Used 2003 Ford Taurus Sedan Consumer Reviews
Luxury on the cheap
My wife and I decided on the 2003 Taurus SEL w/Leather, wood, adjstble pedals, mnroof, 6-cd console changer, MACH sound, auto climate control, window lock-out, 200-hp v6, 24valve DOHC, ABS, cruise control, side- mirror entry light, keyless entry, theft/perimeter alarm and more. The car is very, very comfortable (coming from an ex-SUV driver, this wasn't hard to find, however), handles very well, gets about 24mpg on the hwy (I speed a lot). The CD changer in the center console makes access a lot easier than in the trunk. The dealer dropped $1200 off retail list and the $500 rebate from Ford plus the 0.0 percent Ford Credit financing for 60 months.
Ford Taurus V6 vulcan, Good sedan
This is a good car, It has all the features you would need to drive a family around. But like all cars this one does have common problems but they can be fixed. Fuel pump, Coil pack, and camshaft. Not cheap but easy to fix and if you take good car of the car it will take care of you.

Best Bang For The Buck
Comfortable ride, good economy, complete with leather, moonroof and all the features I wanted in a new car. I looked at Toyotas, Hondas, Mazdas and to get one of these cars equipped as the Taurus is I would have payed $24,000 & up. For $17,900 i got the car I was looking for with much smaller car payments then I would have thought. I can live with the rental car stigma while I'm enjoying the savings.
Even great crashed
I just lost my SEL in a crash with a truck this week. All of the things they say about the safety of this vehicle are true, we had no serious injuries. I loved the car. I changed out the tires for V speed rated tires and that put the handeling at a much higher level. I haul kids a lot and the room inside is great. We have even squeezed 4 in the back a few times. I really miss my car. I have been pouring over the specs of new vehicles to see if I want to make a change. I don't see anything else that offers the combination of features, performance, of safety for anywhere near the price.
2003 Taurus SES Sedan
I really like my Taurus . Good, reliable vehicle with surprisingly good gas mileage on the highway. Low maintenance cost. Disappointing rate of depreciation. Seats are uncomfortable.
