Needed a big vehicle to transport son and hockey equipment. Rides well, comfortable, roomy. Not great mileage, but consider it weighs 4300 lb empty. Gearshift positions D, 3, 2, 1; needs a 4 so you can shift down from 5 to 4. Great antilocks; saved my bacon when someone abandoned a stolen car right in front of me on the highway. Good in snow, though we didn't get much the first winter I had it. Would like a stick shift, but that will never happen.

I thought I was past my minivan stage, but when safety for hauling the grandkids became a factor, here I am again. My Pilot is awesome! It is comfortable, quiet, easy to park, fun to drive and I know my precious grandkids are safe in it. I'm getting 16-19 MPG city and 18-21 on the highway. My 18 month old grandson loves the rear entertainment system. I have back problems, and the heated 8 way adjustable seat is greatly appreciated. It is too early to tell about reliability, but Honda's reputation is solid. With seating for 8, great storage, solid grip on the road (I've driven in some bad weather) and SUV versatility, I don't know that I will ever go back to a sedan.

We traded our 2001 Odyessy for a 2005 Black Pilot. We are sure glad we did, we didn't realize how much we like being a little higher compared to our van, and our CR-V. Our new pilot is very quick when accelerating onto freeways. The gas mileage could possibly be better for being a mianly front wheel drive suv(glad it has low range). The interior is a huge improvement over our vans, and is easier to see out back. Our Pilot is great in allweather and we are enjoying it very much so far in the winter. THIS CAR ROCKS!

Haven't had the vehicle long, but this one is really a treat. Having put a tranny in an ML320 at 110K, decided to hunt for another rig....after mass test drives of everything you could imagine, decided on the Pilot...and absolutely no regrets..this SUV rides better than most upscale cars, great power availability, nice fit/finish and can't wait to drive it tomorrow.

This is an SUV that drives like a sedan. The quality of the workmanship is apparent as soon as you close the door. I am part of a Honda family and tell myself everytime I buy a new vehicle that I should try something different. However, the quality, resell value and reliability always brings me back. The Pilot is a great step into the SUV market for Honda. If you are looking for an SUV that doesn't drive like a truck or drink like one either this is your car.

Leased it in Oct 2004. Reliable, good in North Dakota snow, has high ground clearence. I am more satisfied with the build quality of my 98 Honda Accord than this. Hear some rattles inside, wind noice pronounced. Excellent customer service at Fisher Honda.

Upon arriving at my parents house, I was pleasantly suprised to find they bought a new Pilot. The very first thing I noticed upon entry was that the dash and trim pieces are all hard plastic save the rubber grips on the door handles. I was immediately disappointed as I own a 2000 Civic and there's soft touch material everywhere inside and it costs about half as much as the Pilot. Honda, the last thing we need is another GM, please get your act together and hide cost cutting measures a bit better. Other than that, the car is built in typical Honda fashion with solid build quality and a buttery smooth engine. Can't say it's the most attractive car, but fortunately appearance is irrelevant

Primarily bought the Pilot because of top ratings and I was tired of Minivans and their poor resale value. Had for 7 months and 7,xxx miles. Ride, comfort (we do not regularly use the 3rd row), performance combined are top notch. Felt I negotiated a very good deal at year's end - the whole "late in the month and late in the year" discounts and the fact that the dealership was trying to make the "President's Award" with sales volume helped. Performs well on regular gas, better on premium. This is a heavy (but nimble) SUV. The mileage numbers on your window sticker may appear larger that your actual mileage. Maybe it's not broken in?

After recent snow and a steep driveway I realized I need something more powerful. I fell in love with the Pilot and its perfect. It also holds all 3 of my kids (2 in carseats) extremely well. We are now even trying for our 4th since we have plenty of room for one!! I highly recommend this SUV for anyone who needs a reliable car in snow and space for kids.

I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I looked very closely at the 05 Nissan Pathfinder and 05 Toyota 4-Runner, and decided on the Honda. This is my 4th Honda that I have owned, and I've never been dissappointed with one of them. If you are looking for class with a nice amount of performance this is a perfect choice. The nice feature about this car is that it comes with AWD and a standard 3rd row seat that is easy to get in and out of. The 3rd row in the Pathfinder is difficult to get out of and to find a 4-Runner with a 3rd row is impossible and its an extra charge. I am very dissapointed however with the poor sound from the stereo system.

Our Honda Pilot saved my wifes life, she recently had a VERY serious freeway crash (hit center devider wall head-on at 65 mph.) and walked away with only a sprained wrist!!! The airbags worked perfectly and the front end crush zone took most of the impact. Our Pilot was a total loss and we will be getting a 2005 soon. We love this SUV!!!

