Bought this van new in 2001 and it's never been taken to any repair shop. Dealer or otherwise. If you're gonna put your precious cargo (wife and kids) in a box, this is the one. The safest, the most reliable, the most luxurious and the most worry-free box out there in the market. BTW, I also own a BMW Z4 which has been to the dealership for "tweaking" 3 times since i bought it last year. Something about them Japanese engineers. I bet in the next 25 years or so we'll think Japanese when we think of prestigious automobiles.

I was relocated from overseas and have driven many different makes and models. When I was in the US, I rented a couple of mini-vans to try out the different feel. I also test drove the vehicles exhaustively and tormented all the various dealers with my line of questioning and competiveness of their cars. Almost every competitor named only one car they saw as being the finest, The Odyssey. The Odyssey emerged as the Supreme master. My wife, a new driver here in the States couldn't have started off with a better car as as well as knowing she could always feel safe with its 5 Star rating.

Transmission is faulty

The automatic transmissions in the 97- 03 hondas are defective. Honda has issued warnings and extended the warranty to 10 years or 100,000. And they don't tell you this on the front end.

I've been leasing the 2001 Ex Honda for almost 3 years. I had no problems with it. It's been great. I'm going to buy a 2004 when my lease is over.
Nice Van... Poor Gas Mileage

The van overall has been great. We are now driving it oversees (Naples Italy) and the car handles nicely at 90 - 100mph on the autostrada. While in the states and our first 3 months in Italy, the gas mileage was really poor! 14 - 15 in the city... 20 - 21 on the
