2004 cr-v
Ran great for the first 40,000 miles. Fun to drive, great in the winter (central NY).
A diamond in the rough
Extremely smooth ride. The gas mileage is great. I have only had this vehicle for a month and it's getting a 26 MPG average in the city. The seats are comfortable and there is plenty of room in this vehicle. The handling is excellent. It is an SUV but it feels almost the same as driving a sedan or coupe.

Satisfaction
If you're looking for reliability, reasonable pricing, good looks, and pretty good performance, then the honda/crv is a pretty good bet. It's also pretty comfy.
Lovin it
I'm about 3000 miles into ownership and completely satisfied. This replaced a 99 Jeep Cherokee, so the ride is like a Cadillac in comparison. I took it on a long trip for xmas. It's carried five grown men. It's gone through moderate mud and snow. It's been great in all those situations. The rear center headrest pops out if you decide it blocks your view. In contrast to another review, the cassette player comes in handy if you have an mp3 player.
Love that CRV
This is my second CRV and fourth Honda. I bought the first CRV model offered in 1997 and turned it in on the 2004 model. Wonderful vehicle. It can haul almost anything a truck can and it's much more fuel efficient. The engine in the 2004 is an improvement....quite peppy. Love the sunroof and raised back seat. I never worry about mechanical problems. It's a Honda. I'll always have one in the family.
Fun, Reliable and Functional Machine
The primary driver for this vehicle is my wife, but i enjoy taking it out every chance i get. The fuel economy is good. The interior is very functional with lots of cargo space. The middle head rest is useless and blocks much needed rear-view. A V-6 engine would make this vehicle a perfect 10. We traded in our 2002 Accord and we miss very much the radio controls on the steerign wheel, leather seats, Home Link, visor lights, larger glove box (we can't even fit the car's manuals!), V-6 engine. Overall this is a good buy.
Excellent Mini-SUV
I actually have the 2-WD by choice - I don't need the 4-WD in Midwest. This may not be the vehicle for a tall person. But for those of you looking for a well made vehicle under 25K this is a very good vehicle. I love mine. I do occassionally wish for a little more comfort, but if I wanted to spend more, I could purchase a Pilot.
Luv the new V....
Just bought a 2004 CR-V EX in Satin Silver...absolutely love it!!! Can't wait to take it on it's first long road trip roundtrip from Florida to Michigan in June. This car is so nice and so much fun to drive!
Balancing Fun and Function
I can't say enough about this car. It's fun to drive, very comfortable, and handles well on the highway and in city traffic. The interior space is ample, with a lot of cool features. The all-time four wheel drive is also very good to have, especially in Buffalo, where the winter driving can be a bit challenging at times. I've probably sold a few of these cars just by letting my friends experience the ride. Go check one out.
Wow - what a great vehicle
This is a great vehicle to follow up to two Accords which set the bar pretty high. I love sitting up higher among the sea of huge vehicles out there today, and this car has some pep! Great turning radius and everything within easy reach. I recommend adding the side step, the moonroof visor (for sound at high speeds), the front splash guards, and the cargo cover (esp if you are used to having a trunk - and for safety reasons).
Very Nice
After first 500 miles, this is a very comfortable, easy to drive car. Handling is great, is roomy for a small suv. After comparing to RAV4 and Subaru Forrester, the CR-V has more to offer, and it costs less too. Highly recommended.
cr-vv
run to drive and extremely reliable
crv
Already got rid of it and bought a Mercury Mountaineer. Was very disappointed in it.
Love this car
My wife and I have 2 children and we wanted to trade in our older large SUV on something new and easier for my wife to drive, we test drove a bunch of the similar size SUV's (VUE Outlander Escape) and the Honda CRV was the best of the bunch in our opinion. It rides great has a ton of stow away storage and is very Mom and Kid friendly. We could not be happier with our choice.
Good for the price
After getting rid of 13 yr old Accord, I did extensive research on small SUVs and decided that CRV was the best for the money. Even though only after a week of owning the car, the trunk had a minor problem, I still think that CRV was a good choice. It drives smooth, comfortable. I agree with many reviewers that CRV is rough on bumpy roads, but I expected that when I bought a SUV. I was buying a SUV, not a car.
I LOVE IT!
I love my Honda CRV! I have owned a couple Civics prior to the CRV and I absolutely Honda's in general. I don't recommend any other make to anyone. My family is a Honda family: 3 Accords, a Civic, and my CRV.
CR-V C Me Smile
A great SUV at a great price, with good milage.