I have only had the vehicle for less than two months. So far I have had no problems. I traded in my old Jeep Grand Cherokee for the Pilot. In terms of ride, handling, & interior design the Pilot is superior to my old Jeep (which I really enjoyed). The Pilot seats are more comfortable than the Jeep seats, though the Jeep seats were excellent for long trips & I have to not yet had the Pilot on an extended trek to make that level of comparison. I have yet to experience snow or more than very light off-road conditions so I can't compare performance in tough going as of yet.

Suspension is tighter than TrailBlazer and Ford 150 and also less body roll, which make it quite accord like and easier to drive than my old acord. 3rd row seats are not bad at all for asians. But, there is not much space left when all up. Low-end performance could be improved, but highway passing is a breeze. The auto5 trans responds quickly for normal driving. It shifts between 5k-6k rpm if you floor it. It's not as quiet as camery and there is a lot of wind noise at 80+ mph. But, that is the same with TrailBlazer. F150 is quieter though. My pilot had a "winnnnn..." sound at 60-70mph at the neginning, which went away after breaking-in at 1K miles.

The Honda pilot was a car i had set my eyes on getting ever since I first saw it come up. It is a fun car to drive and with the comfort and luxury i was looking for it was the only choice! no other car in its class comes close to what the pilot has to offer. Great Gas mileage and excellent handling. Since this is an expensive vehicle you can be sure that your dealership people will treat you very well. The number of accessories means i will never be finished upgradeing my car. I love my pilot!

I have wanted the Pilot for over a year now. My husband bought me one and I love this car. It is comfortable and fun to drive. Lots of room inside for the kids. So much comes standard on this car. My only complaint would be that I don't get that great of gas mileage. It said 17-22. I drive streets and only average about 13-14 mpg. WhenI do drive the freeway, I get good mileage. Everything I was looking for in a car.

Had the vehicle 1 week when we got 12" of snow just as we were ready to leave for vacation. Our Pilot easily broke out of our 120' driveway and through the snowdrift left by the plow at the end of the driveway allowing us to get on with our vacation. Ride is extremely comfortable and the engine provides plenty of power when needed. This is my 4th Honda (2 Odysseys and an Accord) and is my favorite.

This vehicle is an incredible value. We test drove other vehicles in this $$ class that didn't have the overall balance of power, ride and handling quality of the Pilot. I checked out Ford's Explorer and Freestyle, Toyota Highlander and Nissan Pathfinder. All were good cars but just couldn't hit that home run I was looking for.

We bought our Pilot about a year or so ago, and still love it. Its reliable, quiet, and comfortable. Only fault so far is with the seat control panel on the left side of driver's seat; we are on the 2nd replacement; seems that the movement of getting in/out knocks it off the seat. Just a minor thing, but an convenience.

My husband leased this car in November, but only got to drive it home from the dealership, because I love driving it! It replaces a VW Passat wagon (which I HATED!), and now he uses the Camry instead of me. After a few days adjusting to the "feel" of the car, I have not had any problems dealing with handling, manuevering, etc. It rides like a giant car, not like a truck. With 2 young children, the DVD player is a godsend! It kept them occupied for the 5+ hour ride from Philly to Pittsburgh and back one recent weekend.

I only have vehicle a few weeks but was able to test it in heavy rains, ice and snow. I have been driving 4 wheel drive vehicles for the past 15 years, and this vehicle rates right at the top. I've tested the rest of the competition in this category and found this vehicle to win hands down in the most important areas to me. It has excellent pick up, great handling in all conditions, and a solid comfortable ride. etc.,etc.,etc.

Car is extremely inviting. Even with 7 passengers in the car, it handles well, is roomy and the rear passengers enjoy the same heat and air conditioning as the front area passengers. Car's cargo area has six hooks, which when used with bungee cords, holds down most transported items nicely. The raising and lowering of the rear row of seats is effortless. Plenty of glass make this car a safe car for viewing the sides and rear oncoming traffic. As good as the MDX at thousands less.

This SUV is a very comfortable ride. The 255 HP engine gives it a nice kick with smooth acceleration. The interior is accommodating and cozy. The wind shield wipers are in an awkward position, however, and there is a six cd player and another solo cd player which is weird, but poses no problems. Also, a silver trim has been added to the interior for cosmetic purposes which I can do without. Despite some disappointment about some cosmetic decisions this vehicle is powerful, comfortable, handles beautifully and is thoroughly enjoyable.

