Perfect Family Sedan

I traded in my 2001 mustang for this car, its been a blessing. My family needed the extra room for my newborn son and 4year old. My taurus has room for six which helps when you carry your friends or family. As a previous owner of a 96 taurus I love the way they drive and the space they have inside. Fuel economy is great and the A/C system is better than my 98 Honda Civic.

Not Bad!

Had the car since April 1st (april fools day) Not the exact model I wanted. Got suckered into a black model instead of metallic blue, but at least I got leather seats and heated mirrors. Whoopee! (sarcasm) I wish that Ford would use a different tire company than Continental. They go flat if you look at them wrong! My '94 Taurus had more pick-up than this, but it also got reallly bad gas mileage. Traction control is a good idea. My Jeep slips all over the road if it's even sprinkling outside. The Taurus holds to the road really well with the TC.

Too much money, too little car

1. A car should have pickup or gas mileage. Ideally, it should have both. This car has neither. A Camry or Accord can accelerate faster and needs much less gas. 2. Details details. Why do you have to unfold the front seat to get to the change holder? Why can't the stereo get signal on cloudy days? 3. The car had trouble starting on a mild spring day with only 2200 miles under it's belt. That's pathetic. There was a time when Accords and Camrys were fighting to catch up to the Taurus - America's #1 selling car in the 80's. Now they're not in the same class.

I really like my 2003 Taurus. The car has about 140,000 on it now and doesn't have the get up and go it used to (it does hesitate when accelerating quickly) but I have had minimal problems over the years. I deal with Birmingham stop & go traffic everyday with about a 30 mile commute so I do have to have regular brake maintenance but other than that I have no complaints. Very roomy so its great for tall people like me. I think its about ready to be traded in but I will miss it.

I drove this car for an extended weekend. It performed flawlessly. Its passing ability was very impressive for a 6 cylinder. All the creature comforts one would expect in a full size car--automatic everything. The cruise control was very accurate, never did it jump down into passing gear, even on hill climbs. Gas mileage on trip was a cool 25 miles/gallon combined. Very nice cruising car.
