I’ve had this car for over a year. I had to order the car to get silver with a red interior and top with the driver assist package. It’s a very comfortable car. I took a 4K mile road trip as soon as it arrived. On the road it got 32 to 33 mpg. The ride is smooth and the acceleration is good. The driver assist package has some nice features. I got it mainly for adaptive cruise control. Mercedes makes it hard to get and expensive - driver assist requires the navigation package. There have been no mechanical issues in the past year. One complaint is the trunk can only be opened with the key fob or a release inside the car. Another is the ventilated seats are not cooled. They only blow air through the seats that is the same temperature as the air in the car making it a useless feature on a warm day with the top down. Overall I am pleased with this car and plan to drive it many years. I've had the car just over 2 years. There has only been one problem beyond regular maintenance. When putting the top down the cover that closes over the top was not going all the down. The local dealer lubricated the parts associated with lowering the top. That fixed the problem. It has worked perfectly since. Insurance is expensive. Before buying the car I had read that was the case with the C class. It cost more to insure this car than the two cars we had before this one (228i convertible and Golf R). After two years I am still happy with the car and will continue to drive it for many years. Edmunds is asking for an update at 2 years and 9 months. The starter battery had to be replaced. We don't put a lot of miles on the car. Mercedes told us we should drive more. The problem with the cover over the top closing completely came back. This time Mercedes replaced various cables in the top and the top liner. It has worked well since. Both the battery and top repair were under warranty. After almost 3 years I still enjoy driving this car. Edmunds is asking for an update at almost 4 years of owning this car. There have been no problems during the last year. I am still very satisfied with the car.

Best of both worlds

I did some pretty extensive research in this class, including the 330i xdrive and A4. After taking each of them on extensive test drives, I decided on the C300 4MATIC with the AMG line. I was very close to taking a great deal on the 3 Series, but in my heart I knew I liked the Mercedes more. It's much smoother, better built, and has better technology. I felt like the 330i's ride was a little too busy for me. It always begged me to drive fast, which may have been great in my 20s, but now I'm "more mature" haha. The C300 gives me the luxury all the time and the sportiness when I want it. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

This is my second c300 and I love this car. It’s not to big but has plenty of room for adults in the back seat. It has great, luxurious options, great acceleration, plenty of space and love that the back seats fold down when you need extra room

A lemon?

So far it looks like maybe we got a lemon. Like the performance and handling. But after just 7 months and 3,000 miles; one of the Mercedes Original tires went flat, and an electrical problem with the gear shift lever. Could not take the car out of the park mode. 2 trips back to the dealer already.

Test drove a 2021 BMW 330i RWD & the 2021 MB C300 RWD and immediately noticed the sport Vs luxury focus (BMW was sport oriented & the MB was more luxury oriented). Being that we desired a smoother ride & a quiet interior, we went with the MB C300 and are happy with the decision. It’s not the fastest small luxury sedan out there and for me that’s ok. The quality is top-notch. The doors close solidly and plastic components on the door panels do not rattle. The aluminum trim on the Burmester speaker grilles feels great to the touch. While the small finger-tip sized touch pads on the steering wheel feel a bit cheap, they do respond quickly to inputs so navigating gauge cluster menus or infotainment screen choices is quick and easy. I wish MB offered the infotainment screen with both controller + touch-screen (as did the BMW), but the controller wheel (or steering wheel touch pads) work fine. Fuel economy so far (18k miles) is averaging around 26mpg for combined city/highway. With a large fuel tank the range is most excellent. Super pleased and really like the quality & quiet interior, great sound system and the fuel economy. The factory Continental tires are wearing normally but are loud - it’s the only noise we hear on the highway (no wind noise).

"Best" Mercedes to own

Would I recommend this vehicle, no. I was told that this was the "best" vehicle to own in the Mercedes-Benz line up and that has definitely failed to be accurate. After about 8 months of owning the vehicle, I stated to have engine turn over issues. I would click the start/stop button and it would sometimes turn over and sometimes fail to do so. I was told that by service advisors and the service manager that nothing could be done if it did not happen in the dealership service center or in front of them. Although I had video footage of what the vehicle was doing. At one point while making a left hand turn on a flashing yellow, the accelerator failed mid turn, causing me to almost cause an accident while making the turn in front of an on coming vehicle at 5 mph. Pedestrians thought that I was doing it on purpose. I pulled over, turned the vehicle off and then back on. The accelerator worked fine after that. I took it back in and was told that there was no recalls or complaints, so they could not do anything about it. On 10/20/2022, I was driving down the freeway, when I went to accelerate and at that moment the vehicle began to stutter/shake uncontrollably. After that, any time the accelerator was pressed it would shutter/shake. My vehicle was towed to a dealership. Come to find out, cylinder one was coding. They found out that the fuel injector was stuck open. According to the service advisor, that issue was causing a misfire. I was told that they replaced the fuel injector and the spark plug. According to the vehicle report I was given, 1 reman injector, 4 TS spring F In, 1 spark plug, and there was a core return (not sure what that means).

Great car with a lot of flaws and issues

I bought a brand new C300 2021 in July 2021. Due to the shortage, I purchased the car while it was in transit. But it came with a lot of problems; According to the service people, the left-side computer was totally disconnected, plus the chrome trim at the back was not assembled properly. The MB service told me it's not covered by the warranty and that it's a $700 job. Long story short, I love the car but it's been a negative experience and big disappointment with Mercedes Benz. The conclusion I make after the experience seems to be that buyers should take an expert/mechanic to inspect the car accurately before buying. Otherwise, they might buy a flawed car for which Mercedes will not take responsibility after it's sold if it's not included in the warranty. Lesson learned; next time, if I choose to buy a Mercedes, I'll bring my mechanic.

Luxury that kicks up dust

2021 AMG C43 Coupe, Silver/red interior with Night package Performance is outstanding! Handles tight around corners and it is so smooth you don’t feel you are zipping along at 75 mph. The first time I test drove it I felt like I slid into the seat like butter. The finery of interior materials is exceptional and the controls are advanced technically. A sedan that makes me feel at 50 like a soon-to-be retiree with the luxury and a guilty pleasured teenager occasionally stepping on the gas for people to eat my dust! Simply, impeccable!