Needed a replacement for my aging minivan and had almost settled for a midsize sedan, but a stop at the Honda dealer changed that. The Pilot drives like an upscale sedan and has plenty of room when you need it. Seating is very flexible and comfortable, too. Agree with other owners about the windshield wiper stalk getting in the way of the odd gear shifter, but after a week or so learned to get used to it. Very comfortable highway cruiser and fun on the backroads, too. Great power train..very refined. Looking forward to extended trips in it this summer! Gas mileage is a minor concern, but if you drive a GSW, it isn't a priority.

I replaced my '94 Cad Seville and '99 Honda CRV with an '05 Pilot EXL a few months ago. So far so good.Have paid more for cars but think this may be indeed the best car I've ever owned overall. It is quieter than the CRV although still noisy on certain road surfaces, and doesn't get the fuel economy the Seville did (25+ mpg on the highway with 91 octane vs about 21 with 89 for the Pilot so probably a push cost wise? But worse than the CRV overall for sure. Worth it though overall I think because it is quiet enough I can listen to the radio at highway speeds--not possible in the CRV--and a much more comfortable ride. Will be adding a Toyota Avalon to my "fleet" for reasons unimportant to you.

We've had this car for 4 months and I love to drive it. It's powerful for a V6 and feels safe in all weather. The car has not slipped in rain, sleet or snow, and handling is good for a large car. Interior room is spacious and flexible, and you can easily fit 8 people or put down the 2nd and 3rd rows and haul lots of cargo. Interior trim and accessories are sturdy, and the car handles easy a heavy payload. The console between the 2 front seats is great for odds and ends, and can be adjusted to suit your taste. Small gripes are that it handles wind noise well, but road noise on bad roads is pronounced, and the heat in the front seats fades in and out.

I purchased a Honda CR-V in October of 1998. I purchased the Honda because of its reputation and I needed more room for my 2 growing children. Well this year I decided to make a new purchase, I wanted to keep my CR-V because it was paid for but decided against it for personal reasons. So... I traded it in for my 2005 Honda Pilot. Best decision I have made thus far this year. I am totally satisfied with the Pilot and I plan to make Honda a family tradition for myself and my children. I never had a day of trouble from my CR-V, change the oil , brakes and tires and that was it, I was and am truely satisfied with Honda. Next time I am going to get fully loaded, leather seats, and navigation.!

I love Hondas ... don't get me wrong... but I now believe the street rumors that they aren't as reliable as they used to be.... My story.. on the second day of ownership... less than 100 miles I start to brake but it is doing nothing... I press harder and the pedal goes down to the max and its just barely stopping... luckily no one was in front of me... finally stopped and tested it at the next light and it worked fine... 3 weeks later it happened to my wife and again lucky no one was in front... Called honda and they agreed with me in that they think it is the master Cylinder.... We will see if it fixes it but less than 500 miles and it does this? I'm optimistic it will be ok!

The nav system works great. We had the 2003 for approximately 2 years 4 months and put on approx 33,000. We had some trouble under the warranty, I was never comfortable with the transmission and felt it was best to trade in. I would recommend to all.

It does seem big behind the wheel, but that's because of its height -- and it's not too big to handle -- same length as my old Accord. It gives an unbelievably smooth ride on the highway, and I feel very safe in it. Despite some reviews/reviewers, I love the styling of the exterior. The interior is beautiful too. I am biased toward Hondas, and this Pilot isn't likely to change my mind on that...

Car has fantastic pickup to the point I find myself frequently over the speed limit, yet handles more smoothly than most cars I've driven.

Best test drive I have ever had. This SUV drives nice and tight, closest feeling to car that I have found in an SUV. The gas mileage seems to be improving as I break the motor in more. Wish I went for the leather, but other than that, no regrets yet. I would buy one again.

Before I purchased this car, I did my thorough research on the market. Even made a marketing plan for school on this vehicle. This car was absolutely for me. Having owned a previous Honda, I assumed the Pilot's reliability and quality would be as good as my CRX. To my dismay, I've had an intermittent rattle noise in the dash that has not been repaired after numerous attempts at the dealership. Please be warned. Having that said, everything else in the car is wonderful and you won't find a better SUV under 30K.

We took this SUV on a road trip through Yellowstone and the Rockies, excellent gas mileage of 23/28. We never thought we would get such good mileage from a big vehicle. The ride was very smooth and comfortable. According to one of the cons of owning this vehicle is the feeling that one feels to big behind the wheel. I am only 5'2" and didn't have any problems, I did not feel as though the vehicle was to big to handle. I felt very comfortable driving it. Excellent vehicle!
