Great Interior; Not So Great Engine
My Taurus has the sharpest interior out of any car I've ever sat in (and I used to work for car rental). I love the exterior as well. Bought the car with 88,000 miles on it and have had problems with a slipping transmission once in a while. Other than that I had no problems until my car hit 132,000 miles, when the water pump went. Since it's inside the engine, I now have coolant in my engine & oil and can't run the car. (Guessing the timing chain was affected because the car was idling like a diesel truck before it started overheating.) With all that being said, I still love my Taurus & can't seem to find anything as appealing. It's powerful, attractive, and extremely comfortable.

Must have!
With my sights set on a Corvette, but the reality of needing a 5 passenger car, I decided to look around and see what was available. I was awe-struck after test driving the 2010 Taurus sho! There was no way that this car could have carried the same name as the Taurus that got me through college in the mid 90's! It was almost as hard to convince my wife to test drive a Taurus as it was to get her out of it once she did! I get comments left and right about the car! I love it! I beat my Father-in-laws mercedes cls 500 from 0-60, has much cooler and practical features, and paid $30,000 less! My gas mileage isn't so great but that's because I can't keep my foot off the gas! Good job Ford!

Not a good experience
I wanted to buy a Ford, so I traded in my Acura TL and ultimately purchased a Taurus Limited. Based on the reviews, I must have gotten the runt of the litter. The car was in the shop twice within the first three months, and ultimately the entire gas tank was replaced. The car still has a lurch with each gear change, and I've had two passersby mention that my car is making noises "that it shouldn't". Add to that flaking chrome trim after 10 months being kept in a garage, and I guess you can say I miss my Acura. Just waiting to get into the next model year, I'll take my beating at the trade-in, and I'll go back to the import that I know will last me many years to come.
Chrome trim
Like the car overall. Handles well. Great pickup to get on highway.