OK
After reading reviews and looking at specifications, the CRV was at the top of my list. Interior is well designed, the silver exterior is sweet. The first drive I was impressed with the acceleration from 0-60 mph. The 6 cd changer w/ cassette is pretty cool, now I can connect my mp3 player to the stereo. The speakers are ok but I needed a little more bass so I put a sub in. But what really disappointed me was the gas millage. I average b/t 17 and 18 in city and 20-21 hwy. These numbers more resemble a V6 rather than a 4 cylinder engine. Overall I have a little buyers remorse but I am satisfied with my purchase.
CRV
EXCELLENT SUV. GOOD BUY FOR THE MONEY. SMOOTH RIDE, GREAT HANDLING. IF I HAD TO DO IT AGAIN, I WOULD. A+++++++++++++ IN MY BOOK!!!!
Great small SUV!
This is my first SUV and I love it. The ride is pretty smooth for a SUV and so far my gas mileage has not been too bad (about 22 mpg). The EX model includes everything, there are no options. The only haggling you have to do is getting a price under the MSRP.I have a family so I really appreciate the standard anti-lock brakes, side impact air bags, dual crumple zones, security key system and moon roof. In addition, this SUV has excellent crash protection results. My insurance was lower than for the 1999 Dodge that I traded in.
Lovin' my new car
I LOVE my Honda CR-V! I don't know if I'll ever be able to drive anything else! It's extremely spacious. It's wonderful for active people who can put all the sports equipment easily in the back. The only downfall I found was that I felt it should have come with a luggage rack, but other than that, this car is GREAT!
Another Sweet Honda
After 7 years of excellent performance I've purchased another model in the Honda line. I've wanted a CRV for some time so noone I know is surprised by my purchase. Just big and tall enough to feel more comfortable on the road among the monster vehicles. Very fun to drive: responsive, drives like a car, what's not to like?
CRV=EXcellence
All things considered, engineering, performance, reliability, economy, exterior and interior design, Honda's CR-V is as best they come. For commuting to and from work, and for weekend camping and fishing trips, my 2004 CR-V suits me perfectly. It's power is surprising, leaving many larger SUVs in my rearview mirror!
Honda CR-V EX
We have had a rough winter in Northern Utah this year, and I needed a commuter vehicle that offered all wheel drive. The Honda CR-V has served this purpose very well, while also being fun to drive and completely reliable. I have a tow hitch on it, and while the amount you can tow is modest, I obtain over 21 mpg while towing. Overall mileage as been 25.5 to 26 mpg with mostly highway miles with some city miles. Perhaps the best compliment I can give the vehicle is that it becomes more fun to drive with each passing day and I recognize the excellent value it represents.
Custom Recreational Vehicle
The Honda CRV is a fun to drive vehicle. It is very comfortable and it handles extremely well for an SUV. It is very roomy and has a lot of storage space. Gas mileage is as good as any 6 cyl, sedan with automatic. This 4 cyl SUV gets off the line as well as most 6 cyl suvs. The best thing of all is it has Honda engineering and quality building it.
MY SECOND CR-V
I just picked up another CR-V EX..After this lousy winter I couldn't find a better vehicle combining all weather traction, fuel economy & good looks.. Reliability is tops..resale very high..If you are considering a small- mid SUV this is a no-brainer.. Tom R. Bedminster, NJ
great
Great suv.. fun to drive an has good cd player an good amount of room inside. My wife loves it and so do my teenage girls. The price was right and its a honda.
cool car cum SUV
crv is a cool suv.ride quality is just like car.very quite ride.good on gas. its fun to drive.
Love It
Never would have considered this car until this year. It is so perfect for me - that right size, price, ride and looks. Only thing bad is that I constantly see the same car coming and going on the road.
Billf is happy
Wonderful Vehicle if you in mind for a Mid to small size SUV....great gas mileage, comfortable ride...with quite a bit of pep.
Love my CRV
After test driving Toyota's Rav4, 4Runner, and Highlander, as well as the Honda Pilot, we were convinced that for the price, the CR-V was the best buy. Now, after having it for almost 6 months, we still love it! I drive it to work (42 miles each way) and have not had one (1) bad experience with it. It is not a million dollar car, but for the $24K that I paid for it, it is worth every penny!
Great, Cheap, Safe Car
This is an all around great car. My wife crashed hers last week, and we loved the vehicle so much, we bought another one identical. My only complaint is that in a 5-speed, there is no armrests.... other than that, I wouldn't change a thing!
