are great and so far the only money I have put into this car is for oil changes, brakes and a sensor (which was a bit pricey) for the fuel injector (car had a hard time starting). I now have over 70,000 on it and plan on taking it on a 1200 mile trip, but from reading other reviews, I am concerned about the head gasket. Well... I'm going to take the trip and hope for the best. Great car!!

My favorite part is the extremely competent handling and torque. The car has excellent power to weight ratio. 6sp. manual has great ratios but has trouble finding 5th gear alot. styling is a bit econocar on steriods, but the driver doesn't mind.

Car handles super, and the power to weight ratio is exciting. Could use power seats, to go with the rest of the power options though, big let down. sound system a big plus. Big fun, small price :)

Outstanding deal for the money. Buy the SE - don't even consider the S model (which is about $2K more expensive) averaging 37-42 MPG highway, and 36 in town, excellent for a 4 door fully loaded (all power options except transmission). The package on the SE has all the options for $500.00 - ordered separately is over $4,000.00 on S version

I just bought this car, and frankly am dissapointed, the pickup - or lack- thereof, is frustrating - talking about even turning corners, never mind trying to speed up when getting onto a highway! And driving this with open windows even at 25 mph i feel like i'm rocking a boat! As for the fuel - it claims it does 28mpg but it doesn't do more that 20! I thought i'd be getting something worth the name Nissan! - (and i used to drive a 2000 Ford Contour!)

bought this car on finance, never had any problem, i drove honda civic 2004 also in comparision Nissan Sentra is better. nissan sentra & toyota corola both are better than civic. very strong body. my wife loves it. steering wheel is a little stiffer than corola. but it's a little road rocket. as i have manual transmission on this car & actually giving me around 32 to 36 miles a gallon on highways which is great. i would never sell my car for a domestic. my friend had ford focus always broke down on him. he went and bought a sentra. american cars tends to start breaking down after 50k mostly because they focus on quantity, japanese cars are more focused on quality. believe me go test drive it.

I plan to drive the car for about 15 years and get roughly 150k miles out of it. So far the car has performed perfectly (it's new and it better!). It's quiet, has adequate power for the freeway, handles OK, it's boring! Perfect.

I used the internet to compare cars along with Comsumer Report. I bought my Sentra after 3 months of research led me to believe it was the car for me. I drive in town and on the highway and it does great in both modes. I am not a speedster so a small 4 cylindar car with high MPG is what I was looking for. The price was great too. So far it has performed as I thought it would. I have driven both Toyotas and Mazdas in the past but they are both getting a bit pricey for what I need a car to do. I would buy it again, no doubt.

I am a previous 89 Maxima SE owner (still running with 210K miles son has it) and thought the down grade would make me miss the Maxima. This was not the case, I now have better performance and fuel economy (avg 29.5) and when I purchased it I added two tone black/orange leather. The NISMO cat back and cold air intake were worthy investments the performance increase with these put me now at 95/99 Maxima numbers (184 Hp@ 4k rpm and 195 ft/lbs @ 4K). The leather upgrade gave it a very upscale look to. Thanks to the guys at Maxwell Town North Nissan for making it all happen at a great price.

I bought mine about 5 - 6 months ago, drives good, I don't get 30 mpg though like the other comments left, I get about 20 mpg and 25 on highway, either way it's a cute compact car, dont like the trunk lights too much but the front is nice looking, could be a little bigger inside, overall no problems.

Decent, but not quite good

I purchased the 1.8S Special Edition package, which had a killer stereo system, (in-dash 6-cd changer, 9 speakers (incl sub in the trunk), and the stock cd player. Unfortunately, this was by far the best quality of the car. Within the first 3 weeks of owning the vehicle, the rear strut was replaced & within the first 6 months, the gas tank (& other parts corresponding to the fuel intake) were completely replaced due to a recall. It has also been in the shop at least 4 times since then due to an unaccountable loss of transmission fluid, which has yet to be resolved. MPG has never gotten over 24 city or 28 hwy. I'd say overall somewhat reliable, but needs work on the mfg end of things.

I'm an Insurance appraiser, covering East Texas, Waco and Houston areas, so I run a lot of miles. For my purposes, my Special Edition Sentra fits the bill very well. I'm 6'1", it could use a tad more leg room. Fuel economy has been in the 31 to 33 mpg range. At 51,450 miles, I'm still on the original rubber. I only hope this little car will see 300,000 miles.

I've had this car for almost a year, and I do not regret buying it. It handles amazingly well, and I keep pushing it further and further with no complaints back. The car is great for the price.

Best buy for the money, compare all prices and you will buy the Nissan because of value and dependability. Nissan makes the best engine, period. After you drive your Sentra 320,000 miles you may find it uncomfortable, THEN BUY A NEW ONE, technology changes. I have driven three (3) Sentras for a total of 420,000 miles without an engine service light coming on, this should tell you something. Both of my daughters now own Nissans. I feel better knowing that they are safer, and in a dependable vehicle.

Nice little commuter car

I bought my Sentra as an economical commuter car for my 116 mile daily round trip to DC. The car has better power than I expected from a 1.8L, has decent road manners, acceptable ride comfort, and when driven properly can get very close to the EPA estimated 34 mpg on the highway. My actual mileage usually comes in around 31-32, but I do tend to have a heavy right foot. My only real complaint, and this is a common trait in every Nissan I've owned/driven, is the interior room, especially in the rear seat area. I'm 6'-3", and could use just a tad more leg room in front, but I wouldn't even consider climbing in the back of this car. At 23k miles reliability has been perfect so far.
