On Top of the World

I have wanted a Jag for over 30 years. Well, it was finally time. Just to make sure, I drove every conceiveable competitor. Corvette, BMW, Mercedes, Volvo, Aston Martin, Lexus - you name it. The XKR is the best overall choice. It is stunning. Strangers drool. It is THE gentleman's sportscar. And the service from Hennessy was unbelieveable. Top notch.

Swapped my 2002 XKR for this 2005 XKR. Definite upgrade & improvement. Since both cars were black, most don't realize it is not the same car. However, the increased horse power and extra gear (6th) give a different driving experience and improved performance over the previous model. This car can be driven all day and averages close to 20 mpg, not that I care, but it is impressive. Best car I have ever owned.

Superb GT Car

2005 Jaguar XK-Series XKR 2dr Coupe (4.2L 8cyl S/C 6A)

This 2005 XKR coupe is the third Jag I have owned. Previous cars included a 1969 E-Type 2+2 and a 2004 XK8 coupe. While this car is now 11 years old, it is drop dead gorgeous, and I still find myself sneaking out to the garage occasionally at night just to admire it. The DNA from the E-Type is much more obvious for this first series of XK8s and XKRs than the 2nd generation XK8s and XKRs, and just like the E-Type, these cars will always look beautiful no matter how old they become. And while they look great in photos, they have a very striking physical presence when seen in the flesh that rivals any exotic from Italy or Germany. I never feel as though I am playing second fiddle when driving this car. If the E-Type is a WWII Spitfire, the XKR is a Lear jet on steroids. It is a superb, outrageously beautiful, classy, and fast GT car with an original 2005 sticker price of just shy of $100,000 that can now be purchased for around a quarter of that price. Eventually, the ones with low miles and in great condition are going to begin to appreciate significantly in value. The perfect combination of speed, grace and sensuous good looks. A thing of beauty is a joy forever.

Driving a dream

This is like driving all the spactacular car dreams you've had all your life. It handles like I don't even need to be there. When you are driving the XKR you KNOW there is NO BETTER car on the road. It is the best, and you are in it. Strangers talk to me at red lights and in parking lots, and I know its not because of my red hair on my 50 year old body. Its all about the car. I am the princess I never got to be when I was a girl, I am the Homecoming Queen, but mostly I am the plastic surgeon's wife who EARNED this little piece of ultimate luxury.

This car is the ultimate luxury vehicle. The styling remains up-to-date even after several years on the market. People continuously expess their approval. The car is a comfortable road car with great performance. The miles just seem to melt away. As an added bonus, the boot will hold two sets of golf clubs.

This has to be the hottest car in the street. This car gives you great confidence every time you drive this fantastic automobile. Put some TV's in the headrest and set of 20-inch chrome giovanni's with some yokohama low pro z- rated tires and you're good to go.

Five months ago I traded my 2002 XKR conv. for the 2005. The only available was the same color: black. I can pass it off as the same car, if I want. The upgrades are subtle but significant. I thought the 2002 was the best car I ever owned, the 2005 is now the BEST. More power, more torque, 1 more gear, better handling, better looking exterior. I really look forward to driving every day. This car has the power available when you want it. It is also very comfortable on long trips. The 2008 may be next, when my warranty expires in two more years.

Just looking at this car makes you feel sleek, stylish, and dangerous. With 400hp under the hood there’s nothing holding you back. The coupe has a much sportier look than the “convertible” that everyone has. When you’re driving the coupe it feels like you’re the only one on the planet that has one and everyone wants to know, “how much was that”, or “where did you get it”. Untouchably the nicest sports car I’ve ever owned, it’ll make you feel like a million bucks. - 07/17/2004 Wayne Cain -

THIS IS MY FAVORITE CAR SO FAR, THAT I HAVE HAD. IT'S A PERFECT SIZE. YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE YOU ARE DRIVING A LITTLE CONVERTIBLE WHEN YOU ARE IN IT. I DON'T THINK IT'S A RACING CAR IF THAT'S WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. BUT, IT'S ALOT OF FUN TO DRIVE AROUND.THE BODY STYLE MAKES IT SO EASY TO KEEP CLEAN TOO.IT'S ALSO GOT A GREAT SOUND SYSTEM.I INTENTED TO KEEP MINE FOREVER.

Just stay clear of any potholes! During a rain storm I hit a rain filled one and caused $1200.00 in front-end damage to the front passenger wheel assembly. 20" low profile wheels are great looking but extreme attention must be given to the roadways.

This is my second XKR. Before that I owned XK8's. This is the best one yet. An absolutely beautiful car and "tight" No squeeks over bumps - super solid. Everything about the car says "power"and it's so. The only additional feature I would wish for is an automatic tire pressure regulator. One last thought..the door handles are chrome - it would be nice if they were rubber coated. Here in Arizona after sitting in the sun they get hot, hot, hot.

I just traded in a DRM 400 corvette to get the Jag going from a lifelong super car owner with a manuel trans into a six speed auto gave me some pause well the jag auto in combo with the supercharger leaves no doubt in my mind this is the way to go the car gets looks from every body and when you step on the gas it just takes off like a space shuttle it stays glued onto the road and feels like driving a rolex that goes 180 mph it is so solid quiet and smooth I love this car and will now always have one I will just trade it in every few years

When trying to discribe my experience with the jag the word Wow comes to mind. I'd say it's the most bang for the buck, even though it takes many bucks. I have four of the older models, two XK roadsters, and it's preformance is light-years away ahead of the older jags. It's a car I love to drive. I do have to learn how to handle the speed....it's fast.

Have the Jaq Green. I have had numerous people come up to me and say what a beautiful car. Some are not aware of the reliablity yet and only recall the problems of the Jags of the 60's. This is a whole new machine. Our second one in 3 years. Very comfortable, drove straight through to Florida.