A Great Mini SUV
Love it! First SUV. Also looked at Forester and Rav. Has more space than either. Took one-day road trip of 170 miles in hard rain and driving wind (from the side)on interstate (speeds 65- 70mph). Tracked extremely well and much less wind buffeting than our sedan. Not as quiet as a sedan - wind and tire noise is noticable, but probably not as loud as a mid- or full-size SUV. Seats are firm (a bit on the hard side, even), but during our 170 mile trip we were not uncomfortable. Impressed with the rear seats - lots of rear seat legroom, rear seats slide forward and back, seat backs can be adjusted, rear seats fold up and forward to add more cargo space.
CR-V fan
Did a lot of research and was not disappointed when it came time for the test drive. Plenty of room, features and power. The accessories I added finished it off nicely. Excellent vehicle!!
CRV EX
The CRV EX is a pleasure to drive, feels like a car, good power, good visibiility, solid feel to it. Execellent traction on wet or slippery surfaces. Roomy passenger and luggage interior. Picnic table a nice touch.
good car
i was always stuck with compact cars...wanted a change...it was either the used s2000 or this brand new 2004 cr-v.....I like it so far...had for alittle over a week....good change...I like it...seems pretty smooth...compared to my friend's rx330...hahahaha
Great SUV
This is our first SUV and we love it. Test drove the Jeep Liberty and this was by far the better. It's fun to drive and looks great. The cargo room is really impressive and I love the fold down tray so I can put my pocketbook there when there is someone in the passenger seat. I also love the gear shift up on the dashboard. I've always liked by cars and this has that feel.
lot of car, little money
I've had this car almost two years now and I can say this is best car I've ever owned. I had a 97 blazer before this and I must say the rear leg room is far more than the blazer, not as much front leg room but it's a smaller vehcile. The shifter coming out of the dash takes getting used to but I love the placement now. All around a wonderful car.
Excellent vehicle for the money
If you are looking for a good, reliable vehicle, then look no further.
great SUV
overall the honda CRV is a great SUV.
I like it!
I shopped seriously for about 3 months, looked at Saturn Vue, Toyota RAV4 & Highlander, a Mitsubishi, and the Honda Pilot. My first 2 tanks of gas (97 octane) have been just over 24.9 MPG. I drive 15 miles to work ending up at downtown Indianapolis.
No problems
great suv would not trade it for another in it's class. i would trust it anywhere. It hols it's own. I love it!!! Fun to drive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2004 CR-V EX Automatic
I wanted a small SUV that had decent gas mileage, safety, and reliability, along with a few creature comforts, and the CR-V EX delivers. Smooth ride with car-like handling. Nice stereo, plenty of cargo and passenger space. I really like the all-in-one nature of the EX model - it gave me everything I needed without messing around with extra options.
CRV Performance
Honda packs a lot in this package at a nice price. Good handling, nice pick up and size. Perhaps my one complaint is that the ride could be slightly quieter and less stiff.
tjbt
My review for the Honda CR-V is nothing less than GREAT. I'm glad my daughter talked me into purchasing one. The Honda CR-V is my first SUV. At first, I was really sceptical about purchasing one, especially with the fear of roll- over. But I must admit that the transition from my 2000 Honda Accord to the 2003 CR-V, was a wonderful experience. It's just like drive a car.
Great Mini-SUV
The 2004 CR-V is another great car in the Honda line. Build quality is great and the initial impression of this car is that should serve me for many years with little or no complaint from me or the car. The real-time 4wd was a real selling point for me. I tried it out on some wet roads and the car stuck to the road. All in all, the combination of fuel-efficiency and reliability of a civic with a SUV platform was a great idea. My wife has an 03 forester, both are great cars, choose the CR-V for size and finish, the forester for performance.
best mini suv in the world
i love it and am going to buy one more for my wife
Love It!
This is the safest, most fuel effecient SUV and it is so fun to drive! My husband and I were looking for a second vehicle and we loved our Accord, so we looked again at Honda. We just love our CR-V and feel 100% secure knowing that we will bring our new baby home from the hospital in it.
Excellent!!!
Most amazing car I've ever driven and know we own one. Handles excellent. Has every Honda comfort and all the space that the Accord doesn't have. The price is great for all you get.
Smartest Buy In Its Class
I thought long & hard before purchasing my CR-V. Other models considered were the Tribute, Liberty, Sorento, and RAV- 4. Along with Toyota, Honda has superior reliability in this class. My CR-V has the perfect balance of what I need in a vehicle - high build quality, excellent drivability, AWD when I need it, good looks, and a spacious interior. Power could be better, but the VTEC makes the most out of what the CR-V has. Weaknesses? Stock tires are junk. Radio is weak in performance and reception. Auto trans selector is located right behind windshield wiper controls, causing the grabbing of wrong controls at times. Gas mileage is not as advertised.
